Excellent food! - Edit
We didn't know what to expect from the place before we went. Reviews appeared mixed... our experience was similar. The restaurant is very small, and the seats are in poor condition. The bathroom was a disaster, most likely because of the previous group of patrons, but still - it smelled horrible and was dirty. The decorative plants were dying or dead and the decor is more "middle school bedroom" than "eclectic vegan eatery."
Read moreMy omni in-laws struggled with ordering, and the young man taking our order got flustered when he brought the wrong dish to our table.
All of these negative things disappeared when the food arrived. Generous portions, reasonably priced and EXCELLENT FOOD!!! I got the burger with cheese and bacon. and the bacon was frighteningly good. My wife and mother in law got avocado salads, which were delicious. My father in law (finally) got his chicken dish (second time around - first order was burned beyond recognition) and he was blown away by the flavor and texture.
I recommend this restaurant with the caveat that you have to know it's a small place with limited seats, so-so decorations and food that is well-worth navigating the above challenges.
Pros: The food. , Did I mention the food?, Friendly patrons at a communal table
Cons: Cleanliness could use an upgrade, Decor could be improved, Clean the bathroom once an hour!

Bons plats - Edit

A chill place to have good food! - Edit
I had the bacon sandwich and the apple pie, which were both really nice though a bit pricy. The atmosphere of the place was really nice, though I've understood that the quite loud reggae music divides opinions :D

Food was great and they had many options! I loved the vegan sushi and the Jamaican plate. I also tried the chocolate cake (though they didn't have my first option which was cheese cake).

Food is OK - Edit
The people working there were nice, the food was OK (kind of chicken burger), but it was a little chaotic. You could tell they like reggae, but they also adopted the relaxed Jamaican attitude (isn't negative, but not everyone likes it). The place didn't look very clean and my clothes smelled when I left the place (not really an open kitchen, but bad ventilation I guess).

We went here for a lunch and were a bit dissapointed. This place definately has a good vibe to it, BUT... Menu is written on a chalkboard (not very nicely) and lacks conception in my opinion. It was hard to actually pick something. We had stir-fried rice and some salad. Food was ok, but nothing special. I would expect lower prices for a place like this.

Be sure to check what time they open as I made the mistake at going at 12pm and they were closed. I didn’t give up and came back the next day and boy am I happy I did! The Crispy Roti Wrap is delicious and beautifully presented. The price is a wee bit expensive and that means something since I’m from New York which is expensive in itself.

Is this a Joke? - Edit
Me and my gf went to this Restaurant, that was the most popular and pretty decent (4 Star) according HappyCow.
Read moreAt first I had some basic expectations about described "Caribbean and Japanese tastes and ingredients" and ordered Vegan Plate and Jamaican Plate à 16 Euro (the priciest, best, and filling I thought) ... Buuut, to the actual points and no-gos,
1. No menus for a place for max. 20 People, you must read the menu on a desk in the far corner of the room, with no details - you have to ask about anything. So a decent menu with some details to each of the dishes would be great.
2. I asked waiter for a WiFi - he told me, that he will ask his chief.... He forgot. So to offer a free WiFi if you have one in form of info on the wall/tables would be great
3. We ordered 2 Plates for 16 Euro and thought it would be enough for a dinner....no. There was actually less than in a ready to lunch box from a typical grocery store. Literally it was a tiny bit of rice, I mean rice! You get more for less at Vapiano for sure.
4. I had "Jamaican" plate. It was - Rice, Broccoli, Zucchini, Red Cabbage and Soy Things. All tastes very nice. But I strongly suggest to look at Wikipedia Page for Caribbean/Jamaican dishes. Spoiler: there is no Broccoli, Zucchini, Red Cabbage etc.!!!!!! This is the same as if I ordered a bottle of Cola for 3 Euro and got a 10 Euro shot Birch-Limonade - really?
5. For that what you get the prices are enormous! Ok, if it was all organic.. But it was not or nowhere to find a sign, non of the drinks was organic.
So if you read through my not so good english so far, I come to a conclusion:
1 Star for the taste - It was very tasteful. and 1 Star is granted by HappyCow

Pros: Taste
Cons: Price, Jamaican food/ingridients? - not here, Small portions, maybe ok for kids

nice vegan pure food - Edit
Food is mostly nice (depends who is making the food), the staff can be very rude and unprofessional, but one person is mostly very nice and he is also a very good cook. Quite bad hygiëne in the seated area, I don't know about the kitchen. The serve very nice tasting pure vegan food (no refined sugar, lots of healthy options). The food is quite expensive but isn't that surprising since they make everything themselves with bio and fresh ingredients. Very long waiting time, but it isn't that surprising since they serve pure, slow food, that they will make fresh after you ordered.
Read morePros: good tasting pure vegan food, in Amsterdam city centre, savory food and sweet food unrefined sugar

interesting vegan place! - Edit
This is quite a handy place for vegans travelling in amsterdam. It has a varied menu with enough to choose from. I ordered the veg spring rolls which came out different to what I expected, deep fried in breadcrumbs but still tasty. Then I had the chickn and chips, and I must say the chickn is the most realistic fake meat I've ever tasted! For dessert I had the warm Apple pie which was quite nice. The place does smell a bit of fried food, I could still smell it on me after I left, so if you're looking to treat yourself and you're not health conscious then this is a good place to eat.

Had a lovely time at Terrazen this afternoon, they were very welcoming and didn't mind me being a corporate nutter and having to work a couple of hours at the table (with ample tea and coffee!). Confusing, Bizarre, but Amazing! - Edit
Have an open mind...
Read moreIf you’re wanting a highly organised, formal, efficient and professional environment for your meal, don’t come here.
If you’re open to a quirky, funny, friendly, tasty, bizarre, surreal experience, then definitely come here.
The owner/waiter/chef is lovely and provides a dining ‘experience’ as well as 100% vegan menu. Some items may be sold out, just choose something else. Your food may come out at different times, just share as it comes. You may not not cutlery with your meal, just go and get it yourself or use your fingers. Help yourself to drinks from the fridge, pay at the end. (cash only)
This restaurant is a confusing and bizarre experience, but i can’t recommend it enough. Amazing restaurant, food & chef.
Culinary experience we won’t soon forgot.
