Going through social media and the HappyCow app, I thought it would be nice to have lunch at Watchhouse.
Read moreThe place is neat and is well located (2 minutes from Covent Garden).
I was disappointed by several things. When you arrive, a sign tells you to wait to be seated, I’ve been waiting for almost 15 minutes (I was alone) to be seated when there was plenty of empty seats and the staff went through me multiple times…
After being seated, I had to wait 10 more minutes to be able to ask a member of the staff for a menu (because you can’t order though the QR code if you don’t have the app). Then wait again for somebody to come and take the order.
The food arrived quite quickly and the general aspect is nice, the taste is OK, I would think it lacked a bit of seasoning but the bread is well toasted.
When going to pay, I was surprised, that not only the bill wasn’t what I had ordered (they didn’t even have me a detailed receipt) but I ended up paying more than expected.
I won’t recommend this place and will definitely not go back.
If you want to lunch, go someplace else.

Lovely vegan breakfast - Edit
I’ve had the vegan house breakfast and it’s very tasty, fresh, although on the pricey side - but I feel all London brunches are expensive nowadays. You get tempeh, avocado, tomato, and mushrooms on toast. A nice busy atmosphere with more seating downstairs. They also have porridge and vegan non dairy hot drinks too.
