sadly way too spicy! - Edit
even the least spicy rice cakes were way to spicy, i couldn’t finish my portion because it was too spicy:( also the sauce wasn’t my favourite. only come here if you really enjoy spice

Definitely come here with an appetite. Food is super filling, and the sauce has the perfect amount of spice. It is a bit over priced for what you get, but if you come with a group and split dishes will probably worth your money. Great authentic Korean food

I had the veg Japchae one time, and veg Tteokbokki another time.

Tteokbokki:
Tasty rice cakes, a little spicy, but I found the sauce a bit thin and too sweet. However, I'm not sure if authentic Tteokbokki is normally like that.
I want to try the vegan lunch board.
This is a chain, so maybe I was expecting too much? But it is in the Chinatown area, and most of the customers are Asian...

I got the tteokbokki but they didn’t even put green onions on top, so it was boring but really spicy. The restaurant is basic and a bit expensive for what’s considered street food (18 AUD) with no add ons.

Delicious but make sure they know vegan - Edit
They have a few vegan dishes and a vegan menu in the window. The vegan ramen came with an egg on top. They were very apologetic, but it did give me an uneasy feeling re care. Was really delicious the food though.

I came to this Sinjeon after stumbling across the Melbourne one by chance…unfortunately the atmosphere/location/decor at this one is no match - but it is a humble, simple restaurant for a quick Korean fix.
Read moreI got the vegan k-school tray and my partner got the bibimbap…bibimbap definitely won this round! K-school tray was a little bland and boring, but bibimbap was filllled with flavour and both had fresh veggies that’s for sure.

Food was good although they got my partners order wrong. The premises was bit dusty/dirty unfortunately. A can of drink was very dirty around the rim.
