I am so glad I found the Herb Garden on Happy Cow! I popped in for a late breakfast and was greeted by Andrew, who is an absolute gem!

Andrew was very accommodating and managed to greet and serve everyone in the cafe on his own.
The food was yummy, the vibe was lovely. I would 100% return if in the area again xx

Lovely veggie bistro - Edit
The food is absolutely delicious. Recently I’ve had the Coronation Tofu Quesadillas, Indian Style Pea & Potato rolls and a delicious marzipan cake. Everything has been so flavoursome and the place just has a lovely feel about it. Service is really friendly and welcoming. If you’re looking for excellent vegan/veggie food in Buxton then this is the place.

Great little spot with tons of vegan options (pretty much all vegan apart from offering dairy milk, cheese and an egg sandwich). I had the goodness bowl which was really good, fresh and nutritious. Ample portion and left a bit of room for cake! Went half and half with my husband on the porters cake and an orange and cranberry cake. Choice of vegan cream or ice-cream available. Both were lovely! Just missed out on the last scone but it looked amazing! Will definitely call again when next in the area. Highly recommended for vegans and veggies😄

Great choices of home cooked, simple but tasty food with plenty of vegan options. We shared a tofu "stew" special and a Buddha bowl style salad. Sensible portion sizes means we had space to share a delicious cake & special of vegan rice pudding.

Autumn has begun and yesterday was a little cold walking around Buxton when I found The Herb Garden.
Read moreThere were several options for food and drinks, with almost all of the options can be made vegan.
I had the soup of the day, which was homemade red pepper and tomato and was asked what spread I would prefer.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful with advising options.
Only downside is the limited seating space but what space there is feels cozy and comforting.
Pros: Great selection of food and drink, Most of the menu can be made vegan, Great price
Cons: Small table and seating area, Can be hard to find without Google maps

Really glad we found this cozy café! It’s got a lovely vibe, friendly staff, and loads of vegan options. I had the tofu Buddha bowl, which was delicious, and the beetroot and raspberry cake for dessert was amazing. They’ve got plant based milk options for hot drinks too. Would definitely recommend. 💚

We sat outside and ordered the spicy bean quesadillas (one vegan, one veggie). They were delicious with a nice side salad. Really good value for money - which is hard to find these days! Lovely staff. Would definitely visit again if I was in the area.

Everything was fresh and delicious. The menu had many options and almost everything could be made vegan. There were so many options that it was had to choose which is so unusual when you are vegan.

We have the Indian chickpea burger which made a nice change from the fakery found elsewhere. Nice flavors without going for spicy heat. Fruit cake for dessert which was excellent. Friendly service.

My wife has a number of significant - medically relevant - allergies. Our hosts made sure that none of the allergens would be in her food choices. They presented us with a range of vegan food options. Far more choices perhaps than those selling vegan food-only. The food was fresh, delicious and served in a timely manner. Thanks again to the Herb Garden!

Absolutely delicious food. Been twice now. They also do a takeaway menu where you can take fresh or frozen food home. We brought home two mushroom pies to have at a later date. My husband was raving about them. Run by a lovely couple. This will become a firm favourite when visiting Buxton. If you have a larger appetite, you may want a starter, main and pudding. A main and pudding to share with hubby was more than enough for us though.

Cosy, welcoming restaurant with great service and an excellent choice of vegan dishes as well as vegetarian options. We had the vegan breakfast with coconut bacon, which we’d never tried but really enjoyed. Great coffee too! Would definitely return.

We stumbled across this place via the A-boards and it was just perfect. Our favourite type of eatery- real people cooking real food. I had a toaster, my husband had the raspberry and white choc cake. I had white choc hot choc and we took some frozen meals away too. We arrived close to closing time but they were so gracious and hospitable.

Had the vegan yog(without the hurt) with granola and freshly cut apples. Came back later for a big chunk of heavenly carrot cake. Ah, and they serve a great espresso. Very friendly
