A Collective Sigh of Relief - Edit
Even in the midst of an escalating regional tension, my hunger cares not: conflict be damned, this boy needs food! Of course, I jest; this excursion was taken with all government safety protocols firmly in mind.
Read moreWithout realising, I happened to choose a near-perfect spot to provide some much sought after breathing space. A picture of peace and tranquillity, nestled beside a mini-faux forest – complete with water features aplenty – this restaurant provided a much-needed dose of escapism while also providing ample culinary delights as well.
Not that I was expecting to be dazzled by the food, however. For some reason, despite the entirely unexpected charm of its setting, I still harboured doubts about the merit of what the kitchen could produce. It didn’t take long for me to discover that not only were these fears unfounded but also quite ridiculous.
From the salads to the pizza, and from the lentil soup to the vegetable dumplings, all was of an exceedingly high calibre and an absolute pleasure to feast on. The most notable source of brilliance was the Indian section. Humble dishes executed skilfully; time and time again I found myself gravitating back for more without even making the conscious decision to do so.
My only minor cavil came with the service. Some of the staff were beyond reproach: fast, efficient, and amiable. Others, however, were the antithesis of all these things, which led to me having to make a concerted effort to cherry-pick who I relied on for my needs. Not nearly enough of an issue to have a significantly detrimental impact on the meal, this was a mere inconvenience rather than a full-blown annoyance.
Unquestionably, this outing was a huge success. With exceptional consistency across all dishes in terms of both taste and quality, this is a place that I will definitely return to in the future.
