Serves meat, vegan options available. Japanese restaurant and bar with vegan choices. Menu includes edamame, vegetable gyoza, miso aubergine, grilled tofu steak and vegetable yakisoba. NOTE: Possibly serves fois gras which HappyCow considers an extra cruelty food, but listing remains due to decent vegan offerings. Open Mon-Fri 17:00-23:00, Sat-Sun 12:00-22:30.

Umami! - Edit
The restaurant is very cosy and you don't have to look too long at the menu or ask the staff, because the vegan dishes are labelled and manageable. I chose the set menu with yakisoba and the gyoza as a side dish and also tried the tofu steak. The food was brought super fast and everything was tasty. My favourite was the grilled soft tofu with the mixed mushrooms and the delicious dashi sauce - you can't get more umami than that! The service was so courteous. I would recommend a reservation - even during the week.
Read moreUpdate: Yakisoba is no longer vegan, but vegetarian as they have changed the sauce. There is currently no vegan main dish marked on the menu, but according to the waitress, the ramen is vegan even though it is not labeled as such. The remaining vegan options feel more like starters to me. That’s why I’ve changed my rating to 3 stars.

3/5 - Edit
Not the best for vegans maybe because the choice is limited but overall the food was good! I had higher expectations on gyozas (they were nice but nothing incredible) but I have to say that the miso glazed eggplant was something incredibly delicious! I enjoyed the atmosphere of the place and the staff was friendly #Veganuary

Delicious and comfortable - Edit
Small variety of vegan dishes, but enough to have a good meal for 2.
Read moreWe had the vegan Gyozas which were fantastic. The Tofu with mushrooms and the eggplant were both good, but nothing really special. Next time I will try the Yakisoba.
The place is really nice to eat, it's not loud und the chairs are really comfortable. Recommend!
Pros: Gyoyas!, Atmosphere

Really delicious - Edit
My friend and I wanted to try out Yaki The Emon for a while and finally managed. Even though their variety of vegan options isn't broad we were still amazed. For starters we had Yaki Edamame (grilled Edamame) and vegan Gyoza. Bot were juicy and rich in flavour which pairs well with their options of drinks. For main dishes I had the vegan Yakisoba and Tofu Steak. Both were well made and delicious.
Read moreThe staff was really nice and the place itself is extremely cozy. To round it all up we tried some Japanese Sake of which they offered quite a huge variety.
I would recommend to reserve a seat when you want to come here on a weekend since it can get quite busy and the waiting times can become insane. Still worth the wait.
Pros: Extremely cozy, Rich flavour
Cons: A bit pricy, Long waiting times
