Fantastic authentic Japanese - Edit
Fantastic Japanese restaurant in the heart of Sydney central CBD. The food is incredibly delicious, authentic Japanese. We had two types of ramen, gyoza, rice and wonderful fresh drinks, matcha with strawberry puree and fresh sparkling yuzu. The staff and manager are extremely friendly and attentive. So wonderful to have a Vegan/plant-based Japanese restaurant in Sydney.

Towzen Sydney – A New Vegan Ramen Favourite - Edit
Towzen has quickly become my top pick for vegan ramen in Sydney since the closure of Lonely Mouth in Newtown. I’m genuinely excited to return and explore more of the menu!
Read moreFor around $80, I enjoyed a delicious spread:
• Truffle Ramen: A luxurious bowl with a truffle-infused walnut mylk broth that’s rich, earthy, and deeply comforting. The umami hit was perfect for a chilly evening—pure soul food.
• Yaki-Gyoza (6 pcs): Crispy, golden dumplings filled with a savory veggie mix. These were so tasty they had me doing a little happy dance between bites.
• Japanese Soymylk Pudding: Silky house-made pudding topped with kuromitsu (Japanese black sugar syrup). Honestly, this outshines both Vietnamese tofu pudding with ginger syrup and Chinese tau fu fa—so smooth and flavorful.
• Premium Kyoto Uji Matcha Strawberry Latte (Iced): A refreshing blend of vibrant Uji matcha and house-made strawberry purée. Easily one of the best strawberry matchas I’ve had—if only the cup were bigger! My straw did break halfway through, but the staff kindly replaced it. I’d definitely grab this as a takeaway if I’m nearby in the CBD.
Pros: Not too far of a walk from Wynyard station, Superb customer service, Delicious Japanese food with great vibes
Cons: May have to wait in queue at night as it gets busy, On the pricey end however worth the splurge

Perfect - Edit
I love how there are like 6 ramen options, and they all seem to be fully original creations from the ground up.
Read moreI got the basic tan tan ramen because I wanted a safe option to compare other ramens I have had to, and it was perfect 10/10.
If I went back I would go for something bolder like the green curry ramen, because I trust it to be good
Pros: Everything was amazing

Fabulous ramen - Edit
I booked a trip to Sydney when I saw this place had opened as we don’t have fully vegan ramen in Melbourne. We arrived early as they don’t take bookings Thurs to Sun. Got a seat easily although it was filling up when we left just before 6. I ordered the Si Chuan Tan Tan Men.
Read moreIt was the perfect sized serving and I enjoyed the sesame, and peanut flavouring in oat milk. The vegetables included were great and the mildly spicy suited me. I also ordered Okra With House-Made Olive Oil Based Yuzu Mayo which was really nice.
My partner ordered the green curry ramen which he enjoyed. I ordered the sparkling strawberry and matcha as a drink. Very refreshing.
Worth the trip to Sydney.
Pros: Fully vegan, The flavours of the ramen

Outstanding vegan ramen 🍜 - Edit
Absolutely delicious vegan Japanese, could not fault anything. When we arrived the line was very long and we ended up having to wait around an hour and a half (arrived at 6:40pm on a Thursday), luckily we weren’t in any rush and it was absolutely worth the wait. In our group of four we had the tantanmen, truffle and mushroom ramen and the karaage lion’s mane set, as well as okra, gyoza, green tea and black sesame lattes. The tantanmen and truffle ramens were standouts but everything was incredible, would love to return.

Very tasty ramen - Edit
Nice ambience. Very tasty food. Recommend the Si Chuan Tan Tan Men. My friend had the Hemp Charcoal Soy Mylk Ramen which was recommended by the waiter. I preferred mine - whereas the Charcoal one was nice, but a bit too rich. Yaki Gyoza were nice too.

Awesome New Option in the CBD - Edit
This restaurant is located in a gorgeous heritage listed building in the CBD. The interior is beautifully decorated and has a lovely, relaxed vibe.
Read moreThey offer a fully vegan menu, which is very difficult to choose from! I ended up trying the hemp charcoal soy milk ramen, which was so rich, and tasted incredible. My partner got the truffle ramen which was honestly out of this world. They also have a range of house-made drinks to try.
I absolutely loved it here, and I'm very excited to return to try some of the other dishes. It's on the pricier side, but the meal was very fulfilling, and you can tell that everything is prepared with love.
We also had a lovely chat with the owner after our meal. I highly recommend it!

Brilliant vegan Ramen in the heart of the CBD - Edit
Attentive and warm service from the staff, beautiful venue and food - every element has definitely had so much time, care and attention to detail put into it. The Lion’s Mane in the Karaage set was divine, Thai Green Curry was so flavourful and the eggplant in that was the softest I’ve had! The sparkling iced Matcha was so refreshing, too. Absolutely reasonably priced for the quality and level of service. Will come back here, for sure!

Nicer option in the city - Edit
3.5* for me. Had a good time with tasty ramen. The ramen broths were deep and layered. Why 3.5 stars? Well, I’m value focused. So while the food was lovely, I personally prefer other places. If you don’t mind paying more for fancier food (and only moderate portions) this is a nice spot. Glad this exists for higher paying folks but I can’t justify making this a common place to visit, personally. Hope they do well!

Transported to Kyoto! - Edit
Having been to Towzen in Kyoto, I was beyond delighted to see a location opening in Sydney! The setting is gorgeous, the service is fantastic, and the food is phenomenal. We got the TanTan ramen and the karaage which were both delicious - warming, filling, and good portions. It's worth stopping by if you're in the city and looking for vegan eats but even more worth the trip in! 🍜

Absolutely loved this place! A fully vegan Japanese restaurant that’s not only delicious but also warm and welcoming. The atmosphere was so relaxing—it felt like the perfect place to unwind over a great meal. I had the green curry ramen and a strawberry matcha, and both were absolutely incredible. Vegan ramen in Sydney CBD - Edit
Amazing to have a 100% vegan ramen place in Sydney CBD that’s already popular in Kyoto. We tried the tan tan men ramen and the truffle ramen. Both were lovely and really fresh but the depth of flavour of the tan tan men tipped it for me.

100% Vegan Ramen store from KYOTO, JAPAN🍜🍥 - Edit
I was excited for TOWZEN to open in Sydney. It was a lovely building with a modern Japanese interior and a very nice atmosphere.
Read moreAll the staff were kind and friendly.
The ramen was very tasty.
The Matsumashroom soy sauce ramen I ordered was topped with large sautéed oyster mushrooms and sliced tomatoes.
The toppings were fragrant and the soup was full of flavor, with a mild taste of kelp and soy sauce.
The TOWZEN Soymylk Ramen my partner ordered looked the same as the Ramen that we had at the Kyoto TOWZEN shop.
It was topped with yuba and Japanese pepper(Zanthoxylum piperitum). It was great to be able to eat authentic ramen made with Japanese ingredients!
We will definitely be back soon.
