OMG the best vegan Rueben!

This was an epic sandwich place tucked inside the market - a few seats and a great vibe. Really enjoyed the sandwich - big, messy and delicious!

an incredible ‘wich

LOVED the Reuben - so delicious! I had half warm there, then took the other half away (they wrapped it up for me) and it was just as tasty cold the next day! Highly recommend - made a trip to Walthamstow especially for this place after reading all the great reviews and it definitely did not disappoint!!

The Coven of Wiches 💚

Absolutely delicious American style deli sandwiches, which is a rare find in the UK. I’m an American living in the UK, and I 666% approve of their take on American sandwiches! The Reuben (made with seitan) was very good. Delicious food and lovely staff, what else could I have asked for? 💚

Best Sandwiches ever!?

Probably the best vegan sandwiches ever. It can be a little out of the way if you aren't local but definitely worth it. A nice rotation every month or so of fillings to keep coming back!

Ordered the Agatha and Sundae - both were amazing! The flavours of the sandwich really complimented eachother. I particularly enjoyed the Middle Eastern bread and the aubergine schnitzel 🤤

£7-10 for sandwiches which is the average cost of a meal.

Venue is cosy, few seats available inside and “bar” seats available outside. The owner is really lovely ☺️

Pros: Cosy, Flavoursome, Unique

Cons: Seating arrangement , Space to keep belongings

The coven of taste

We had the Ruben and Agatha and both were lovely so can only imagine that everything else is just as good, but messy so make sure you have plenty of napkins. Great portion sizes

Best sandwiches in town

One thing I have consistently craved since moving to the UK more than 20 years ago are good deli sandwiches and Coven of Wiches is THE solution. I love them so much and my only criticism is I don't get to eat one every day.

Pros: everything

Sandwich witchcraft

Love the selection of sandwiches and the quirky branding. The sandwiches are massive so you definitely get your money's worth!

They're quite hard/messy to eat though so maybe don't wear a white t-shirt like I did lol

Pros: Good value for money, Nice atmosphere

Cons: Not very spacious

Amazing

Had the ‘Seven’ and bf had ‘The Chop’ - very very generous portions - tastes were outstanding. Had to wait a little while for the order but it was just 1 person running the whole show - impressive and worth the wait

Pros: Taste fusions, Stock regular coke and Diet Coke

Quirky deli

This quirky deli and pickle bar is in Wood Street Indoor Market, a perfect place to find this gem. Serving delicious sandwiches, all vegan, with the best Pickles! The owner chef Annabelle runs the shop herself and updates the menu regularly. A great find and a must visit if you're in the area!

Pros: Great options on menu, Big portion sizes, Friendly vibe

Cons: None

Not just any old sandwich shop!

I'd been wanting to come to this place for a year and my goodness the food did not disappoint..! I had 'the Reuben' in a GF bagel (to avoid gluten overload 😅) with a Root 666 float and the owner kindly gave me a potato salad too. All the flavours were UNREAL..! These sandwiches are on another level. Quick and friendly service (but also worth the wait if it's busy!) Good value for money considering the portion size. This is a must- visit for all! Put it on your list and get there pronto 🌟🌱

I'm still thinking about those amazing sandwiches...

It's true: these are some of the best sandwiches you'll get in London, and maybe ever. 5 stars on HC and Google don't lie. They're quite substantial (the chikin parma especially), the vegan meats are super good, and every component is a flavor bomb. Also loved the Reuben. Very much worth the journey from central London!

Hidden Gem

Saw this spot being shouted out on Time Out's TikTok page and it's so cute! American Style Deli Sandwiches made fresh every day. They use their own Meat replacements and have a licensed bar with some amazing beers and ciders.

Pros: The Banh Mi, The Philly French Dip

The Philly is amazing

Went last year and had the Philly which is huge, my wife had the coronation chicken. Both really tasty and filling, can’t wait to go back this year, such a great little local place.

Pros: Portion size, Choice

Did my heart love till now? …for I ne'er saw true beauty till this… sandwich.

Tucked away in the cute “Georgian village” market in Walthamstow (Wood St), the Coven of Wiches has a fab location, worth popping by in person for a really neat experience (though, be warned, there’s lots of great stores in the market so it’s hard to walk away without doing a shop!💚💸). Today, I opted for a takeaway, and boy did it deliver ;). If you’re getting takeaway, do mind the fact that these bad boys are saucy! It can get a bit soft, but it won’t jeopardise how unbelievably good it is. You probably won’t have room for a side (these are massive sandwiches) but if you do, the potato salad is great—who am I kidding, of course there’s that little bit of extra space for a side! 🤤
Definitely eat here. It will be the best sandwich you have ever eaten!

Ps—that’s only half the sandwich pictured. (Couldn’t resist having a bite—or several—before taking the photos!)

Vegan delight

Being parents of one of the owners might be an excuse to be biased with the praise but there is no need as this is a really great place!
Cheerful choices, perky prices, amiable ambiance, super-sized servings and willing waiters all make for a very enjoyable eatery.
The sheer hard work and enthusiasm creating these delights really shines through.
May your vegan treats multiply and prosper - your dream is now a reality.
Well done to you both!

Finally great sandwiches in London

We went on opening day and had the Corrie, Reuben and Vish sandwiches as well am I E cream sandwich shaped like a cat. We loved everything. The fillings and sauces were fresh, homemade and on point. Prices fair. And the preparation time was pretty speedy considering each sandwich was prepared as ordered. The menu will be changing regularly. Definitely recommend.
