Impressive Vegan Allium-Free Ramen - Edit
Fully vegan and allium-free Japanese eatery, originally founded in Kyoto, Japan. Zen decor with some tatami seats too. I’ve seen people raving about this eatery online, and having tried it myself, I can see why! We visited several Japanese vegan eateries in KL but personally found this the best, and made a return visit during our short KL trip. The ramen creations were unbelievably tasty, featuring rich walnut mylk broth that had lots of depth. The zesty yuzu kosho ramen was my favourite, though all were impressive. Btw there was a choice of 50g, 80g, or 120g ramen noodles, so we could choose our portion size accordingly without additional charge~ The deep fried moysters made using battered white button mushrooms served with olive oil tartar sauce were such fun to eat. The ‘unagi’ also surprised me, as it achieved a level of realism (gelatinous bits) I’ve never tasted with other vegan versions. Drinks were a delight as well, especially the sparkling uji matcha lychee. Highly recommend visiting this eatery! Do note that it’s quite popular, e.g., weekday lunch crowd, so there might be a bit of a wait to be seated.

Fully vegan ramen shop! - Edit
It feels great sitting down at a restaurant knowing I can order anything. The downside? It makes choosing what to order more difficult. I decided on the yuzu kosho ramen and the home-brewed kombucha. There were more commonly seen ramen flavor profiles on the menu for sure, but that’s precisely why I decided on this citrusy, peppery one. I was not disappointed. I especially loved scooping up the last bits of the broth with yuzu zest and coarsest ground peppercorns. The ramen was a standout, and the kombucha was a dud.
Read moreThe location isn’t nearby to anything else I’m doing in KL. I don’t regret making the trek to a 100% vegan restaurant so highly rated on Happy Cow, but I probably won’t return on this trip. I went for lunch, and they were doing a very brisk business. I wonder whether the dinner crowd is sparser. For KL, the price point is midrange.

Die Trüffel ramen ist mega lecker! Voll cremig und vollmundig mit einem schönen erdigen Geschmack, köstlich! Die Teigtaschen mit dem essig waren auch sehr lecker!

Delicious - Edit
The ambience is pleasant and the food is delicious. However, the place tends to be quite crowded most of the time. The waitresses are very attentive, frequently recommending their signature dishes and highlighting what makes them unique. Overall, the food is marvellous and full of flavour.

Can’t stop thinking about this place - Edit
This might be one of my favorite vegan restaurant experiences so far. The food is exceptional, I’d recommend trying the truffle
Read moreramen and going for the fancy drinks, they’re worth it! I loved the pickles as a starter but pleeeeease leave some room for the matcha mousse cake, because WOW! The super friendly staff is not allowed to take tips which I think is pretty sad, but it seemed like they enjoyed having a little friendly conversation after the meal.

Amazing experience! - Edit
We enjoyed our experience here so much. The lionmane mushroom Karaage had this wonderfully gingery coating and the texture was amazing! We were also big fans of the very fresh tempeh salad with a citrus dressing and of course, the tan tan men. The only slightly disappointing thing was the gyoza - we weren't huge fans of the filling. Loved the atmosphere, it felt very authentic (I say as someone who has never been to Japan)

Yum Yum Mousse cake! - Edit
Absolutely loved our experience at Towzen! Every single item we ordered was exceptional. We started with the karaage, which was crispy and full of flavour. The matcha drink was perfectly balanced—not too sweet, just the way it should be. The highlight for me was definitely the Tan Tan Ramen; rich, comforting and incredibly delicious. And to finish off, the mousse cake… ah! I genuinely wanted a second slice, but my stomach had already reached full capacity.

Good, but not as good as Japan - Edit
We tried the truffle ramen and spicy mala ramen as suggested by the waitress. They were both nice and flavourful but nothing like the ramens you can get in Japan. A little disappointing for the higher price. The lions mane karage was the star of the show - succulent and meaty with a creamy mayo dip.

Somehow always full? - Edit
We could only have our table for an hour bc it was sooo full for dinner. Ain't no way there are these many vegans in Damansara 😅 I think people enjoy the ramen itself; even for non-vegans this is probs one of the better ramens in KL. I got the Sichuan tantanmen and while I thought it could've been spicier, it still hit the spot.
