Best vegan pizza - Edit
Everything we got was amazing. We got garlic knots, pasta, pizza and ice-cream. It was the best vegan pizza we have had yet. It is always nice going to a vegan restaurant and not worrying about double checking the ingredients list. I would definitely go there more often if we lived close enough to.

The pizza is weak - Edit
I’m no stranger to vegan pizza. For reference my favourites include Apiecalypse Now! (RIP) Toronto and Pi in Seattle. The pizza they serve at Virtuous Pie does not stand up. I think it would be more accurate to call it a flatbread. Or to put it another way, if you like your pizza light on the crust, light on the sauce, light on the cheese, and light on the toppings you’ll love this place. Seriously, the cheese they use has some magical property that means it totally vanished in the oven.

Probably the best gluten-free (celiac-friendly), vegan pizzas there are. I miss the UBC location but still occasionally take the trip halfway across the city to enjoy their pizza. The gluten-free dough is better than any regular gluten pizza I’ve ever had.

Best ice cream in the city! - Edit
The service was exceptional—everyone was friendly and accommodating, offering to bring me water and even delivering all the food to the table, despite it being counter service. The pizza was incredibly flavorful, and the vegan ice cream is hands down the best I've had in the city. The cookies and cream flavor is loaded with cookie chunks, and its creamy consistency is perfect. Unlike many vegan ice creams that have a coconut flavor, this one doesn’t have that at all. I’m not sure if it’s made with cashew milk, but what I do know is that it’s absolutely delicious. I can't wait to return!

Delicious place for lunch or a simple dinner. Split the jalapeño popper pizza with my partner today and we both thought it was great. It’s a thin crust pizza and not overloaded with fake cheese and such. I would have split the large one but I’m so glad we didn’t has we had room for vegan ice cream. Had the chocolate caramel shortbread and we both thought it was incredibly good. Would totally come here again, folks working here were also really nice.

We ordered garlic knots, superfunghi pizza, an Indian pizza that isn’t on the menu anymore, ice cream, and cannoli.

Pizza- good but a little light on the sauce. I’d probably pay extra for add on sauces next time.
Ice cream- I got pumpkin spice and it was so flavorful and creamy! Definitely get it in a cone.
Cannoli- I’ve never had it before, so maybe I just don’t like cannoli, but this was not my favorite. The filling seemed to overwhelm the shell. Also, be sure to eat it right away- I saved mine until the next day and it was soft, almost soggy. Don’t make that mistake!

Creative pizzas - Edit
Lots of creative pizza options. We tried the marinara/cheese pizza and the jacket potato pizza (which contains thin slices of potato, bacon, blue cheese sauce…reminiscent of blue cheese potato chips we used to eat). They also had a stranger wings (buffalo cauliflower) and sweet Mary Jean (caramelize onion, jam and bacon), along with several creative options you don’t normally see elsewhere. Thin crust, extremely delicious, and served piping hot. The kale Caesar salad was soft and flavorful. Friendly and welcoming staff, there are three long picnic tables at this location so during busy times, be prepared to please share table with other diners (this is a practice very common in Chinatown restaurants so the vibe is perfect). They also have a location in Victoria BC and Portland, Oregon.

Simple, small pizzeria. The setting isn’t ideal for a first date, more of a fast food feeling. That said, the staff is friendly and the focus is on the pie. Apart from home made ones, this is hands off the best pizza I’ve had since going vegan.

VP is completely plant-based and is absolutely amazing. This was seriously the best vegan pizza I have ever had. We had the garlic knots, Sgt. Pepperoni pizza with hot “honey,” and an incredible ice cream sandwich.
