Feel Good Cause and Cusine

Tayybeh is a heartwarming spot that supports Syrian and Middle Eastern newcomer women chefs as they establish themselves in Canada. The restaurant offers a welcoming atmosphere, and the staff are incredibly friendly, making you feel right at home.

Their menu has a strong focus on vegan and vegetarian options, like falafel, stuffed grape leaves, and the vibrant mujadara (lentils with rice). The food is delicious, but what stands out most is the sense of community and cultural exchange. Nourish Roots is a place where great food meets a meaningful mission.

Pros: Fair prices , Nice Staff, Gluten free wraps

Deserves a 5 star rating!

Wow; blown away by the delicious Syrian food at Tayybeh. Multiple vegan or vegetarian options in every section of the menu and incredibly delicious. The tabbouleh was so moreish!….could never imagine so much flavour could come out of an 80% parsley-based dish! The smoked eggplant dip was outstanding as were the pies. Topped off with proper Arabic coffee and baklava.

Pros: Variety , Every item was delish, Excellent staff and service

Cons: Literally zero

Spectacular for vegans!

I can’t believe Tayybeh hasn’t been listed earlier. This is a social enterprise restaurant and catering company since 2016. Employs women chefs who are immigrants or refugees from Syria and the Middle East. The dining room is bright and pink (women-led!) and clean and happy. The employees are smiling and generous. There are endless options for vegans and the menu is labeled well. There are gluten-free options labeled well and the dessert case is heavenly. Get the tea! I found prices to be affordable here and the servings are large. The flavors are authentic and complex even with the quickness they are brought out with. My favorite is absolutely the yalanji (dolmas), beet salad and lady bracelets dessert.
