Wonderful vegan food! - Edit
Visiting Vancouver and we ate here twice. The food was all delicious and nicely presented. The service was super friendly as well. The only drawback was having to ask for the bill, but it was a minor inconvenience.

We tried the Vegan Crispy Duck with Pancakes for Two. It was beautifully presented, and the taste did not disappoint. Service was friendly. We highly recommend it and will definitely return to this restaurant before our visit to Vancouver ends.

Wonderful food and welcoming staff - Edit
A lovely, welcoming spot with super-friendly staff! We had spicy, crispy cauliflower and deep-fried king oyster mushrooms as appetisers - both with delicious sauces! For mains, we had the Hestia Saffron Curry, Miss Saigon Noodle Bowl, and Hestia Storm Noodle. Each dish was thoroughly enjoyed with lots of vegetables packed in. A special mention for the deep-fried spring roll paired with the Miss Saigon noodle bowl and the house special sauce with the Hestia Storm, as it was full of flavour! Also, we were happily surprised when the Hestia Storm arrived with ‘floating’ noodles and chopsticks! Overall, it was a delicious meal out with lots of flavour.

Celiacs beware - Not Gluten Free - Edit
After our experience with this restaurant and the owners rudeness, I googled other reviews and see this is not a one time occurrence and other's should be aware of the health risk for gluten allergies.
Read moreMy daughter is celiac. She reviewed the menu and made a gluten free selection. When we arrived for take out order, we specifically advised the staff that it was for someone with celiac disease. They confirmed the dish was gluten-free and did not contain wheat at all but as wheat is used in restaurant there is “potential” for cross contamination. We understood and confirmed that as long as no wheat is used in the item and truly gluten free, there are no issues. However, when we got the pho home, we noticed the tofu looked deep-fried—something that had not been identified on the menu description. Concerned, my daughter decided to call to double-check and found out the tofu had been fried in the same oil used for breaded wheat products. She tried to explain this means it isn't gluten free and all chef's should be aware of this distinction. The owner kept saying it was gluten free because no wheat was used. Briefly, this is not a chance of cross contamination, frying foods in same fryer is full on gluten and cannot be called gluten free (for all those reading, gluten is not destroyed by heat and to be called gluten free, it CANNOT be fried in same fryer as wheat).
We didn’t ask for a refund—just tried to educate them on the health risks and the definition of gluten-free should not be used. Unfortunately, we were met with defensiveness and contempt - including unsolicited rude texts, instead of “I’m sorry”.
We spent $20+ on food that couldn’t be eaten, and more importantly, we were deeply disappointed by the lack of care and understanding for people with celiac disease. No apology, no accountability and an outright refusal to stop using term term gluten free when things are fried together.
Pros: generous portion
Cons: not gluten free

Hello
Read moreWe would like to clarify a few details from your review. First, it was your friend - a man who purchased the pho for you, but at no point did he mention that it was specifically for someone with celiac disease only gluten free. If that had been made clear, we would not have sold the dish. At that time, our staff clearly explained that although the pho itself does not contain gluten ingredients, our kitchen is not a certified gluten-free facility and therefore there is always a risk of cross-contamination. Your friend acknowledged this information and still decided to go ahead with the order.
Second, the pho you are referring to was $18.50 plus tax, not $25. It’s important to share accurate information when leaving public reviews.
When you later called us, rather than having a calm discussion, the tone was condescending as though you were calling to “educate” our staff even our staff already apologized for any misunderstanding or frustration caused but you hung up during the call. We already take dietary restrictions seriously, which is why our team is upfront about potential cross-contact. It is not realistic to expect any restaurant without dedicated facilities to guarantee zero cross-contamination, and we were transparent about this from the beginning.
If what you really wanted was a refund, it would have been much easier to simply ask. Instead, the conversation turned into an unnecessary lecture that helped no one.
We take allergies and dietary needs seriously, but honesty is a two-way street. Lying or exaggerating in a review is not good — it unfairly damages the reputation of a business that was upfront from the beginning.

A Standout Vegan Dining Experience - Edit
I had an incredible meal at The Hestia Veggie, a real gem for plant-based food lovers.
The vegetable spring roll was honestly the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly crisp on the outside and packed with a beautifully balanced filling of carrot, taro, mushroom, vermicelli, tofu, and bean. It was bursting with flavour and set the bar high for the rest of the meal.
For my main, I had the Cordyceps “chicken” claypot, I can confirm it was not too spicy! It was hearty, warming, and full of depth, the vegan chicken had a great texture, and the lemongrass and spice came through perfectly without overpowering the dish. The vegetables were fresh and vibrant, and the rice was the perfect pairing.
On top of the amazing food, the service was first class, attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu and reassuring me of spice levels.
Highly recommend. I’ll definitely be back!
Pros: The flavours , The menu , The service

Good but... - Edit
I really enjoyed the food here and I appreciate that it's a completely vegan place. The weird thing was that some of the fried foods tasted fishy even though they weren't supposed to. As though the oil that was used to fry them in was used for fish. I'm going to assume that it isn't actually the case though because the place represents themselves as vegan, but it did give me a little bit of an ick feeling.

Exceptional meal! - Edit
Even though this place bills itself as vegetarian, it's actually vegan! We started with the Crispy Summer Rolls, which were very good, but since there were only two of us, you'd think they'd either cut it in half or quarters. Next was the Wokfried Brussel(s) Sprouts. Again, VERY good, and they were fresh! Our main was the Vegan Crispy Duck w/Pancakes. I don't know what this duck is, but it was absolutely delicious! The pancakes were paper thin, and we could've used a few more, but I would absolutely, without a doubt, order this again and recommend it to whoever decides to try this place out. It's a standout dish. My mouth starts watering just thinking about the flavors and textures.

We’ve been here 2x and the Laksa curry is to DIE for. Our main problem is that we want to repeat order that over trying something we haven’t had before but I’m sure the other dishes are just as good. We’ve also had the saffron curry which is really good. The service staff are very cute and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable.
