Pricey and disappointing but tasty - Edit
We had a takeaway for lunch. It is one of the only places near Atocha station open at 11:00 AM with solid vegan options.
Read moreThey have (almost) no dedicated vegan dishes, but you can make some of the meat-based options vegan for a €2 supplement. The vegan bowls cost €15; it was really tasty, but the portion size was ridiculous. We were still quite hungry afterward.
The only vegan dessert available was the cinnamon roll. It was very good, despite the high price (€5).
I also found it quite disappointing that a specialty coffee shop in a European capital charges a €0.50 supplement for oat milk.
The staff seemed a bit lost and disorganized. There is limited seating and it was quite noisy, though that wasn't an issue for us since we ordered takeaway. It has a "franchise" vibe rather than the cozy cafe atmosphere you can find elsewhere in Madrid.
In conclusion, I was glad to find solid vegan options near Atocha, but the food is pricey and the portions were small. If I had had more options or time, I would not have eaten there.

Surprisingly good - Edit
I kind of stumbled upon this place when needing breakfast in a pinch and had a great smoothie and toast. It wasn't a highlight of our trip but was tasty still.

Not cheap but a lovely treat - Edit
I had a salad with vegan ‘chicken’ and avocado. It was a good size, fresh, tasty and nicely presented. I had a glass of orange juice and a cinnamon roll (the only vegan dessert) and it came to €22.50. The place has nice decor and is very handy for the train station, which is a bit devoid of vegan lunch options on the go 😕

Fast, delightful, & delicious - Edit
A busy place, but the staff makes it all seem calmly normal. Great selection, vegetarian items easily made vegan (and that is noted on the carta). Ate here our first two mornings in Spain, while staying in the Hotel Mediodia next door. 5***** !! (but not fully veg, so can technically only give it 4****....)

Best açai bowl I’ve ever had! - Edit
They had a convo deal which was a coffee, juice, bowl, toast (with toppings), and a pastry. I had the best açai bowl of my life here. They gave a huge portion of açai which is super rare and they froze it to the perfect consistency so that it was perfect by the time you ate it. The topping were also delicious. The cinnamon bun was pretty good but the highlight of the meal was clearly the açai for myself personally

Great vegan option right by the train station - Edit
Stopped here before boarding a train at Estación Atocha (it’s right across the street). Enjoyed the Curry Bowl de pollo with plant based chicken. Lots of options to add too. Also had a Sandía Lemonade which was super refreshing. Highly recommended!

Pricey but delicious 🥑🥪 - Edit
We went to grab takeaway breakfast and coffee and were not disappointed. We chose for the avocado sandwiches & cinnamon rolls. They accepted and accurately catered to my wish to not have cilantro and were very sweet about it. The coffee was also great, but was served in a plastic cup - should be improved. All other takeaway packaging was made from cardboard 👏🏻!

Smoothie bowls - Edit
Madrid is flooded with so many amazing vegan places, but it is hard to find a restaurant with smoothie bowls. We found Scarlett via this app and decided to go there. It's in front of Atocha station and almost next to Reina Sofia Museum, so very convenient for tourists. The organic acai smoothie bowls were great in taste but I wish they'd been bit bigger (or less expensive). Their menu photos on Google are outdated and prices not accurate (they've become around 2eu more in comparison). If you're in Ddire need of a smoothie bowl or fresh juices, I recommend the place.

Excellent meal(s)! - Edit
We went to this restaurant based on previous Happy Cow reviews, and it did not disappoint! We shared the Hummus de 2 sabores and then each had our own Aguacate al grill, quinoa y boniato and both were excellent, with very filling portions! There are so many options that we will definitely come back to try other selections.
Read moreReturn visit to try more selections, all were great! This time I had an orange smoothie, we split the guacamole appetizer, I had the vegan curry bowl and my wife had the paste with halloumi - all were fantastic!

Great find near station - Edit
We were so happy to be able to stock up on some vegan goodies (including some fruit and veggie which were sometimes difficult to find during our trip).
Read moreThe place is small but we had to wait less than 10 minutes to get a table. Service was friendly even though didn't understand everything, misheard mango smoothie for mango-kale smoothie. So I would keep an eye on making sure to underline you want the vegan option. The waitress was very understanding and double checked our order to be sure.
We shared the brunch menu which has several vegan options. I enjoyed the kale-mango smoothie and acai bowl. We also had the peanut butter sandwich with fresh fruit and cinnamon roll. Afterwards we also took a salad to go and the vegan chicken curry which tasted great, to go. Everything was fresh and delicious.
