Perfect

One of my favourite restaurants anywhere in the world.

It’s hidden away on a pedestrian street and feels like stepping out of the city and into a tranquil, comfortable space.

The food is unique, full of flavour and super healthy. After eating here I felt fantastic.

Don’t come if you’re in a hurry, she’s one person doing everything but it’s 100% worth the wait. Also, be aware, she’s only open Mon, Tues, Wed.

The owner is the best thing about the restaurant, she’s got a great energy about her and made me feel super welcome.

I loved it so much that I’m going back tomorrow.

10/10

Calm Place

This was the only place in the city I found peaceful, dont come too hungry or expect to order many things from the menu. The main dish was half a lunch even for Japanese Portion sizes

Hidden gem

Outside of the hustle and bustle of Tokyo city, are more remote areas like Nakano. And at about a 15 minute walk from the station you will find "Waha". It's a hidden gem and that's very literal. Apple Maps didn't even try to guide me, it simply said the server didn't know. Google Maps gave it a shot, but in fact dropped me off at the nearest road accessible by car. And here's the trick: Waha is located on a pedestrian only street. It's a wooden hut hidden away in the green (see photo's for hints).

Inside is all wood, recycled furniture and eco style. Waha is a tranquil place where the healthy women of Nakano seem to go. Only calm, leather free, make-up free good girls frequent this place. Only Japanese is spoken and the menu is only available in Japanese. It does have pictures though, so one can simply point and order. Do expect to wait a little, because every order is made from scratch and Waha is a stress free place. Why hurry in such a peaceful environment?

I went for the daily special, which was a huge salad with tomato based curry on the side (no rice though, that's an option). The variety of the ingredients was enormous and everything tasted like top quality bio ingredients. Even the oat milk I ordered was of above average taste and quality.
