Very well-done vegan diner/comfort food. We had the jalapeño smash burger, chicky sando, and fries. The meal was delicious, very hearty, and good value. Corey was behind the bar and we really enjoyed talking with him. Super cool neighborhood as well - lots of other bars, shops, and cafes. We will definitely be back!

Loved the flavor and texture of the chik’n, and the sauce - yum!! And it came out in a matter of minutes. Also had a delish hot strawberry matcha, and got mac & chz to go - yummy thick spiral pasta w creamy chz sauce. Bartender guy was so friendly. 10 min from SDF.

I ordered a Loaded Stack and had a bunch of the Chicken & Waffle Sando, both hit the spot and were packed with flavor and texture. With food like that, I had to have a shake as well - the best vegan one I've had to date. My only minor complaint is that the restaurant (perhaps intentionally) didn't call out that absolutely everything is plant-based.

Cute building, large menu, absolutely delicious food at reasonable prices, super friendly staff, lots of parking. I had a breakfast sandwich and my hub had a burger. Good toppings and yummy sauce for crispy fries. The tater tots with tofu and a sauce were soooooo good. The milkshake was finished in about a minute.

What a joy to have Shahar back and better than ever. Since moving and reopening, Shahar has expanded everything that made them great.
Read moreShahar has a larger seating area now, with bar and liquor for those inclined. However, the highlight of this restaurant for me has always been the food. Focusing on bringing standard American food vegan, it won’t be your healthiest stop, but if will be your heartiest.
I ordered the vegan chicken waffle sandwich that flew past expectations. The waffle was akin to a portable Liege waffle that brought hat extra sweet and ease to some flaky seitan goodness.
Every time I am in town, I always prioritize visiting Shahar (at least once). If you are vegan or vegan-adjacent I implore you to visit Shahar and have a sloppy good time.

I had the O Burger and Cookies and Cream Milk Shake. I have always argued that the best tasting food is the messiest food. This Burger proved me right. This is a vegan bar with comfort food. If you are looking for healthy whole foods, don't be silly and come here to complain. This is not the place for you. BUT, if you are looking for a perfectly sinful mouth-gasm that makes you feel like you may never need to eat again, go here.

I had the “chicken” bbq burger with tater tots and it was delicious. Has bbq and ranch sauce on it witb cole slaw. Great all vegan place with super friendly employee. They do stand up comedy nights and flea markets and all these cool things. Go support them!

No other burger is close to as good as Shahar’s! Even my non-vegan friends have said it’s the best burger they have ever had. It’s the gold standard for vegan junk food. Their new location is super fun, they now have a bar, and have comedy shows once a month! Owners are super friendly. Happy to have such a wonderful vegan business in Lou!

Partner and I ordered a little too much because everything sounded so good. The fully loaded bagel sandwich was really delicious, everything you'd want in a breakfast sandwich with good balance of sauce and textures. The chicky sando - also good but could have had some fresh stuff on it like lettuce/tomato and less breading maybe. It was kind of too crunchy/dry (same issue with the wings). Tots were delicious and crispy but unnecessary with such a heavy meal. Strawberry matcha drink was sweet and tasty, just a little pricey
