Only fully vegan in Funchal - Edit
I really enjoyed it here. True, what I really wanted was something authentically Portuguese or Madeiran, but I've yet to find a veganised version of anything here. So, with a limited menu due to them closing for holidays soon, I had the hummus to start, and the lasagne for main. As someone who has eaten many a vegan ragu in Italy, I was dubious about this one, but was very pleasantly surprised. Very rich and tasty. The house white wine was good too.

Tasty highlight in Funchal - Edit
After a few days of looking for real vegan dishes in other places we were really happy to find this restaurant. From the large variety of starters and main dishes we chose traditional garlic bread first. From the mains we chose the sea rainbow bowl, Spaghetti carbonara and two different burgers. As a dessert we received a cinnamon role and a chocolate cupcake. Everything was fresh and tasty. The service was friendly and attentive. No wishes remains and we would always be back in a minute.

Good food but a bit pricey - Edit
We were quite excited to try out this place as it seems to be the only vegan place on Madeira. We had a mushroom burger and the lasagne which were both good but we would have hoped to try something different and maybe traditional Madeiran, which was missing. We were thinking of dishes with bananas or banana blossom since it's an island full of tasty bananas.

Pros: Tasty food, Friendly staff, Great cheesecake
Cons: A bit on the pricey side, No extraordinary dishes

We visited Mundo Vegan for dinner and were very happy with the offered options. We went for risotto and gnocchi and both were very delicious. The prices are a bit on the higher end but the quality of the food is also very good. For dessert they offer various cakes and ice cream. Indoor and outdoor seating are very nice!

This was our second time here. Once again, we had a delicious and healthy meal. No standard dishes, just an original menu! The desserts were probably less healthy but very good!

Really good but expensive - Edit
The staff is really nice and everything we tried tasted great. Try the brownies or cinnamon rolls as a dessert if they have them.
Read moreThe menu offers quite sone options but many of the choices are rather common, e.g. a curry as you would find it as the vegan option in many restaurants. I would have liked more exeptional choices. It is quite expensive.

Change your plans to come here. - Edit
What a relief and joy to find a vegan restaurant, and some actual choice!
Read moreAs the previous review says, lots of options for everyone (we also chose burgers!)
We had garlic bread, burgers, smoothies, and all followed with cookies/cinnamon buns/ice cream.
Ate far far too much, but kids were happy to have cake, and we were happy to have options.
The staff are super friendly and kind!
Pros: A choice of desserts and meals, Nice toilets, Lovely staff
Cons: Ate way too much

Amazing vegan cafe - Edit
The staff are delightful and as was all the food. Highly recommend! They also provided a baby seat for those of you with wee kids. Great coffee too. Loads of options too, so I think there'd be something to suit everyone - salads, smoothies, burgers, pasta, Buddha bowls etc.

Good - Edit
Nice place, good vibes , polite staff. It's great to have a place that's all vegan, I wouldn't say the options are too exciting but also I did order the burger so that's my own fault. However the burger was good!!

10/10 for vegans in Funchal - Edit
Being a vegan in Funchal you definitely have to try that place. Though it’s about a 45 min walk from the center of Funchal (but there are several bus options), we would always go there again! We had bruschetta as a starter which was absolutely amazing. As main course we had the spaghetti carbonara and the rainbow bowl and both were fantastic in taste. The service was very friendly, attentive and fast. The outsize sitting are was very cozy and quiet.

Nice place to eat - Edit
It is very nice that there is a vegan restaurant in Funchal, located in hotel area. Big plus for healthy options as bowls. We took bowl which was healthy but unfortunately it was cold like taken directly from the fridge. Burger with fries was nice. Restaurant is very nice inside and very friendly staff. Worth to go while staying in Funchal

Great Vegan Restaurant with Excellent Service - Edit
I visited Mundo Vegan – Vegan World together with my girlfriend, and we had a truly wonderful experience. Right when we entered, we noticed the pleasant atmosphere ~ calm, warm, and accompanied by relaxing music in the background. You immediately feel comfortable and welcome.
Read moreWe really appreciate that the restaurant is entirely vegan.
We chose the Umami Burger with mushroom, beans and herbs as well as a special lemonade. Since we already know the Beyond Meat patty, we wanted to try the mushroom patty this time ~ and it was a very good choice: fresh, flavorful, and pleasantly light. The lemonade was freshly prepared, which you could taste right away: refreshing, natural, and not too sweet.
We found it particularly thoughtful that we briefly mentioned to the waitress that we would like to share the burger ~ and to our surprise, it arrived already cut in half at our table. < 3
Because we enjoyed the food so much, we treated ourselves to dessert: the chocolate cookie and a scoop of mango ice cream. The cookie was one of the best I’ve had in a long time ~ aromatic and clearly homemade. The mango ice cream was also fantastic: fruity and with an intense, natural mango flavor.
Overall, it was a great experience ~ delicious food, a relaxed atmosphere, and a place we will definitely visit again. Highly recommended!

A must visit! - Edit
You have to visit Mundo vegan when you’re in Funchal!
Read moreI found that the opening times were a little strange, e.g. they closed at 6pm on a Saturday and weren’t open on some days of the week.
The food and the whole experience was worth it though!
We thought that the menu was a bit disappointing to be honest.
I got the bean burger and my partner got the burger with a fake meat patty. Like every bean burger, my was falling apart as I ate it but the flavours were great and the accompaniments worked well. My partners burger was also very good but the flavours were pretty much the same as mine. The chips though oh my!! Probably the best chips I’ve had in my life. Crispy but soft on the inside!!
We got ice cream for dessert. I got the chocolate in a waffle cup and my partner got pistachio. Both were really good.
The vibe was a little off as we went at 5pm. No one else was there and it felt like the staff were just watching us. Overall though, well worth a visit!
