VEGANS, AVOID. Okay for MEAT EATERS ONLY

I don't order fast food often now adays, especially from places that sell meat. My mum ordered us food from here as she was craving a burger and wanted to treat us..

I had the tater tots, tenders and the taco. It was one of the most disappointing meals I've had in a long time. Ive had better food at Wetherspoons.

I can't even imagine HOW you manage to overcook seitan tender pieces (There was only two and it cost 8 pounds), yet somehow, they're soggy? The sauce was clearly a paste they've watered down as it was grainy. I stopped eating after the first two bites.

The taco was an absolute joke, for 7 pounds, you get a wet tiny tortilla, not even a taco shell with a single tender, mystery sauces on the soggy, overcooked seitan and wet lettuce.

The tots seasoning was almost tasteless and nearly cold. Again, charging 7 pounds??

The vegan portions are also ridiculously small. Wouldn't have even filled up a child.

To top it all off, they gave me garlic mayo (I'm allergic and said), and from the looks and smell of it, it's one of the mystery sauces on the taco too. I literally could be violently ill right now if it is mayo.

For over 20 quid for one meal that couldn't even be eaten, let alone other issues with my mums food, i wish we ordered from Cafe Thrive.

Nearly 40 quid down the drain atogether and 1 & 1/2 portions of food waste.

P.s for meat eaters: The beef burger was apparently really good, and the only redeeming quality from my mum.

Delicious burgers!

Me and my friend both ordered the vegan “Prince Charles is overrated” with the tater tots. Such a flavourful burger and for less than 14 quid each we got a burger, tots and a coke.
Such a great range of burgers for vegans but do wish the menus on tables displayed the vegan options and also wish you could add extra things to the burgers ie extra dirty spread to a burger etc.

Pros: Tasty scran, Good value- especially lunch deals

Cons: Can’t add extras to burgers, Menus don’t actually display vegan opts, Venue a bit dark

Okay. But needs improvement

Good range of options but expensive for the size given. Burgers needs more topping such as the option for fresh vegetables. Took a while to receive the food and most of the it came out lukewarm. Meaning it was sitting at the pass for a while. The location has potential with minor improvements.

Pros: Friendly Staff, Range of options

Cons: Slow service, ordering system

No regard for veganism

Lots of vegan options so thought it boded well for a takeaway. They included non-vegan items in the order though! Non-vegan cheese sauce included despite asking for vegan cheese fries, plus chicken-fried halloumi fries. Absolutely gross disregard and incredibly wasteful. So disappointed.

burger.

noticing an unfortunate downwards trend in vegan burgers atm ..... dry burgie😒i remember going to the portswood 7bone as a baby vegan years ago and it was one of the best burgers i'd had to date. this time i had the Price Charles burger which has a fake beef patty, it wasn't just a lack of sauce (added extra ketchup which helped slightly) but the patty itself is thicker and very dry throughout. it's very similar to the one used at Shooting Star and imo ruins what could've been a good burger. will try a vegan chicken burger next time as hopefully that will b better!!! on the plus side, fries are sooooo good - rookie error not to get loaded fries, but they are yum on their own and even better with chipotle ketchup. servers are always lovely and were very patient :)

Pros: friendly staff, big portions, chips :D

Cons: dry burger

Vegan options, but unavailable 😢

I’ve read previous reviews mentioning a separate vegan menu, however this has changed and now the options that can be made vegan have a little aubergine next to them on the main menu.
There is quite a variety of burgers than can be made vegan however the two I wanted to try were unavailable due to running out of some ingredient or other. In the end I settled for the katsu chicken sando which was very good, and some tater tots.
I initially wanted to try the slider option (3 mini burgers for £10) but they didn’t do vegan (or even vegetarian) versions of this sadly - something they can improve on!

Pros: The katsu sando flavours, The range of vegan options

Cons: The lack of availability of vegan options, No vegan sliders!

Location has changed

This is now located in Bedford Place. The burgers are good but they def need to add vegan milkshakes/desserts to their menu!

Big portions

You can see why it’s a favourite for the student population: you get big portions for a relatively cheap price. The staff are all lovely.
