Read moreThe food was good in general, however I didn’t have a lot to choose from because they didn’t have an english menu. So it is good if you can speak and read croatian - at least thats what I think as a lot of people came and liked the food when we were there.
The another minus is that they don’t have an inside sitting place, only outside and in the cold it was horrible to sit outside and wait for the food.

The staff was very nice and the food tasted really good also. Unfortunately they only have different kinds of burgers, falafel and kebab on the menu and the sitting area outside isn't too beautiful.

Good food, big portions. We liked the spicy burger especially (not spicy, just flavorful). The Kebap would’ve been not so tasteful without the vegan cheese. But with it it was great.

Simple Green do a different main meal every day and also a selection of burgers and the like. we sampled both and some cakes. The food was excellent. The service was good if a little erratic. I certainly intend to make the bike ride out of town to try this place again.
Read moreAs of sept 2017 the front shop sign of simple green still says the name of the previous owners so it's not so easy to spot. But the address is correct.
As of June 2019 simple green has moved to a more central location!
The new central spot is a bit of a pain to find but once found you will know from now on how to find the best value quality vegan food available in Zagreb.
(If you come up Zelinska Ulica from Grada Vukovara Ulica there is a big white block of flats on your right with bars and shops on the ground floor. You need to go around to the otherside, East of the block and it is the middle on the ground floor).
Simple Green continue to offer their different daily menu which arrives super quick! (or you can have burgers an dthe like but they are less interesting and take longer to arrive!). The only downside is they are now busier and have less space and worse yet they ran out of cake!!! Did they not know I was coming??? I'll be back soon.
As of July 2020 Simple Green still provides the best deal for good quality vegan food in Zagreb that I know of.
BUT!!!! Make sure to arrive before 3.30pm as the kitchen usually closes by then.

Fully vegan, delicious and special dishes! The daily menue is affordable and combines traditional dishes with interesting combinations. Everything is freshly cooked and regional. The perfect spot if you have time till you need to catch a train, you can even take some snickers-balls to go.

My favourite vegan restaurant in Zagreb - Edit
The daily menu is very tasty, balanced, and changes with seasons and with what is available at the farmers' market. The owner is very friendly and likes to chat. My favourite dish (besides the daily menu) is vegan kebab cheese wrap, with seasonal vegetables. There are just a few tables, so call and reserve in advance. Wish the opening hours were longer.

They serve food and drinks in single-use tableware. The drinks are in plastic cups plus a lid plus a straw 🙄 and the cutlery are plastic as well.

I am from Zagreb and every time I can`t cook at home we go to eat here. At the beginning of the week, they give weekly menu on their web site (not facebook) so they have one main cooked meal a day with fresh vegetables from local farmers. Very good quality and also very delicious. Besides this main meal, every day they offer burgers and kebab, can`t decide which one is better! Highly recommend!

One of the best vegan lunch spots in eastern Europe - Edit
My partner and I had lunch here and honestly thought it was the best vegan food we've had on our eastern Europe trip. We had the spicy burger and the penne lentil bolognese and they were delicious. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in Zagreb.

Had the seitan kebab and falafel wrap. Both were really good, great sauces, and also got the spring rolls which were more like fried little egg rolls with sweet and sour sauce but a good appetizer. Kind of a walk from downtown Zagreb and a little hard to find at first because the 'simple green' sign is not very visible and I think it goes by another name, but worth it.

The food was quite nice, we had spaghetti with bolognese and one döner. The stuff we're really friendly and helpful, so kind. We enjoyed our meal pretty much. But unfortunately the bisteo was outside the city center so we had to walk long.

I had the kebab wrap and liked it a lot. Though it could have fresh herbs or something to give it more flavour. My boyfriend wasn‘t a big fan of his spicy burger as je was also missing flavour and found the bread roll quite dry. All in all I would go again and try the other options.

The food is healthy, I believe the focus more on healthy rather than taste. The lentil salad could have used more flavor. The burger was good, but they use white, cheap supermarket bread that makes it lose authenticity. They like to add cabbage in their dishes.
