solid wraps

i tried the "Ghost" and "Little Red Riding Hood" wraps — the two options on the menu that didn’t rely on meat substitutes, but were instead packed with veggies and greens. both were solid: ingredients tasted fresh, the portion size felt just right for a meal (and fair for the price), and the presentation seemed intentional and well thought out, but something about the flavor felt a bit incomplete and the vinegar-based dressing tipped the acidity a little too far for my taste. there was no tip screen at checkout; seating is very limited.

Toity-toid and toid

The corner of Third Avenue and Thirty-Third Street is legendary for signaling the old-time thick NYC accent, in which NYers would pronounce the corner as "Toity-toid and toid." This place, which is located at Toity-toid and Toid, is a branch of a place that sells artisanal wraps.

About half the menu is either clearly labeled as vegan or vegan optioned. It is counter serve, with very minimal seating--I ate half of my wrap inside the venue, and took the rest home to eat later. The wraps here I got have all been tasty.

The restaurant was empty of other customers when I arrived. Had it been busy, I would have been concerned about the cross-contamination.

There is no dessert offered here; if you want any, you can get a vegan cookie at Insomnia Cookies across the street.
