Small store which sells products like nuts, seeds, pasta, rice, legumes, dried fruit, spices, oil etc. without packaging. Make sure to bring your own containers, or you could buy them in the store. Also stocks a selection of non-food things like shampoo, dishwasher detergent, toilet paper, toothpaste (little pills you chew before brushing your teeth), and vegan condoms. Relocated from Kurfürstenstraße 49. Open Mon-Fri 11:00-19:00, Sat 09:00-15:00.

Great concept but lacks charm - Edit
The shop offers a variety of food and cleaning and body care products. The prices seem to be okay. I quite liked the raw energy balls which were just the perfect size for trying. And they were very tasty! It's a shame that the interior design is kept completely functional. I would have preferred for the vegan soap bars to be labelled vegan. Reading the list of ingredients, I could make a pretty safe choice, but having them labelled would definitely make it easier for other customers who may not be familiar with various soap ingredients.

Great and friendly eco-friendly shop - Edit
This is the first place in Mainz which offers a wide range of food and non-food items unpackaged. They have a lot of things which you can otherwise only buy wrapped in lots of plastic.
Read moreNot everything is vegan but for those items where it is not obvious (like mueslis, pasta etc.), all the ingredients are listed. They also offer a growing variety of vegan chocolates which are broken and therefore not sold in regular shops by the chocolate manufacturers.
You should bring your own containers (and bottles for oils etc.) when you go there. They have a scale to weigh the empty container so that you just pay for what you actually purchased.
The prices are more expensive than the ones of normal supermarkets (but of course you can buy any quantity you like which might save money) but cheaper than the ones in the organic stores in Mainz.
Pros: Eco-friendly, mostly vegan items, everything clearly marked
