Great food/service not so - Edit
We were excited to try this place and were mildly disappointed, but only due to the service. Food was amazing! But we sat for 10 mn without anyone bringing water. Another 10 to ask for wine and answer menu questions, and 5 to ask to place our order. We never knew who our actual server was. No one checked on us or made us feel welcome. I really wish someone was better managing their service staff.

Loved it here - Edit
Highly recommend for a flavorful vegan night out!
Read moreCelebrated a friend’s birthday here over an early vegan dinner. The place was quiet when we arrived for our 5:45 reservation but filled up quickly and was buzzing by the time we left.
Started off strong with some craft cocktails and the apricot “meatballs” appetizer which was packed with sweet and savory flavor. A great start.
The roasted broccoli was a standout—so flavorful it didn’t even need the vegan hollandaise it came with (though it was a nice bonus).
I had the vegan Diane, which was rich and satisfying. The vegan Parmesan was solid, but I would’ve loved a bit more sauce to tie it all together.
We wrapped up the evening by wishing my friend a happy birthday over a killer brownie topped with creamy vanilla ice cream. Tasted amazing and felt like the perfect way to celebrate.

Probably the best we have ever had? - Edit
True fine dining experience. Everything was delicious. Had crab cakes, the salad wedge, and the Diane. Recommend everything we had.

Upscale vegan dining! - Edit
Finally, an upscale vegan spot in SD! We’ll be coming here for all special occasions. We had the Parker house rolls, ceaser salad, eggplant parm, cassoulet, and baked Alaska. We also had fancy cocktails. Everything was good! I think the rolls were actually the stand-out. Excellent service and gorgeous atmosphere too.

so cool! - Edit
We had the table bread, hash brown, caesar, cobb, and baked alaska.

Salads were really good too but sometimes the simplest things are the best! We LOVED the bread. Baked alaska was so so good too. Everything ended up being about $100 flat for two people, which seemed low to me for fine dining.
We didn’t do drinks because they seemed overpriced — $10 for a shirley temple (non alcoholic) was kind of a what the heck moment.

Deliciously Upscale! - Edit
The lion's mane mushroom Steak Diane was pricey but superb, more "steak like" than anything I've eaten in 28 years as a vegan. The broccolini with Hollandaise sauce was spot on, and the Baked Alaska dessert was a feast!

Leave No Crumbs—Like a Vulture - Edit
Started with the most flavorful French Onion soup, followed up by the must-try table side Caesar Salad and the best eggplant parmigiana—I have ever had!! For dessert we shared the strawberry cheesecake and the carrot cake with a miso-fig cream.

Finally an upscale vegan spot in sd - Edit
Great food, great ambiance, stellar service. Do not skip the table side Caesar. Everything was delicious, but I was slightly disappointed in the lions mane mushroom entre and the bolognese, they were good but not great.

Vegan Fine Dining! - Edit
My boyfriend and I are not usually fine dining people, but it was our anniversary — and since we love Kindred and Mothership, we figured why not. We had high expectations, and we were not disappointed. Even with a reservation, we waited about 15 minutes, but we grabbed a drink at DREAMBOAT to start the night, so we did not mind.
Read moreWe ordered the pâté, French onion soup, steak, bolognese, and baked Alaska. Everything was delicious. I especially loved the French onion soup—it used to be my favorite before going vegan, and I had not had a vegan version before. The cocktails (as always with any of their spots) were fantastic.
As expected with fine dining, portions were on the smaller side and the prices were higher, but we still left feeling very full. The service was a little slow at times, but everyone was incredibly kind and attentive when they were around. The menu also had a decent mix of veggie-forward dishes and vegan “replacements.”
It is probably not somewhere we will go often due to the price tag, but we will definitely return. We had a wonderful evening!

vegan upscale dining at its best - Edit
Vulture is incredible and it’s just what San Diego needed. everything from the ambience to the food is perfect. the knickerbocker cocktail, rockefeller (which was served on fire), tableside caesar salad, chef’s special pasta (mushroom tortellini right now), lion’s mane diane steak, baked alaska, and brownie with ice cream were all excellent. my favorite was the diane steak, the flavor and texture was unreal. all the servers were attentive, welcoming, and kind. definitely a must try and i can’t wait to go back!

SUCH. A. VIBE - Edit
I mean come on, they never miss. Got a res for their soft opening weeks and it was immaculate. We tried a bunch of things and all of them were divine. The spinach artichoke “oyster” appetizer was so fun and such a cool take on a classic app. They light the lemon on fire with absinthe and the presentation was rad. Presentation and experience were the main theme here, from the speakeasy style entrance, to plate changes between courses and multiple options to be prepared table side. We got the table side caesar- they warned us was done in a queue so it would come at some point during our meal, if we wanted it coursed out they could prepare in the kitchen. We opted for the table side, our salad did unfortunately end up coming after our entree which was a little bummer BUT i’m sure a kink they’ll work out as time continues. Salad was great! we did the bolognese and my bf got the lions mane “steak” both were next level. We also had to try the “hashbrown” side which might be the best potato i’ve ever had. Texture was insane and the spicy sauce with it was so delish.
