Despite the name, this is a vegetarian restaurant with vegan options (please inquire). Located lakeside in the previous location of The Juicery. Has stayed vegetarian with a similar menu to before. Most ingredients are sourced locally in nearby organic farms or grow in the home garden. NOTE: Burger buns are reportedly not vegan. Smoking is reportedly permitted in the eating area. NOTE: Please verify if still fully vegetarian. Open Mon-Sun 7:00am-9:00pm.

Best place in town for sure!

The food is fresh and delicious, the portions giant (something it's really too much), the staff is very friendly!
We spend months in pokhara eating there almost every day. Even when we tried other places we were disappointed and always get back to the vegan way😄

Pros: Lots of vegan options ( you can always ask), Cheapest in town, The best place

Cons: If really something, toilets are not incredible...

BEST IN POKHARA

Don’t even think twice on where to eat when you arrive in Pokhara. Just go here!!! I ate many places, and there is no doubt that Vegan way is THE BEST in Pokhara. The food is fresh, washed in clean water and much of the produce is organic. The dishes are focused around being health conscious and you can even find raw vegan items on the menu! The portions are HUGE and so damn tasty! When you order something with avocado/guacamole you will actually receive a small mountain of it (unlike back in Europe). The vibe is beautiful, there are Kirtan chanting and daily yoga classes on the premessis and for many people (including myself) hanging out and enjoying the delicious dishes at vegan way is a daily occorance when in Pokhara. Tips: the buddhabowl and the super green garden salad are AMAZING, but nothing TOPS the VEGAN DELIGHT PLATE! Thank me later ☺️

Pros: The largesg portions, Health focused food, Beautiful location

Cons: Lots of smoking , Waiting time

Not bad..but not great

A good place to go if you're hungry but can be pricey. Food options were ok but the taste was lacking in my opinion. Service was good

Pros: Service

Cons: Taste of food

Delicious thali

Delicious thali, not everything is vegan but it’s marked well and they can make adjustments. Wasn’t busy at all, food was kind of slow but otherwise good service

Restaurant name is a misnomer

This place should be renamed smoker's way. You would think a cafe/ restaurant naming themselves Vegan way would be a vegan exclusive menu. Maybe it was originally and changed ownership?

The menu is hodgepodge of vegan and non vegan.

I had a smoothie bowl which was warm. Not bad, nothing special.

I attempted to go a second time as no staff was coming to my table and every other table in the place was puffing away on cigarettes , I decided to leave.

Maybe I missed the memo about it being more of a smokers cafe than a vegan one. Hence my suggestion to change the name. Clear everything up that way.

Pros: Some vegan options

Cons: Non vegan despite menu, Inattentive staff , Too much smoking

Awesome place...until a strange incident

Delicious vegan options, but not clearly labeled - the burgers are advertised with vegan aioli but when you ask if the whole burger is vegan they say no (because of the bun). NONE of their burgers is vegan, even here on Happy Cow people posted pictures because they assumed they are vegan. THEY ARE NOT!

The atmosphere is very relaxed, but too many guests are smoking weed or cigarettes in the eating area so if you are sensitive to smoke, its sometimes no fun (i left a few times because of the smoke).

I visited this place for a week 1 or 2 times a day, then something very unpleasant happened. I had dinner with friends, but left earlier. After a while they whatsapped me if i paid. Of course i did, i even remembered the dialogue i had with the staff lady. My friends told me that the staff claim i did not pay and pressure them now to pay for me. I was shocked and felt insulted, i spent so much money and time there, this place was my living room, how dare they to say i did not pay?! And even pressuring my friends? Of course my friends believed me and did not pay. I was so angry that i avoided the place for a few days but than decided to go back and see what they say. Well, they said nothing and therefore i see three possibilities:
a) After they managed the invoice that evening, they noticed all ordered food was paid
or
b) they confused me with somebody else
or
c) the lady remembered that i paid.

No idea what it was, but that is no way to treat a customer. So insulting.

Namaste,
We are extremely sorry to hear that you had a unpleasant experience at our café. Our whole team would like to apologize regarding your inconvenience, We would be happy if you can clarify the mentioned things above.
Firstly, None of our crew members wrote you on what's app regarding the payment message that you have claimed, we never asked or force your friend to pay your invoice neither we ask anyone's payment with the third person. If this was the case you could asked and discuss with us in detail in your next visit which you did not, instead you took the picture of our menu without our permission.

Regarding the burger you are claiming, we don't sell vegetarian burger claiming to be vegan, we use our own sourdough bread for vegan option.
Please note that we are not advertising ourselves as a fully vegan restaurant as some of our food menu uses eggs and milk too. However, we have plenty of vegan option for salad, smoothies, coffee, burger, toast and many more.
We are one of the popular happening cafe in town so we do have lots of people who smoke but we also provide non smoking areas for our guest upon request.

We hope to meet your requirements and clear the misunderstanding and misleading information in your next visit.
Have a wonderful day!!

Large portions, labelled vegan items

A bit pricier than other restaurants, but only by a bit and the portions are huge. Food is served quite quickly and there’s nice seating at the back with a view of the lake. Super hippie vibe with a lot of weed smoking. A bit disappointed at the limited vegan options, but they are labelled and you can definitely modify as needed.

Pros: Vegan options, Generous portions, Range of Western dishes

Cons: Not that many vegan options despite the cafe name

Yes it’s not VEGAN, but vegetarian with some vegan options.

Nice hippie vibe place with good vegetarian and vegan food. But I can’t go there anymore because I visited twice and both times it was many smoking people next to my table.

One of my favourite places in Pokhara

Really like this place, I’ve been a few times in Pokhara. My favourite is the Thali for 450 rupees.

The staff are really friendly and most of the time it’s very chilled out (except when some customers play music).

They have a good amount of vegan options, everything else is vegetarian. I’d love to see a vegan dessert option other than an energy ball though!

Pros: Friendly staff , Good amount of vegan options

Cons: Not actually vegan despite the name , Needs some vegan desserts!

Best place in Nepal

The place is wonderful, you can spend hours and hours chilling there enjoying the food, the views and the company. The portions are huge, my favourites are the smoothies and the porridges. The staff is super nice and friendly. They also have vegan energy balls and vegan lemon cake.
Just watch out with the butter, if you order the soup with bread ask for no butter on the bread.
