Delicious Soul Food! - Edit
The soul food platter with the added riblets and side of yams was exactly what I needed after a long week. Everything was so flavorful, I truly wished it was bottomless. Staff was fantastic and friendly!

The jackfruit sliders are absolutely amazing. - Edit
The jackfruit sliders were mind blowing. The smoky sauce, great texture, and topped with slaw. Mmmm, delicious.

Great food - Edit
Very creative and tasty vegan soul food! I had a ranch wrap and my friend had a combo platter with vegan ribs, mac 'n' cheese, and collard greens. The wrap was on the pricier side, but pretty large and tasty — and it came with a small side salad.

DELICIOUS - Edit
Such a nice staff. They were so kind to me. And the food is great. I LOVED THE SOUL BOWL. The Mac and cheese is great especially with the cornbread. The greens were amazing too. The cauliflower wings were tasty too but the soul bowl was my favorite. They put this amazing butter on it that makes it so nice. Will be coming back next time I’m in town.

Looove this spot for vegan soul food! - Edit
Trio is a great spot for vegan soul food. Service can be a little slow and parking is sometimes limited, but we have always enjoyed the food and love supporting a vegan restaurant. #Veganuary

Wonderful BBQ sauce! - Edit
1 app, 2 meals, 1 lemonade, 2 dessert
Read moreCauliflower wings w/ BBQ sauce - well cooked, crispy, BBQ sauce sweet n tangy, ranch dipping good (but too small amount)
Double cheeze burger - it's a don't- put-down sandwich, all squishy and juicy on a great pretzel bun.
BBQ jackfruit wrap - great tangy flavor mix of BBQ and coleslaw, maybe too smooshed together (woulda like cold slaw wrapped w hot BBQ for the varied mouth feel)
Strawberry mango lemonade - big chunks of fruit but too small of a serving :)
Jumbo cookie - good flavor, tho too cake-like.
Would not have tossed any of it to the curb; great meal.
Pros: Service was friendly, curious, helpful. , Perfect BBQ sauce
Cons: Bathroom needs professional cleaning!

Disappointed - Edit
Pre-COVID Trio was a great spot. Delicious soul food. But the last two times I’ve gone it’s been very disappointing. The food seems to have lost the soul aspect and has been very greasy.

No thanks - Edit
I was excited to try this place but it was a huge disappointment, my food was not good and I also was missing an item. I ordered online an item that was sold out but still got my money taken without notification, and when I called to try to get it back I was placed on hold for a long time and never got to talk to anyone…. But besides that the food that I had jus wasn’t worth the money.

The ribs, wings, and (especially) collard greens are all super good. The mac and cheese and cookies aren't bad, but I wouldn't say are amazing. I'd definitely go back.

Food was okay - Edit
I couldn’t wait to try this place based on the reviews and menu. I arrived at my designated pick up time and my food wasn’t ready until 30 minutes later, which was inconvenient. I ordered the BBQ pit burger and the onion rings on it were soggy and fell apart. The mac and cheese was good.

Incredible owner and food! - Edit
The food here was absolutely mind-blowing. Easily the best cauliflower wings I’ve ever had. The food was cooked fast and I love that the restaurant is family owned! The owner chatted with us for a bit. There’s cool artwork on the walls to purchase. I cannot praise this place enough! My non-veg family loved the food here too. The fries portions were huge and delicious!

Great nachos, the falafel sandwich was a bit thick, dry, and underwhelming. I would come again, but not a high priority.

Super tasty! - Edit
I came here hungry after a flight and even though they were out of the jackfruit ribs, Trio did not disappoint. I had a platter of the collards, cornbread, and slaw and all three were the most flavorful versions of each I’ve ever had. Just wow.

So freaking good! - Edit
Sooo good! I miss Homegrown Smoker in Portland so much and this brought me right back. Currently writing this review in the midst of a food coma. The jackfruit ribs were the standout star, excellent chew and flavor. Everything was delicious, price was reasonable, service was good. Plus it's a Black-owned business and I am happy to support them.

Wow!! - Edit
I heard this place was good, but it blew away all expectations! It was so good that we were sad our stomachs were so full. Even our kiddos loved the food! The BBQ jackfruit wrap is super delish, as well as the nachos. Don’t forget to save a little room for desert too. Even with a full restaurant, the food came out quite quickly. Will definitely be back. There is a cheap parking lot just behind the restaurant too.

I had the Buffalo Mac n Cheeze with Buffalo cauliflower. Insanely good. And a piece of cornbread that was killer. Quality food, amazing people. Come on out and support this black-owned business. I could have sat and talked to the owners all day. I promise you’ll feel the love!

Tasty and not what I expected - Edit
This place you can easily miss while driving around uptown. Parking is more so around the building on street parking than a designated parking lot. The food is also "leftover style" the platters aren't plates but they are bowls, so the food is combined together ex. The Sweet Bowl consists of mac and cheese and mashed yams with cornbread crumbles (so not a whole slice) and a dollap of maple butter on top. You can easily add riblets to your bowl but they are placed on top so definitely imagine when you have a huge meal and decide to make a little combo bowl the next day so you put all the food together.
Read moreUnfortunately when we visited they had run out of the patties so we were not able to try the burgers but my party did try the wraps and everyone thought they were delicious. The Cajun fries were bomb and well seasoned.
We also tried the BBQ cauliflower wings as an appetizer and those were delicious. The strawberry lemonade is also amazing. It had chunks of fruit which I normally do not like but this drink held it well and tasted great it was almost as if the flavor is already in the lemonade and the chunks just add to the decor of the drink but are edible, they look great and taste even better!
This is also definitely the kind of place you don't wanna catch near closing because they are so good they will run out and sometimes will have to turn away customers I would say around the 620pm mark definitely check in first but have a backup place in mind. (They close at 7pm)
All in all, definitely worth the hype and definitely delicious to try.
Pros: All vegan options, Great atmosphere (artwork, music, vibe), Fairly priced for quality of food
Cons: No actual menu, QR code at the tables , Short staffed (wait time approx 30+ mins), (Being picky) it's cold inside the dining area
