No vegan tax!! - Edit
They were packed on Sunday afternoon + the crowd was giving Subaru Forester (vibes). My partner’s a little neurotic + repeats “vegan” enough to make someone roll their eyes, but they screwed up + gave us Cajun turkey chili instead of the soup of the day. It was a bummer, but they were so nice about refunding it, all is forgiven. The Michael King needed a few shakes of salt, but it was very good. I see a Rajun Cajun in my future.

Great options! - Edit
Glad I finally gave this place a go. Delicious, messy, made to order vegan sandwiches.
Read moreUsually when a non-vegan joint has a vegan sandwich, it lacks any kind of protein, or is made of chickpeas if you’re lucky. But the Other Coast has options - all standout and unique offerings on their own.
I got the Michael King - great flavor! The bread was perfect, and the yam was a unique touch - I am a fan!
The greens were just a touch soggy from the heat, and I wouldn’t have minded more tofu, but I a tofu addict.
I’ll be back for sure!
Pros: Solid vegan options - all with protein!!

Solid vegan sandwich options - Edit
A friend of mine and I stopped in here while visiting the Ballard Farmer's market to pick up something easy to eat. I got the Ragin’ Cajun and he got the Michael King. Both were great! Do note that there can be long wait when busy.

Probably the best sandwiches in Seattle - Edit
The vegan Ragin’ Cajun and Michael King were so freaking good. Bread is fantastic, fresh ingredients, and the proteins are so well done (faux meat, dry rubbed tofu). 10/10 I’ll definitely be back.

Thank you for more vegan options! - Edit
Always loved the vegan heaven sandwich/ salad, and really appreciate that they recently added more options. Also, the salad comes with baby kale not spring mix which is amazing.

Fun spot on Ballard Ave - Edit
Ballard Avenue has it all! Cool resale shops, boutique shops, taverns, bars, tea and coffee shops and then The Other Coast Cafe. Small shop with bar height seating and enclosed seating on the street. We were there at 3p and noticed an influx of business, to learn… the Rajun Cajun is half price from 3-30p(which was our second choice). We had ordered the Michael King and happy with our choice. The bread was perfectly toasted and the sweetness from the yam mash, along with the savory tofu and sauce was a great combination and I would order again.

So happy they started to make the veggin’ heaven vegan. I usually choose the salad version, so good. Excited to try their other vegan options.

The vegan options here are fantastic! - Edit
The sandwiches here are fantastic! Very delicious! They have house vegan options like chickpea salad sandwiches (called the Vegan Veggin Heaven) as well as field roast, vegan cheese, vegan mayo and build your own options. There is usually a long line so get there early or be ready to wait. Keep up the great work!

Good Sandwiches - Edit
Other Coast Cafe is known for their big hearty sandwiches. It’s great they now provide vegan options with field roast. You can customize your sandwich, and what you get is pretty tasty. If you like mustard, go for the deli mustard. It makes the sandwich, in combination with the field roast. Yum.
