You walk into Veggie Sue's and there's a veritable feast of vegan options, which you can order as full or (often) half rations. Our favorites were the lasagna and the pasta with beets. The desserts were delicious; I had the cheesecake.

Amazing Huge Buffet - Edit
This is an amazing place, there are more than 20 different homemade plates. You can buy a "ración" (portion) or half a "ración" portion. We asked for a few half portions. They were truly huge, we had to take the rest to go cause we were full. We were served by owner who was extremely nice. She even gave us some sweets as a present. We read that it was mostly a take away place but we found a very nice shop with several tables so we ate there. Above all, everything was very cheap, so a perfect choice if you're traveling on a budget. Will definitely come back.

I had a lunch at Veggie Sue's and see it more like a "take away" rather than a restaurant. They have a lot of pre-made food in display and for each you can choose to have a dose or half a dose. The variety is immense and the lady is super nice going through all the options and explaining them.
Read moreYou can choose to have it in a box to take and heat at home, or they will heat it (microwave) right there in a plate. It's not my thing normally, but it's quite cheap, so you can't ask for a lot. And, to be fair, the food was very tasty, I saw myself wishing it was a normal restaurant where I could eat that same tasty food, but freshly cooked (for a different price of course).
The cheesecake was quite nice (and that one doesn't need a Microwave😄:) ).
All in all I would recommend trying it if you're in Salamanca.

I went here for lunch in March 2023. They offer a set lunch of the day, but you can also choose from more than 20 items in the display case. Currently, each item is 6 Euros for a full big serving, or 3.50 for a half portion. I decided to get a half portion of potaje (garbanzos, spinach and seasoning), and a bowl of quinoa with vegetables. I also got a teeny tiny dessert for one Euro so my total was only eight euros (did not include a drink). The food that I had was very good and the service was friendly. I would definitely come here because you can see all the food in the display case and not have to guess what you're getting, which is what happens when you look at a paper menu.

I only stopped at Veggie Sue's for some takeout, so I didn't get the full experience, but I had a wonderful experience. The staff was very warm and friendly and explained each dish. This is a great place to go for savory, warm, and filling foods (something that can be a struggle sometimes for vegans in Spain). There are also some other vegan sweets and items for purchase. I got the Moroccan cous cous and Thai style noodles.

Read moreFui con mi hija 🌱 a comer y llevé a mi escéptica y omni madre, anteayer. Es un pequeño y coqueto local con unas cuatro mesas, donde todo lo cocinado está expuesto tras unas amplias vitrinas. Comida rica casera, para tomar allí o llevar, que esto segundo es lo que parece que sucede más. Mucha variedad, platos de cuchara tradicionales (legumbres, pastas, arroces, albóndigas, filetes rusos, lasagna, falafel, etc etc ) y tartas que entran por los ojos y mejor al buche 🤪 muy bien presentados.
Todo se puede elegir en ración media o entera.
Además venden los productos Rollito Vegano.
Lo lleva una pareja encantadora. Ella se tomó el tiempo de explicar cada plato.
Cómo no, hay que probar el mayor número posible de cosas, así que pedí 6 medias raciones: paella, penne con nata, lombarda con piñones, rusitos, mousaka y albóndigas. De postre, la nena un helado tipo Magnum y mi madre y yo, tarta de queso cubierta con fresa.
Madre omni, en su línea de no mostrar emociones, reconoció que "bueno, no está mal" , que traducido quiere decir "pues luego le contaré a mis amigas lo rico y moderno que he comido en ese localito al que me llevó mi hija la vegana" 😂. Recomiendo encarecidamente. Reservad antes! #Veganuary

Casi todos los platos que ofertan son veganos, incluyendo los dulces (es recomendable preguntar primero). Se puede tomar allí o para llevar en recipientes de plástico. Las veces que he ido ha sido siempre para comer allí, ya que los dos son muy simpáticos y serviciales y se está bastante a gusto allí.

Puedes pedir media ración o el plato entero. Las tartas están de escándalo. No le pongo todas las estrellas porque no es estrictamente vegano.
