Epic menu

Always a joy to eat here. Loads of variety and a little break from the vegan junk food scene in Glasgow

fantastic lunch

Ahhhh I nearly cried when I saw pizzas on the menu. I had the roasted veg pizza and my lunch date had soup and quinoa salad. All was amazing. Lovely place, lovely staff and delicious varied menu. Will be back very soon!

Hands down our favorite place

This was our favorite vegan restaurant by far in Scotland. The service is amazing and the atmosphere is casual. They offer a daily vegan soup and entree. The entire menu is vegan which we loved. We ordered the jackfruit cakes to start. It was like we ordered fish and chips but on a healthier side. I have to say if you eat here...this is a MUST order. We also had the soup of the day which was also amazing and the bread that came with it was so fresh. For our entree we shared the beetroot gnocchi - wow. I dont know that you could go wrong at this place. If we come back to Glasgow, this will probably be the only place we eat at. AMAZING!

tasty food

The menu is interesting and wide ranging, with tasty dishes. The macaroni cheese and soup were probably the best out of the main dishes we had. There was a special of strawberry and basil cheesecake which was fabulous. Service is friendly and helpful, in a basic cafe bar setting.
Being so central is a real bonus, just down a cobbled alley off a main street.

Pros: interesting range, central location , nice staff

love this place

It's tucked away down a dark alley and the place isn't anything fancy at all but the food is incredible!

Very casual place, great vegan options, been here 3-4 times and it's always busy.

awesome

Boyfriend and I are here during our trip to Glasgow. It took us ages to find the place as it's down a lane and we had no internet to get the app up and look! The vibe here is chilled out, the decor is industrial. I ordered a dark and stormy cocktail which was lovely, there are a lot of drinks on offer which is always good. Plenty of choice! They didn't have pizzas or flatbreads so we had to order our second choices but when the food came both dishes were gorgeous so I'm not too bothered that they weren't flatbreads. I had the jackfruit cake sandwich and it was very fish like, loved it! I've never had anything that taste or texture since being vegan so it was lovely. My boyfriend had the macaroni cheese which again was lovely. We were both far too full for desserts!

A taste of Glasgow

A bar with a friendly staff and a noisy vibe. Great choice of drinks, and great choice of food - but beware the ability of the Glasgow taste for fried food. Healthy vegetables and pickles battered and deep fried took these two out-of-towners by surprise!
And I know the location is in an alley, but the broken cobbles are treacherous (especially in the rain) and the overflowing bins along the way are unbelievable.

Pros: Friendly staff, Choice, Live music - and benefit gigs

Cons: Too much too fried!, Location in filthy alley , Not cheap

A little tough to find but worth the effort!

On a cold, rainy day touring Glasgow, we searched Happy Cow and decided on Stereo. We're very happy that we did. They have a large, extensive, all vegan menu, a great craft beer list and warm, welcoming service. We ordered the vegan haggis starter, my son ordered the mac n cheese, I order the Sharmuchan sandwich and my husband ordered the Rueben. The portions are large and none of us finished. The food was very flavorful, freshly prepared and promptly delivered.

Pros: Delicious, Huge portions

Cons: tough to find

Great spot !

Had the vegan haggis and potato pakora and the balsamic onion and spinach pizza .. it had been a while since I had a pizza .. the cashew cheese sauce was great as was the tomato sauce , onions and spinach on the thin crust pizza .. did not disappoint . Add to that an NA Heineken and it was a perfect lunch . Cool space and the staff was friendly .. another great find thanks to my Happy Cow app !!!

good food and atmosphere

Hidden away but easy to find with happy cow app. Great atmosphere and the staff were so kind. Started with humus which was good. Had a good Spanish wine. Had the special of the day Korean hot pot which was lovely and spicy. Must keep the Koreans warm. Puddings were fine for a vegan wanting choice. Such a great mix of people.

Tasty food

Ive been here quite alot now. The food here is always really tasty and it has a pretty varied menu-with deserts!!
Some of the staff are a little too cool for school though and often make it seem like having to serve you is some kind mundane chore.

I will never come back here

I've been here several times before and mostly liked the experience. However, the last time I went there I had a really [censored] time, which led to me walking out of the cafe. Basically I was very rudely asked to put on my shoes. I take my shoes off all the time as I generally enjoy to sit cross-legged. I tried to find out the reason for this from the manager and nothing substantive was given - apparently pre-empted a customer complaint even though no-one had complained. I like to be in places where I'm accepted for who and what I am. I didn't feel this here and won't come back again. I was angry at myself because I left quietly without finishing my meal. I wished I'd stayed there and refused to put my shoes on and made a scene.

Cons: You have to wear shoes, Not sure what their policy would be on flip-flops, Rude staff

I've died and gone to Stereo.

Arriving cold and hungry at Central Station in Glasgow, I was over the moon to find a Vegan restaurant conveniently situated nearby. As a non-animal eater, there are very few restaurants where I can eat everything on the menu... but this is one. Excellent food and service, surrounded by good vibes and great music. You must go there if you're in Glasgow.

Great food and space!

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this venue before as I come here pretty regularly! Although Mono is very much my favourite vegan venue in Glasgow, I really like Stereo for a bunch of reasons: it's conveniently close to both Glasgow Central and Queen Street stations; they offer delicious all-vegan food; they have a great music and events venue downstairs; and the atmosphere and staff are both brilliant. I've come here for food, film showings and gigs and I've always had a great time. Highly recommended; I'll certainly be coming back, not least for some of their very tasty pizzas!

Pros: Great vegan food, Good venue with lots going on

All vegan with great variety

It's a tough call as Glasgow is so good for vegan food but Stereo probably has my favourite menu. The buffalo cauliflower, cashew cheese sauce, and chips are among my favourites, they almost always have a special dessert that's amazing (a cheesecake of generous portion or a cookie sandwich), and service is usually pretty quick and better than it has been in the past. I would definitely advise booking as - fortunate for them but unfortunate for hungry vegans - of an evening it's often full of people drinking wine and beer, probably non-vegans not realising (nor caring) what wonderful pizzas, desserts, and tapas dishes are available for dining needs. Go vegan already if you're going to stop me getting a seat! There are meat places out there for you! (Rant)

Pros: Great menu -hard to choose!, Soup & sandwich deal, Amazing desserts

Cons: Interior a bit dull, not very cosy, When bands are on downstairs the floor vibrates, I echo bring back haggis fritters

Wonderful Staff

All vegan menu of comfort food. Haggis, bean quesadillas, brownies with ice cream, French fries, cookies, salads, ALL really tasty !!! I wasn't a fan of the hummus (too bland for me) not of the tomato gnocchi sauce (the sausage in it wasn't very tasty).

Pros: great variety and nice desserts

Cons: not "the" place for hummus ;)

Great food - I ordered the nachos with haggis bits and it was fantastic, came in a massive portion. The cashew cheese was extremely tasty, all very affordable too.

Great selection

Vegan, laid back, indie style bar/restaurant for informal dining. They wide selection of food on offer, with daily specials and the menu changes often.

I will second a previous posters recommendation of the tempeh "TLT" sandwich (tempeh instead of bacon). Delicious (huge!) sandwich. The buffalo cauliflower on the tapas menu is also highly recommended.

Pros: vegan, big portions, good value

Cons: bring back the haggis fritters

Favorite place in Glasgow

Stereo is somewhere between a restaurant and a pub, it can be noisy but the food is great, very creative.
The staff is friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is unique.
We are sure to go there at least once every time we are in Glasgow.

Pros: Great food, Friendly and attentive staff, Cool atmosphere

Cons: Can be noisy on a Friday night

OK food if you're not in a hurry

Dark and grotty atmosphere with wobbly, uncomfortable furniture. Music is sometimes too loud, even at lunchtime.

The mains and tapas are usually fairly decent. The sandwiches are good. When the soup of the day is tomato-based it is always too spicy.

The desserts are consistently terrible. One of yesterday's specials was a "pecan, walnut and maple crumble with vanilla ice cream and chocolate orange sauce", which sounded promising. The crumble itself seemed like an afterthought, because there was very little of it. The "sauce" was a lump so dense I couldn't put my spoon through it but had to scrape at it. I tend to get a dessert about twice a year, and to my disappointment they're always still awful.

There is a high staff turnover and service is often poor. Sometimes I've waited 15 minutes for someone to take my order, even when the place wasn't busy. I never bother paying at the table because it takes ages to get the bill and pay. Going up to the bar to settle the bill is much faster. I have often struggled to fit a meal into a one-hour lunch break despite working only 3 minutes away.

Best buy: The tempeh sandwich (TLT).

Pros: Mains and sandwiches

Cons: Service
