Finally! - Edit
I've been meaning to eat here for ages and finally made it. The milkshake was perfect, the wrap didn't turn out to be what I expected. The döner "meat" was not at all like döner, I expect it to be shaved seitan rather than little cubes so I was a little disappointed. I was told the burgers are amazing so I will try one of those next.

All vegan chick'n joint - Edit
Great variety of choice - lots of options. The seitan itself is tasty, and the fries have got that Burger King taste which I love. Yeah good food, worth going to

Really good! - Edit
Extensive menu and good deals. Would have liked some more sauce on the temple burger as it was a bit dry. Mac & cheese was great.

Still Coming Back - Edit
My second time at this location. Trust me it would be more if I didn’t live in Seattle. Otherwise it would be my 4,787th time.
Read moreIt is fantastic in every way. Yes, no, yes maybe I’ll steal some onto the plane and take some back to Seattle. So what?

Bland and greasy - Edit
Admittedly, it's been a few years since I've been to the Temple (and only to the Camden location), but I remember it being great! Unfortunately, it seems to have gone downhill, as the food was bland and greasy. The calories were definitely not worth it. Taking into account the competition, both from other restaurants and home, it's unlikely I'll step in one again.

Wow - Edit
After hearing about this place for years I finally got to try what's known as the best vegan chicken.
Read moreI got the BBQ chicken burger (exclusive to this branch) a portion of lemon pepper chicken wings and a doner snack pack. I had eaten far too little all day but travelling is a pain like that.
The BBQ burger was amazing (but a bit saltier than I expected), It made the trip worth it for this alone. Hands down the best vegan chicken I've ever had from a takeaway. The lemon pepper wings were a very close second, and the dip worked really well with it.
The doner snack pack was tasty and very full, unfortunately at this point I was fairly full so I only ate half but i enjoyed it.
I also tried some of gnome child's food. (We generally swap some of everything).
Gnome child got a temple burger with added coleslaw, garlic Parm wings and an animal snack pack. They really enjoyed the burger but found the wings to be too greasy and preferred the lemon wings. I thought the same. I tried the animal pack but wasn't into it at all, gnome child seemed to prefer it though.
Overall it was a really good meal and considering it was an delivery I was surprised that most of it was still fairly warm.(The chips weren't very warm). But I would definitely eat here again.

Delicious burgers, but very salty - Edit
I ordered the Temple Burger with coleslaw, garlic parm wings and the Animal Snack Pack. I also tried some of Purp's BBQ Chick'n burger, lemon pepper wings and Doner Snack Pack.
Read moreThe Temple Burger was delicious, it was one of the nicest burgers I have ever had! The coleslaw was definitely a good choice as I felt that it could have been a bit boring without it.
The BBQ Chick'n Burger was also nice. It's new to the menu, and an exclusive at the Hackney location. The BBQ sauce was very tangy, which I wasn't a huge fan of but I generally am not into BBQ sauce anyway. I think it would be delicious if you were a fan of BBQ sauce.
The garlic parm wings were the biggest disappointment for me. They were very oily, far more than I expected. Also, I felt that the flavours didn't really go well together. The garlic mayo was quite nice. I would not get these wings again.
The lemon pepper wings were delicious though, so they made up for it. The lemon pepper taste was subtle, but noticeable, and it went really well with the taste of the chicken and the coating.
The Animal Snack Pack was tasty, but completely different to what is advertised on their website. According to the website it is chips topped with cheese, onions, pickles, bacon and burger sauce. It's actually chips topped with a sweet, tangy, BBQ-ish Bolognese, burger sauce and pickles. No cheese sauce, onions or bacon that I could see. It's kind of like taco fries, somewhat. It's nice, but not what it's advertised and I'm not sure if I would have ordered it if it was accurately described.
The Doner Snack Pack was nice, but I found the BBQ sauce to be very overpowering.
There was one complaint that I had with everything though, it was incredibly salty. When ordering the chips you do get the option for no salt, which I did not choose so fair enough (although I expected the chips to only be lightly salted), but you can't do that for the chicken and even in the burgers it's still very, very salty.
I would love to get another burger from here before we leave London, but I don't think I would get anything else again.
Pros: Delicious burgers, Huge portions, Fully vegan
Cons: Very salty, Animal Snack Pack completely different to website

Really good quick food - Edit
After a long journey down to Hackney we needed something quick and filling. This place ticked all criteria. We had the Nashville and the Buffalo burgers, One with fries, one with tater tots.
Read moreAll tasted great and were freshly made I’d say the buffalo burger was slightly better (but messier)
I wouldn’t bother with the cheese topping for the tots. It came in a separate bowl and was very runny and didn’t actually add anything. I’d personally ask for a dipping sauce instead.
Pros: Fully vegan , Made fresh, Great flavour

Looks like the baps/buns have changed! I remember them being different several years ago! Are the burgers still delicious?

Hellz Angle's - Edit
A chicken shop that does fake meat in the style of chicken, is your main selling point here. Which is a lovely idea and the food is not bad, but for me what holds it back is the usual criticism I have of fake meat: texture isn't firm enough and can be rubbery.
Read moreThe very enthusiastic staff were all very nice and helpful, and quick to boot.
Ordered the wings with buffalo sauce, wings soaked in sauce with fries on side, then the two piece which is like 2 flatbreads made out of rubbery fake meat. The wings were more palatable, but not the best I have had.
Milkshake was stellar have to say, got a small biscoff one and it was thicker than Liz Truss's PR firm.
Art interesting, shop itself very small and offers take out. Have to say the roof is noticeably very dusty for some reason and looks like it hasn't been cleaned in ages, zoom in on roof photo for confirmation.
In summary if you want acceptable and guaranteed vegan junk food quickly, and like imitation meat, you should enjoy it.
Pros: Quick service , great packaging , Friendly and helpful staff , Cheap esp for London
Cons: Rubbery 🍖, Not much if any sit in space

Changed recipe isn’t good - Edit
I used to love coming to the place but they changed their vegan chicken recipe and it’s not improved anything to me,it’s worse! They said they wanted it to look more textured but doing that when you eat it now, it’s a lot softer bite and no texture, just like rubbery tofu! Also the Chicken is now made into flatter shape and they’ve reduced the portion size which is a shame.
Read moreSo disappointing as this was my regular go to place, but I know other people like this new recipe so I guess they’ll keep it. I won’t ever go back though!
Cons: Texture of chicken wrong, Gone backwards with changing recipe, it’s worse! , Portion size reduced

Great vegan junk food! - Edit
We ordered the double burger sharing menu with two burger, two sides and wings (so much food!), and it was all amazing! The sharing menu is a lot of food, for a nice price! The total was around £29-30 including two drinks. Note that the place is very small (2 tables), so it seems like this location is mostly for takeaway.

Tasty chicken - Edit
Had the Nashville Hot burger with fries and garlic mayo. The chicken was delicious- nice and juicy and the texture was great. I was expecting a hot sauce situation but instead the chicken is rolled in a spice mix. I wasn’t sure about this at first but actually it was tasty. I would probably try a different chicken burger next time though. Garlic mayo and chips were lovely.
Read moreCustomer service was ok- the staff don’t really interact with you. The restaurant itself is tiny and not very appealing- harsh lights with no ambiance/good decor. I saw a good few ants on the table and floor where I was eating.
Overall would definitely go again, food was tasty and it was good value😄
Pros: Delicious chicken, Good value, Good options available
Cons: Restaurant is tiny, Ants, Customer service not great

Changing the game with the vegan chicken, it’s incredible. They used to do loaded fries with a different topping to the one they currently do, so a bit of a letdown, but the food is still incredible.

Cheap, tasty vegan junk food! - Edit
I love a Temple of Seitan – the food is really good value, the portions are big and I always come away feeling really satisfied and full. This branch is much smaller than the Camden one and can only seat around 4 people so it's more of a takeaway place but we still managed to get a table when we went. We got a Temple Burger, Classic Wings, Animal Snack Pack and a pot of gravy – all of which came to just over £20! The Temple Burger was really good with a massive “chicken” fillet. The classic wings were excellent as always and went really well with the pot of gravy which was very big and just delicious! If you haven’t been to Temple of Seitan before I’d recommend trying the classic wings as they are what Temple of Seitan is all about! The Animal Snack Pack was also delicious and a really big portion – it’s basically a meal on its own!
