Small vegetarian restaurant located in the Hakaniemi area, behind Aktia bank. Offers mainly Vietnamese cuisine with fried rice, fried noodles, pho, and other choices with tofu and vegetables. Food is available for pre-ordering and takeaway. Reported May 2017 to be now fully vegan.
Note May 2020: confirmed open. Open Mon-Sat 11:00-19:00, Sun 12:00-19:00.

Fantastic fresh food in tiny space - Edit
Turned up Sunday mid afternoon and got the last table, pleasing to see it's such a popular place, with steady stream of locals collecting takeout. Loads of variety on the menu and the food was really fresh and tasty - though some chilli flakes in my dish despite it not being mentioned so do ask if you have challenges with spice (I bravely coped 😆). Would definitely go back, and there is a loo at the back, got a bit worried on arrival on that front!

Enchanted by the great reviews on Happycow, I really wanted to check this place out during my visit to Helsinki. The nearby road was a huge construction site, so we had to climb our way to the building, and found our way to the restaurant. The surroundings have a business vibe, but Sen Chay surprised with its laid back mystique — when we entered, there was no one at the counter, and everything was kind of confusing. The person who came to greet us didn‘t speak any English, but was nevertheless friendly, and the menu had both English and photos to describe the food. I was super hungry so I got the summer rolls and a tofu-rice dish. Both were very delicious!

Cute tiny place. If I would not have looked it up on Happy Cow before, I would not have found it. It is not very clear from the outside or inside that it is vegan. They but have quite a few different dishes. Allergies are not labelled but if you ask them about it, they tell you and can adjust. They could make the one dish I wanted (rice with tofu and vegetables in ginger sauce) gluten-free by not using the soy sauce, which was nice. The vegetables were very fresh and nicely cooked (still quite crunchy and not overcooked).

This small restaurant hidden slightly off the main thoroughfare serves very tasty vegan Vietnamese food. The flavours are spot on, the vegetables fresh, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Perfect for a quick lunch or an early relaxed dinner

Great vegan lunch place in Hakaniemi. Construction makes it a bit annoying to access right now but what can you do. My only gripe is that they don't have after lunch coffee... might seem silly to foreigners but this is almost non-negotiable in Finland :p Clean with friendly staff - I'll have to try it for dinner some time.

I can't say how many times I've visited there through the years. Not the coziest atmosphere, but absolutely the best vegan food for this price on this area. If visiting outside lunchtime I usually get goi cuon and mien tron. Good place for lunch break if you work nearby.
