Funky vegan restaurant from the future - Edit
Sharing Asian experience with great value for money. Super low-key, colourful space with friendly staff and moreish food. There’re many dishes you can share with a friend to discover new flavours. My fav are: summer rolls, pho soup, curry and bao buns. They organise fun events like disco evenings and offer special chef menu in attractive price. Drinks are just toooo good! And it’s worth trying their magic lemonade - very instagramable 🤗 the space is big, I just organised there bday dinner for 20 people and they still could host additional guests. The place is 100% vegan and gluten-free dishes are possible.

Large Portion Sizes & Nice Vibes - Edit
Really nicely decorated restaurant, staff was very attentive and answered all our questions. The portion sizes and presentation of the dishes were great, and it was not ridiculously overpriced.
Read moreThe umami fries were amazing and creative, but everything else we tried was a bit bland (tom kha soup, cauliflower, 2 cakes). Everything was kind of one-note, and lacked either a bit of salt, some acid, or something to give it more depth of flavor. Would definitely try it again and order different dishes, as it was an overall nice experience!
Pros: enough seating & friendly staff, not overpriced, colorful place, nice presentation
Cons: kind of bland

Asian inspired bites 🌱 - Edit
Nice concept of various bites and other small dishes. Menu includes bites, salads, bao buns, stir fry options and soups. The restaurant was fully booked (Saturday night), so I suggest to make a reservation in case you want to visit during the weekend. Food was tasty and fresh. We needed to wait quite a bit for our food or to order. It happened twice that all the dishes arrived at our tabel except one which arrived 25min later.

Just amazing - Edit
Went to Veganees yesterday for the second time. It was an amazing experience! The staff is very kind, flexible in adapting dishes because of allergies (onion/garlic), the food is great and the atmosphere very cosy.
Read moreWe ordered some dishes to share. I especially loved the gyozas, tahoe satay, gado gado, and Shanghai fry.
Edamame and Korean fried cauliflower were also very nice. The samosas and summer rolls were not too special.
Will definitely come back here!
Pros: A lot of good vegan options , Adaptive to allergies, Lovely atmosphere
Cons: It is a bit pricey

Great concept, good vibes, food hit and miss - Edit
The concept of sharing Asian tapas is great and we had a good time. The food was a hit and miss: KFC nice and spicy, papaya salad missed sweetness and spiciness for my taste. Fully vegan, though, which deserves a sign of appreciation 🫶

Meh - Edit
Went for dinner but didn't think it was anything special. Tom kha was a bit watery and the summer roll was bland/boring (no tofu, no herbs). Cauliflower was sweet in not a good way, it tasted a bit like oliebol.
Read moreBest thing we had was the Mango Madness cocktail (though seemed more like a mocktail) and the crisp tempeh bao bun.
I think you're better off going to a regular Asian restaurant.

Good atmosphere, good food, few missers - Edit
Veganees is a very fresh concept. Love the disco kind of atmosphere they are pulling. Staff is kind and came to serve us quickly. However, the tables are very tightly set up next to each other, so if it is busy you might not feel inclined having a deeper conversation with the person you visit the restaurant with. Besides, we ordered kimchi which was definitely at least two peppers spicy, but which was not indicated on the menu.
Read morePros: Fresh and unique atmosphere, Kind staff, Food is mostly very tasty
Cons: Tables are set up tight which distorts privacy, Kimchi way too spicy although not indicated , Some recipes are a bit pricy for what you get

Their excellent soup earned them the fourth star. The rest… not that impressive. I did really like the buns I ordered, but the bahn mi was terrible!

Excellent Dinner - Edit
My wife, daughter and I attended Veganees during our holiday to Amsterdam. The service was very good and the food even better. Similar to Wagamama in that the food comes out once it’s ready. We recommend getting a variety of dishes and then sharing them. The cauliflower wings were the highlight of the meal.

Modern twists on Asian dishes - Edit
Excellent restaurant with modern twists on Asian classics. The kimchi toastie with umami fries was naughty but delicious. The spicy tomato juice was made fresh before being served and was perfect. Noodles with okra and gyozas were also very good. Everything plant based/vegan!

Lost our minds - Edit
If I could rate this higher I would. We started there for lunch: bloody Marys, banh mi, kimchi sandwich, Korean cauliflower wings, baos. We loved the baos and cauliflower wings. The sandwiches were great too! BUT we came back from dinner the same day and order 12 baos and a large soup for the 2 of us. The last 8 baos we're extremely spicy for some reason, I don't think they wanted us to order more baos lol
