Lovely place with retro vibe directly across from the beach. Food looked good but we got here around 3pm and they stop serving lunch at 2.30pm. They kindly let us order a salad but just note if you’re hungry get here earlier.

Read moreEverything is fresh and made in-house. The pumpkin tarte and chai were beyond delicious!! The lady even handed me some dried lemongrass at the end.
The over 120 years old building has a nostalgic cozy vibe.
Sitting here in the colder months with Kotatsu and a hot drink must be awesome!
I recommend checking their Facebook or Instagram for business days or call ahead.

The vegan macrobiotic set was incredibly tasty. The atmosphere, music and decoration made the waiting time a complete pleasure. I could really feel the love in every details of the place and food.
The chef then took some time to ask my name and where I was from. They really are amazing people.
I recommend this place to everyone who would like to take the time to live a heartfelt experience.

Beautiful old Japanese style house, with tatami floors and seated dining. Great relaxing environment, especially for families and children. Toys and books on offer for children to play with.

I live in Kamakura and this place is my go to happy place. Food and vibe is so nourishing. It’s an old Kamakura house built by one of the owners grandfather. Food is consistently awesome. And the chef spins vinyl while working the open kitchen. It’s homey yet elegant. And a cool place for kids to cut loose.

We looked up vegan restaurants in Kamakura and decided on this one because it sounded fun and interesting. It took us about 40 minutes to walk there. It was not easy to find. When we finally got there and went in, the host lady welcomed us and motioned towards the sitting area for us to go in. After we took our shoes off, she suddenly called over and said she had a group of 5 coming soon and she could not serve us. We were not offered to wait for other customers to leave either. Super hungry, super disappointed and already very tired we left.

This is a beautiful, old traditional Japanese house where the staff speaks English and are warm and friendly. I enjoyed my vegan lunch next to the small garden. There were a few families there at the time, so there were several young children and a lot of noise - not ideal for a date or quiet time, but perfect if you have children.

What a lovely relaxing place to eat. Food was excellent. Atmosphere was great. Very child friendly. An amazing place, slightly off the beaten track. A great place to connect with locals. We played trains with a toddler and watched a family doing origami. The two people running the restaurant were charming and couldn't do enough to help. What a find.

This was a very unique restaurant -- very homey and casual. The food was flavorful and the owners seemed very nice, polite and friendly. Check their post on their Facebook page because they have irregular days of operation!

I truly enjoyed my lunch at Shokudo Peisu. The building is an older one, with a lovely little garden. There are western tables as well as Japanese seating. Take your shoes off at the entry. The place was full of moms with their kids, having lunch. The vibe was friendly hippy, Japanese style. The owners do not speak much English, but they are extremely welcoming, though they were surprised that we found them! Lunch is a set menu, perfect if you do not speak Japanese (like me). All vegan, all tasty and healthy. I'm not entirely certain what I was eating but it was delicious and lovely; clearly a lot of care went into the preparation. I highly recommend this spot for lunch if you want to feel a little like a local. When we left, the owners even gave us a CD that the husband had made as he is also a DJ. Check facebook for hours.

I went with three other moms (who are not vegan), five kids total, one 5, three 2, and one 7 months. We all loved it! In the main dining room there are a ton of toys for your kids to play with, and there is a separate play room for older kids that is really neat. There is even a hammock! It felt like we were at a friend's house for lunch.
Read moreFor the food, it was all vegan, and they had one option for adults and either a soy kaarage set for children (comes with 2 onigiri and soup) or onigiri. The option for adults when I went was spring rolls. I loved the food and the atmosphere, and will definitely be coming back!
Be sure to check the Facebook page for hours, as they change every week. If you depend on the Happy Cow hours you might show up when they are closed.

I visited this place in October 2017 With friends who has kids.

With Miso soup, vegan burger and rice and pickles and other stuff.
I posted a picture here so please have a look.
Kids started to be bored as normal. But in this place we don't have to go out .
there is a play room for kids and you can watch them play across the window.
Food is good they have vegan cakes and cookies and they also have a small grocery corner.
And the owner loves music and the release their own mix sometimes.
The whole place is not in a hurry so you need to wait a little long until The food comes .

Next to Temple - Edit
Location: On Omachidori, a few blocks from Vegetable Cafe Kamakura (Sorafune) , Pace is in a wooden house next to the Jogyoji Temple. There's a sign "Japanese Vegan restaurant" at the entrance, and a calendar with opening days and times : usually Tues,& Thurs 12-16:00, occasionally Fri or Sun.
