Terrible and dishonest - Edit
We have been going to vegan and vine for a while now. A couple weeks ago we read the board showing kids eat free on Thursday's. So we took the kids two weeks ago on a Thursday and sure enough it was free for them. We thought wow that’s amazing. So we thought this morning, also a Thursday. We are and when the check came noticed the kids meals were on the bill. No biggie, so we said something to the server. He hadn’t heard of this so he contacted the owner (who was there last time we went and the kids ate free) the owner said “kids have never eater free”. So I mentioned the board which still says Thursday’s kids eat free. She then told him if it was in the board it was from a few weeks ago and I haven’t updated it. He sent her a picture of the board and she stopped responding to him. The kids did not eat free today, which would have been no big deal if it wasn’t advertised as so. We have enjoyed this place many many times, and because of the way this was handled we will not be going back. The first time we saw kids eat free was and of march. Then we went back April 10th they are free and went back today and she acted like it wasn’t a thing. April 10th there were a few tables with kids eating free. It appears the owner indulges in the vine aspect of the business often. Dishonesty lost you very faithful customers. That picture was taken today

Mixed feelings - Edit
I wanted to like it m ore and the staff was very kind, but we tried multiple items and they were all somewhat mediocre. It's kind of an old school vegan restaurant that you don't see much of anymore, each dish was edible but had flaws (i.e. balsamic marinated portobellos on the flatbread clashed a bit, buffalo sandwich was very sweet, etc.)

Disappointed - Edit
One unique feature - the bathroom included toilets for small children, a unique and thoughtful feature. However, not what I personally require at a restaurant!
Read moreThis is sadly just a little more upscale and inventive version of the modern genre of vegan restaurants that offers primarily processed and really quite unhealthy and tough-on-digestion faux meat and cheese offerings for tongues still addicted to the carnivorous originals.
Vegetarianism (of which veganism is obviously a sub-set) is NOT "plant-based" processed pap! It's vegetables, herbs, spices, grains, legumes, fruits etc prepared in all manner of informed, delicious, fresh and both simple and sophisticated ways, offering a vast potential menu of delicious, healthful, nutritious and satisfying preparations.
And I am sooo fed up with the proliferation of uneducated boring faux cooking of faux meats that represents 90% of so-called vegan "restaurants" today!
Vegan and Vine is a little better than most, but not enough for me to want to go back. Their portions are indeed small for the price, and I had to get 2 appetizers and a main - expensive, and still not satisfying.
One thing is, I don't personally care much for garlic (or onion) - and it's frustrating to eat at restaurants that imagine such to be the primary, if not only, sources of flavor. My own kitchen boasts between 30 and 40 different herbs and spices to provide so very many nuances of flavor!
So, while they obligingly omitted the garlic from my Brussels sprouts and sauteed mushroom appetizers, boring! The tiny drizzle of balsamic on the sprouts could have been at least double, and enhanced with a little tamari, and maybe a little smoked paprika. And the mushrooms would certainly have benefited from some tamari, and either black pepper, or a littke chipotle or ...
While the small bowl of tomato soup had way too many (dried) herbs in it making it both bitter and chewy!
And aside from those, and salads (which I do little of, especially in the cold season), there were no actual cooked vegetable dishes!
Talk about 'cultural misappropriation'😉- seriously, vegan/vegetarian restaurants that barely bother with vegetables!?!

I have been there a few times, and I concur.... small portions and high prices for average "Vegan" food

Disappointing portion sizes - Edit
Tasty food, but was disappointed at the portion sizes we received for the price. However the beignets were the star of the show, and VERY tasty.

Disappointed - Edit
I ordered the supreme flatbread and I was disappointed. It was not flatbread but more like pizza. Flatbread should be flat and crispy and this was much more doughy than I prefer. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere nice but the food disappointed.

This place is unorganized and needs to simplify the menu and just focus on making less and making it better. Defiantly better vegan restaurants in Phoenix.

The service was really great, not too noisy of a restaurant and everybody was very polite from the hostesses to the kitchen staff. Wide selection of different dishes and a cool bar area, which in the USA I’ve never seen a vegan bar before!

It’s ok, I liked it - Edit
I don’t want to hate on this restaurant it was totally fine but nothing that blew my mind. The Mac was good, we also got the Buffalo cauliflower for an appetizer and that was probably the most flavorful. My sandwich was a regular sandwich and my husbands burger was a regular burger. There was live music which was nice, everything was fine.

Fantastic Burger and Chicken Sandwich - Edit
Wife and I visited for the first time and were thrilled with the food! The fried onion rings (special) were amazing with the light tempura style breading. Then I had the burger while my wife had the chicken sandwich and both were amazing! I could probably afford to go a little lighter on the mayo next time though. 23 also had the crème brûlée. For a vegan option, it was great and I was pleasantly surprised. Beignets were also amazing! Can’t wait to go back for more!

Amazing Service - Edit
The menu is a little all over the place but is 100% vegan (always a huge bonus). We had the chips and salsa, Caesar salad (my favorite - so hard to find vegan), and garlic knots. The knots came with an incredible cheese sauce that we ended up buying more of to take home. We also got a pizza to go. It was a great experience with very friendly service. #Veganuary
