Now People Based - Edit
In the span of 6 weeks, I ate here and enjoyed it five times! (Before visiting on the 6th and deciding I'd never go again) My partner showed me this place, then I went again with my partner another time too. I liked this place so much, I reconnected with my cousin and we met here and ate, then I brought a sister on one occasion and my entire family the week later for my birthday!
Read moreAnd then I went back for the sixth time and the menu had completely changed! I was so confused as to why I was having to pick through a menu at a place I had previously thought had amazing vegan selection and ideals... Overall just very disappointing😒

Transitioned from a good all vegan spot to a restaurant loaded with animal products. Disappointing is an understatement.

Mixed Feelings - Edit
So disappointed to find out this place WAS fully vegan, and now it’s like any other ominvorous restaurant/bar with vegan options.
Read moreThe food was good, not mind blowing. The best and our favorite by far was the “spicy” udon noodles. They didn’t taste spicy at all, but man they were delicious. The Nashville Mushroom sandwich was also good, not great. It was definitely lacking some flavor pizazz. Not spicy, and not saucy.
I was most disappointed in the tofu appetizer. It had no flavor without the sauce, and they buried the sauce at the bottom of the bowl under the dry tofu. It was the weirdest decision by the cook.
The drinks are where they shine. I got a mocktail I would order again ten times over!
The building/house is beautiful. The atmosphere is nice, except for the poorly chosen music. 70s pop does not fit the goth feel at all. Overall this place is ok, but suffering from some very poor choices by those in charge.
Pros: Many vegan options, Spicy Udon Noodles 😋 , Really good drinks
Cons: No longer 100% vegan, Most dishes need improvement, Wrong music for setting

Disappointed - Edit
The first fully plant-based brick and Mortar restaurant in Vancouver turns Un-Vegan a year after opening. I have eaten here several times and sadly was unimpressed. Just across the river there are some fantastic creative restaurants and food carts that serve scratch-made meat alternatives, sauces, etc. My critique here was that they seemed to use mostly common vegan freezer foods and faux-meats they tried to jazz up, which for the price was disappointing. And blaming the lack of success on the fact they were vegan rather than the quality and price has made for some frustrating conversations, and the amount of people who now assume there just isn’t a market for vegan food here is wild. We’re like 10 minutes from one of “the most vegan friendly cities”, with something like 50 100% vegan restaurants and establishments, there is more than enough demand. Kind of actually hurt the cause in the end, and that’s incredibly disappointing. Here’s hoping there’s someone talented and invested that comes along to bring something here someday.

So happy we have this in Vancouver - Edit
Must try this pretzels and beer cheese!
Read moreUpdate: Huge bummer they removed the pretzels and Buddha bowl from the menu now that they are no longer fully vegan, but I have to say…the new vegan menu items I had tonight blow the old ones out of the water. Spicy Noodle and Crispy Potato dishes were incredible.

This started as a plant based restaurant and after less than a year with little to no community outreach including very little social media it’s now a meat place with some disappointing options. The whole place smells like fish now.

The high star rating is a lie! - Edit
At current writing they have 4.5 stars, but be aware that includes a lot of 5 star reviews from before they abandoned the vegan menu and became fully carnivore (steak, chicken, oysters, shrimp, clams, etc.
Read moreHonestly, Happy Cow should deal with this by marking them PERMANENTLY CLOSED and starting a new listing for the non-vegan iteration of the restaurant. That would be an honest evaluation of the current state of the place.

I'm definitely going to send a note to happy cow about it!

Cool, Quality Vegan Option in Vancouver! - Edit
Update: 3 Howls has recently decided to no longer be a vegan-only establishment. The menu is loaded with animal products and the remaining vegan offerings are less than stellar. Their decision is disappointing and I likely won't be returning.
Read moreLove the fun goth/alt. atmosphere here, it's got a lot of style but is still extremely welcoming and comfortable. I, and others I've brought here have yet to try anything from the menu we haven't liked (so far: mini-corndogs, Girl Dinner, Dirty Byrd, Pretty Byrd, and The Grinder). The staff are friendly, helpful, and provide excellent service. I love having a fully plant-based restaurant in Vancouver and wish them the utmost success so they'll stick around a very long time!

Happy count should reevaluate the Stars - Edit
They used to be vegan and now now have meat on the menu. Didn't even just switch to vegetarian. Just went straight to the corpses. I am leaving this review in hopes that it will create a more realistic star rating. They have more than non-vegan restaurants are allowed to have.

Yummy gluten free options (and so many!) - Edit
As of March 2025, they are now serving animals and not worth the drive.
Read moreWow. Genuinely overwhelmed with the amount of gluten free options and ability to make nearly everything on the menu gluten free. The buns were scarily not gluten free looking (saw other pics and definitely a difference). The drinks were great. We had the buffalo cauliflower, pretty Byrd, and Philly cheesesteak. Everything was so great - honestly the chicken sandwich was scarily close to a real animal - taste, texture, smell. 😅 picked it apart towards the end just to make sure 😂 see photos of texture

Amazing ambiance and food to match! - Edit
On the way back from the North Oregon Coast last week, we detoured through Costco - Hillsboro (doesn't everyone? lol) and it wasn't long before we were ready for FOOD. We wanted to try a new place for us, but not have to drive south into Portland. I remembered reading about a cool vegan place in Vancouver, WA and just like that .. our destination was set 3 HOWLS REMEDY HOUSE ( @3howlsremedyhouse ). What really sealed the deal was the "100% vegan"!
Read moreRight away, you're taken in by the spooky, gothic charm of the decor, both inside and out. It was obvious they put a lot of thought, pride and creativity into breathing life and soul into their establishment.
Their food was no less thoughtful and inspiring, you'll be as excited to walk inside of their ghoulish restaurant as you'll be when their drool worthy food arrives at your table. The aesthetics of our dishes were on point! The flavor combinations were so unique, it worked at every rich and decadent level, from the orange pumpkin theme running through their Pumpkin Gnocchi dish to the creamy soft pasta with smokey bakon bits (for an added charge but it's a no brainer!) in their Mac & Cheese dish, and even the Truffle Fries were bursting with truffle flavor goodness.
Our server was delightful, knowledgeable and service was spot on, thank you!
The only regret we have is not being able to order more food such as their Fried Asparagus, Beyond Philly and so much more!
If you're in the mood to try something new, with quite the eclectic flare, drop by for your drinks, your drips, your breakfast, lunch or dinner .. they've got you covered.
Pros: Ambiance, Service, Da Food!!!

Good but not great - Edit
So glad that there is finally a 100% vegan restaurant in Vancouver. I liked the Mac-n-cheez but it needed a bit more flavor. I did order it “plain” but it just needed a bit more oomph. Not bad but could be better. My husband had the falafel wrap and thought it was good. The staff was wonderful and friendly but service was a bit slow.. I think it was because ours was the only waitress.
