Superb tasting menu

Veg focussed and delicious menu, changes frequently. The tasting menu contained lots of delicious courses highlighting the best seasonal vegetables had to offer. The sticky toffee pudding dessert was a highlight!

Wow! An expensive delicious treat.

We saw this online and booked in advance. The friendly and informative staff explained the tasting menu and what was to be served. Everything was phenomenal (especially the toffee dessert!!)

Well worth it!

Best food experience in my life

Honestly the title says it all. We’ve been to Tendril to celebrate job promotions and it was impossible for both of us to imagine what we were going to eat. Every dish was special, I can’t even pick a favourite. And the waitress was just the cherry on the top!
Not too expensive either. Great job guys!

Creative and delicious tasting menu

I like to visit Tendril every time they bring out a new tasting menu. I am always amazed by their creativity and the flavours they manage to bring to each dish. The wine list is also really well thought out.

Pros: Delicious tasting menu, Friendly staff

Cons: Not vegan😒

Creative options

Fantastic range of options, I went with a group of colleagues and we tried one of everything. The menu changes regularly, so sometimes more vegan options are available and sometimes fewer. Non vegan is clearly labelled on the menu.

Treat yourself!

Tendril is pricey, but worth it for a nice dinner out. I love a set menu, and it did not disappoint. The food just kept coming, and even though each course was small, we were stuffed by the end. Highly recommend!

Set taster menu takes the hassle out of choosing

The set menu is a little pricey but features plenty of dishes, all beautiful and great for sharing. Most of the dishes are vegan, there’s one vegetarian main dish choice. I liked that vegetables and beans are the star of the show. Beautiful cooked and presented, no highly processed meat alternatives in sight. Beautiful. Service was attentive, the drinks menu is extensive and the decor modern & natural making this a slightly upscale eating out affair.

Fine vegan dinning at a great price

Everything I tasted was fantastic.
Loved the Jerusalem artichokes, wakame and cucumber, such a fine and complementary taste and texture. Dived into the White bean spread, chilli, garlic with the hot accompanying pittas and ate it all. Delicious. And as a main course I had the Chipotle mushroom, potato crisps and grilled leek which was very very good.

Ended with their famous tiramisu and I can see why! Mouthwatering. Definitely leave some space to have one!

Also, loved the place. The lighting is low, good for a romantic date (ask for a sitting at the back room), but there’s also a bar and high tables for a more fun experience.

Very friendly staff who explained everything about the food and wine.

You can choose between a tasting menu or a La carte (check for days and times it’s available).

Pros: Excellent value for money

Excellent evening meal

My non-vegan friend and I had an amazing sharing plates meal at Tendril. The restaurant was full but still had a nicely relaxed atmosphere and the food was excellent.

Flavour-sensation tasting menu

Tendril is an up market restaurant, perfect for celebrating special occasions. We opted for the tasting menu, and we're treated to a fabulously flavoursome feast. The smoky babaganush dip was a show-stopper, and I never knew swede could be transformed into such succulent skewers. The only downside was we felt rushed - there was barely enough time to digest between each course. The food is worth it though!

Pros: Creative, plant-based food, Favour sensations, Bonus truffles and chef's welcome courses!

Cons: Rushed through our meal

Ten out of tendril

A good-quality mid-price option for a smart meal for vegans in London!
Mushrooms and tiramisu and squash dishes were excellent. Leek fritters were not as good.
Interior ambience could have been a smidge nicer given the prices - felt a bit cramped.

Elegant & Elevated Vegan Dining Experience

The title sums up our evening at Tendril. Each course in the preset menu had incredible depth of flavor and texture. It was surprisingly nice to not have to think about what to order.

The courses were very nicely paced and we never felt rushed. The service was impeccable and the staff was very friendly.

In addition to the menu items, we were also served an amuse-bouche to start our evening and a small chocolate truffle when the bill arrived. I was so full by then but couldn’t resist, and the truffle did not disappoint!

Our favorite dishes were the grilled celeriac skewers and for the main dish, the grilled mushroom and smoked potato pie. Not only was the presentation of the pie something to see, but the dish was amazing! We also enjoyed the cheesecake for dessert. #Veganuary

Pros: Amazing food, Great service, Nice atmosphere

Cons: None!!

Fantastic menu and great service

We went for dinner at Tendril and had the festive set menu for two.

There is not a lot of signage so the premises are easy to miss when first walking past. Inside the atmosphere is very calm and cosy and you’d never think you were just a few steps away from the chaos of Regents Street. All the staff we encountered during our time there were lovely, knowledgeable and very helpful.

The food itself was great. To start with we had an artichoke and cucumber amuse bouche, followed by three sharing dishes (aubergine, Kalamata olives and tahini; lentil parfait and pickled cauliflower stalk with aioli), served with sourdough bread. The portions were a great size to get a substantial taste without filling you up too much. For the next course I had roasted squash with a potato crumb, my husband had the non-vegan sesame feta with chilli honey, both of which were delicious. Next we had celeriac and harissa skewers which tasted really festive and fit the Christmas menu perfectly. Our final savoury course was a mushroom and smoked potato pie, served with a butterbean purée and chive emulsion, which was also very tasty.

For dessert, we had sticky toffee pudding which was light and very flavourful. And because we were celebrating a special occasion, they brought us a portion of vegan tiramisu with a candle in which was a lovely touch.

Overall a lovely menu with a great variety of vegan foods and flavours, wonderfully presented. The standout for me was the pickled cauliflower with aioli, it was a very clever and balanced dish which I could’ve eaten a lot more of because of the delicious combination of flavours.

Personally I really don’t like the “A (mostly) vegan kitchen & bar” tagline that appears alongside the name everywhere - it cheapens the place a bit and feels like a statement of non-commitment to vegan cuisine. I also feel the place is undersold by calling it a ‘Kitchen & Bar’ rather than just being known as a restaurant. It feels far more classy than that label. I certainly wasn’t expecting the quality we ended up getting, based on that alone. ‘Tendril’ on its own would feel much more elegant in my opinion. #Veganuary

Pros: Great food, Lovely atmosphere, Brilliant service

Cons: Cheesy “mostly vegan” tagline everywhere

Very good but could do better

I went for lunch with two friends before the theatre. We chose a few dishes and the food was good. I had the leek fritters with curry leaf aioli and they were extremely good, although from the description I was expecting potato salad of which there was only one tablespoon.
For main I had marinaded oyster mushroom skewers, really nice but the flavours could be stronger. I also tasted the bean dip which came with excellent fresh pitta bread.
The dessert was banoffie pie, which had a chocolate biscuit for base, it was really good but on the heavy side.
The dessert would have gone down better with a cup of tea but to our surprise this restaurant doesn't do coffee or tea, which I think it's a let down.
The service was rather hit and miss (they asked if we wanted to keep our forks, they didn't know the apple crumble was finished). The portions are on the small side and the prices are high (but probably normal for a very central location).

Pros: Good atmosphere , Good food

Cons: Small portions, No hot drinks

Perfect birthday dinner

Fully vegan menu with a couple of vegetarian options, all the food was beautifully prepared and presented. The staff were lovely and also helpful when choosing options. I recommend booking as we were there on a Tuesday night and they were turning people away.

Excellent fine vegan dining

We had the festive set lunch menu. My friend who was not vegan found the food to be very tasty and enjoyable. It was very attractively presented. Service was quick, efficient and friendly. Decor was tasteful and atmosphere was quiet. Overall it was reasonably priced. Although portions weren't enormous, they were more than enough to leave us feeling full. Will return.

Pros: Delicious food , Great atmosphere , Excellent service
