Great ‘vegan’ moussaka - Edit
I ordered the vegan moussaka. It was really nice. I am wondering if it really was vegan because my stomach got upset that night.

Mushrooms in a moussaka?
Read moreSuch a pity... the Greek salad should be flavourful just by choosing good oil and good produce. Well, it was almost tasteless. The vegan moussaka should NOT have mushrooms. How about soya mince? It's a total disgrace and it was Noooot tasty. The bechamel lacked seasoning.
Fava beans and fried zuccinies were good. #Veganuary

That stinks. It looks good.

It does!!! There is a place in Athens "Veganaki" that has the most amazing pastitsio and moussaka. I tried a vegan lassagna in Italy, Milan, and their standard on those two dishes were on par with Italian bechamel sooo. 😅

Yummy vegan Moussaka - Edit
I liked the vegan moussaka and the rice noodle dish. Service is very friendly and we got a delicious desert on the house. The location is close to the waterfront.

Vegan moussaka - Edit
I really appreciate that this place has a vegan moussaka, that was overall good, but the eggplants inside were very bitter. I also ordered fava that was amazing and an eggplant salad that was good. Great atmosphere, great service, cute location!

Moussaka amazing, Orzo bad - Edit
Went here yesterday (August 2024) and they had 3 vegan main dishes on the menu. We tried the moussaka, which was soo good and the Orzo, which was totally underwhelming and none of us liked at all. Def go for the moussaka!!

Very nice atmosphere and delicious food - Edit
There were three vegan main courses and many of the appetizers were vegan or could be made vegan. The staff was very knowledgeable, I didn’t need to explain myself or veganism. The orzo with veggies was really tasty, as were the salad and grilled mushrooms I shared with my non-vegan husband. It seems to get crowded at around 9 p.m., so I’d suggest to make a reservation for a later dinner.

THE BEST RESTAURANT - Edit
I cannot get over that moussaka, it was beyond delicious!!
Read moreI also had the baked eggplant (on the menu it goes with feta, I asked it without) and it was also delicious. The restaurant is also super nice and well decorated. It is nice that they have a vegan section in the menu but do not forget to check the rest, there are so many traditional dishes that are vegan or that be easily become it by removing cheese

Good veg moussaka - Edit
I tried the famous veg moussaka and it was good!! Also, I really like the atmosphere, with music and many people around. It’s one of the few traditional Greek restaurants that offers a veg alternative to a main dish!!

Not as good as the reviews - Edit
I was swayed to try the mousaka due to all the reviews and it wasn’t my cup of tea. We had the “different mushroom” starter though which was amazing!

Mousakka - Edit
Just stopped by here to try their Mousakka after reading all the rave about it - i wasn't disappointed!
Read moreNot the most classic/authentic mousakka but delicious none the less. It costs 7, 90€ and is a fairly big portion.
The restaurant is on a quiet little street with loads of seating both indoor and outdoors, although it is surely recommended to reserve a table as it seems like a popular place (we were lucky to get the only non reserved table of that evening). The place has a super cosy atmosphere, especially at dinner time.

Tasty food, would love more options - Edit
Tried the rice stuffed vine leaves ("dolmadakia" or "ntolmadakia") and the mushroom moussaka (the gluten version with the béchamel sauce) and they were delicious!
Read moreHowever keep in mind that the stuffed vine leaves are served with yogurt by default, so you need to notify the staff not to include it. Moreover, one of the other vegan-listed dishes contains parmesan - which also is not vegan as of June 2022 - and should be excluded as well.
After the meal, we were served very, VERY, delicious spooned sweets (carrot and fig) - free of charge - but not sure if it is the norm or just a one time "welcome" thing.
The manager (or owner) herself answered all of our questions regarding the ingredients and she seemed to be aware of what vegans do or don't eat, therefore please do ask if in doubt!
The prices are reasonable, but do expect to pay for the bread (1 small round bread per person) and the bottled water (they just bring the water on the table; kindly ask them for tap water and refuse to accept the bottle if you don't want it). To be fair, the water cost might be written on the menu, but usually Greeks do not notice or not expect it.
Overall, we enjoyed the food and the service and we're definitely going back. Vegan moussaka is rarely found and in my opinion it's worth a try!
Pros: Value for money, Friendly staff, Knowledge of ingredients
