They didn’t have tofu - Edit
Saw previous reviews and thought I should check it out. They have one sandwich called the vegan, which is just like the vegetarian sandwich, except it doesn’t mayo or pesto or cheese, with nothing to substitute. Waited in line on one side, after I made it through the line I was somewhat rudely told to order with the lady making the sandwiches and not her. Also ordered an iced americano and it came hot.
Read moreTalked to the lady making the sandwiches and asked for the vegan. She was about to begin making it and then said “oh we don’t have any tofu sorry”. I decided to leave at this point.
It was also unclear how to order a salad, there was no salad menu. Would not say this place is particularly vegan friendly—no different than a regular sandwich shop where you’d order a vegetarian sandwich with no cheese, since there was no protein option.

Best deli in the city - Edit
Hands down my favorite deli in North Beach. I bring everyone here and it’s always a crowd pleaser. Has great vegan/vegetarian options as well as the standard Italian deli favorites. Also offers lots of niche food/drink items, great desserts, and delicious gelato!

Will not get fresher salads in the city, such a beautiful spot with a lovely owner and great service. Many clearly labelled vegan options. You have to give this place a try
