Quaint Local Vegan Cafe - Edit
My wife and I had a late breakfast there while we were in Brussels. They open at 10:00 am and we were the first customers of the day. The owner was very friendly and speaks fluent English! She pointed out that this was a vegan place (not the only place during our trip where people would make this type of comment). We ordered our drinks, asked her a couple of questions and ordered. We both got muffins and shared the quiche. The muffins were fresh and really great! The quiche was very good but neither my wife or I was crazy about the cold quinoa side even though the taste wasn't bad. This is a distance away from the main tourist area so felt very "local". Definitely worth a visit if you are in Brussels!

Vegan 💯 - Edit
Wonderful restaurant! 🍽️ All the dishes are very tasty — this is not fast food, but real homemade cooking made with love. I especially enjoyed the fresh pastries and the basil drink — absolutely delicious! I’ll definitely come back again. 💚

Off the chart vegan quiche ! - Edit
Off the chart vegan faux goat cheese and mushroom quiche followed by pistachio infused carrot cake. Heaven in Brussels ! A glass of wine would have been perfect, alas, that was not an option.

Overpriced - Edit
Overpriced, especially since the ingredients didn’t seem to be organic, I didn’t see any mention of it. The taste was okay but not that good.
Read moreHygiene didn’t seem great either; I saw the person from the kitchen using her gloves to touch a door handle and then touch directly the food.
They seemed to care more about their regulars. At the end, the woman handed me the receipt with a cold “There” — no thank you, no smile, no goodbye, just rudeness. The place looks cozy, but the experience was not. Not going back for sure and not recommending it.
Pros: The dog
Cons: Rudeness , Attitude , Overpriced

Odd experience - Edit
Lasagna 18€
Read moreDessert 5€
So first I went in and was already told "sorry no more seats" but there were 3 at the window high tables, so I sat down there. Quickly I switched to outside because a table became free.
I took a little to decide and let them explain the dishes to me, I already felt a little "stupid" then. My very words then were "Does the lasagna have fake meat in it?" and without thinking a waitress said "Oh yes yes yes everything is vegan!! No meat!" So I went with the lasagna.
Long story short, it was a pure vegetable lasagna with an unbearable white sauce. No meat and cheese. I ate 1/3 and then told her that there's no meat in it. "Yes of course... it's just vegetables? Why do you not like it?" I responded with "It's simply not to my taste, you surely said there's vegan meat in it"
She immediately felt accused and said she NEVER said that. I assume when I asked before she only listened to "FAKE meat", although it should've been "FAKE MEAT". I went very quiet and kept saying "It's alright, it's alright" although it wasn't. She became angry at me.
Nonetheless, I wanted dessert. I again asked for the option as there was no labelling whatsoever. Now I received a question I've never thought I ever would: "But did you finish your lasagna already?" "No..." and I was left alone and ignored. Excuse me? You can not tell your guest how much they're supposed to finish in order to deserve dessert. I felt treated like a toddler. I simply asked someone else then. The explanation was very non-enthusiastic and I felt annoying again. I chose something simple I forgot the name of, at least that was somehow enjoyable.
At the end I got an apology from her for the "misunderstanding", but it did not feel sincere at all. No discounts, 23€ for an unsatisfying meal I did NOT want. What a shame.

Yummy savoury dishes without any animal suffering. And the cakes are simply delicious, it's the best place for a gourmet dessert with some nice tea! This small café is just lovely and the owner is just as warm and welcoming!

An outstanding Cafe and it is fully Vegan! - Edit
This is probably the best fully Vegan Cafe we have ever experienced in the whole of Europe (including the U.K.)!
Read moreA very warm welcome, the owner is highly accommodating and efficient (it is a busy venue for dine in and take-away) and the food is unbelievably delicious. Usually I leave such places wondering why I can produce more tasty, more nutritious, more exciting and more satisfying meals than the so-called professionals. Not so today at Vegan Chouke!
Every item was absolutely delicious & exciting, the portions enormous and very good value for money.
My husband had the cannelloni and a raspberry and ginger iced tea, followed by cherry tart and espresso coffee. I had quiche and salad followed by an amazing chocolate cake garnished with chopped fruit and a decaffeinated Americano with oat milk. Everything freshly made and wonderfully delicious.
I honestly cannot praise this place enough and am excited that we have two more weeks in Brussel in order to sample more of the wonders this place offers. Tomorrow is Thursday and it is apparently macaroni “cheese” day.
A varied list of sandwiches were on offer too and a lasagne as well as the cannelloni.

Friendly new vegan place in Dansaert - Edit
Tried out this cafe for lunch for the first time recently. It's nice to see a vegan place open in Dansaert! The food is great and there are a range of options for toasties and other hot meals and pastries. The staff are very attentive and happy to talk about your preferences. My only critique is that the coffee is not very good (perhaps because it is not specialty but it is still pricey).

Very nice and promising place - Edit
I came here for lunch and wanted to try one of the toasties, but unfortunately some of the vegan cheeses were unavailable that day. I had the Chouke bowl instead which was pretty nice and filling. I also had a berry crumble tart and tasted the pistachio carrot cake. Overall it was a very nice experience, the food was good (maybe some veggies could use a little more seasoning), and the cakes were great. Prices are fair for central Brussels. I will definitely come back to try the toasties 😁
