Delicious Asian sharing dishes - Edit
What a treat! Fresh produce, intense flavours, delicate yet generous sharing dishes, and all in a cosy setting with many plants. The miso-beurre blanc on the celeriac skewers was the best sauce I've had in a while. The seitan in the larb beautifully soaked up the freshness of the herbs. The mushroom-walnut filling of the moon dumplings was very meaty. Don't skip on dessert: the pandan matcha crème brûlée was a creamy delight. Already excited to try the other dishes on the menu next time!

Hier komen we zeker terug!
Update: Een tweede bezoek in april 2026 bevestigde de eerste ervaring: YUSU is een geweldig plantaardige restaurant met unieke gerechten op de kaart.

Delicious - Edit
The food was really amazing! Ghent has a new vegan place to be. We loved everything, the flavours, the service and the interior! We were there on a Monday evening and it was quite crowded, so I would recommend to make a reservation. We Will definitely be back for more!

Excellent addition to Ghent's vegan scene - Edit
I had to double check that Yusu was all vegan. It doesn't shout about it at all, but sure enough it is.
Read moreWe went here for lunch and got nems, gyozas, tofu, and a large jasmine rice. Everything was delicious. The nems in particular were a stand out - we're usually good at sharing but both of us wanted the last one!
There's a little area for kids to play, and the place was bright and clean. Highly recommended!

Fabulous food! - Edit
We were here on a week day for lunch, and we were lucky we were early, bc it soon filled up. Very popular place. So definitely advised to make a reservation!
Read moreThe menu consists of sharing dishes, or you can opt to have a dish of the day or a sandwich for lunch.
We were advised to take 2 smaller sharing dishes and two larger ones for lunch.
We had:
- moon dumplings 12,5€
- seitan yakitori 8,5€
- seared mushroom 16€
- tofu sam khrua 13,5€
- rice with vegs large 7,5€
Desserts:
- lychee chilli panna cotta 6,50€
- millefeuille 7,50 €
Fabulous food! Homemade, original, nice flavours. We would definitely choose some other/extra dishes next time, as the ones we chose now apparently didn't contain any vegs (apart from the vegs in the baked rice and the dumplings).
Relaxed feel, high ceilings, bright place, lots of light coming in. Open kitchen. It did feel rather busy when full (and loud). Some regular chairs/tables, plus stools at the window sill and a communal table in center. I would love some cushions on those wooden chairs to make it more comfortable 😉
There's a kids play area at the entrance.
Service friendly, a bit reserved. They could definitely use an extra pair of hands for service, as now one person was in charge of taking orders, making drinks, serving food, clearing tables ... Which led to some long waits. Our lunch was a bit over 2 hours.
Not accessible: step to get in, large step inside restaurant room (maybe the side entrance near the kitchen is?). No accessible toilet. One toilet, clean. I did ran out of toilet paper 😬. Love the individual towels to dry ones hands 👍
This is were Superkelly used to be. The layout of the restaurant floor largely remained the same, but is restyled somewhat (different wall colours and interior items).

Lekker gegeten - Edit
Lekker gegeten, onze gerechten kwamen wel niet op hetzelfde moment waardoor mijn partner’s eten afgekoeld was toen mijn gerecht kwam. Wel echt echt super lekker en leuke inrichting, en vriendelijk.

Amazing place and delicious food! - Edit
So last week we went to check out YUSU, a new restaurant that just opened up in Gent. Yusu is the passion project of Su Wong, who previously worked as the cook in Superkelly, a very popular restaurant at the same location. So we already knew about the amazing cooking skills of Su before we set foot in this new iteration. Now let me be straight up here: this place is an absolute gem! Yusu offers 100% plant-based food and it's absolutely delicious.
Read moreThe concept is simple: Su creates Thai sharing dishes where you can basically mix a couple of different things from the menu and the outcome is always the same: happy taste buds. We particularly loved the dumplings and the nems. Not only is the food amazing, but also the place exudes comfort and style. Everything in this place is meticulously thought through.
From the food to the visual style of the menu to the logo to the very distinct colorful, stylish interior... everything is done with finesse and superior taste. We were super curious about the person behind all this and were very excited to learn that Su has actually been a vegan herself for 13 years already. She decided that the best way to get people to try out vegan food is by offering them delicious vegan food. Stroke of genius.
We can't recommend this place enough. If you're vegan, try out this place. If you're not vegan, try out this place. If you live in Gent, try out this place. If you don't live in Gent, mark it as a must-stop on your next visit to Gent. You won't regret it.
Snax Headroom gives this place a solid two thumbs up and a 5 out of 5 for vegan awesomeness. Yusu literally means "with Su" in Thai. And that's how it feels. Like coming back home. Yusu feels like a place you didn't realize you needed and once you've been there, you can't imagine how you ever managed without it.
