Hidden gem, worth visiting - Edit
Found this place by accident actually. But we were very happy that it happened. The owner was very nice and friendly to talk to. Half of the dishes were vegan and very good. My favourite was spinach flat bread and the Baba ganoush. The decorations are also something very special and worth mentioning. Check it out.

Light meals and nice staff - Edit
This restaurant specializes in lebanese flat bread with different fillings - savory and sweet. The vegan ones are clearly labeled on the menu. In my opinion, it is a good place to have a light meal and if you already explored the fully vegan restaurants. The owner is very nice and explains everything.

We love this place! - Edit
It is rare to find a menu full of amazingly tasty food. We eat vegan cuisine extensively and this is one of the best you will find. With an authentic Lebanese menu prepared with, and served with, obvious care and attention. We really liked the soups for the range and depth of flavour, the choice of wines and the incredible desserts (especially the Halva). Daniel, the host, buys food fresh from the local market daily and even grows produce on land on the local Chateau Colline.

A welcoming place with great food. We had the dish of the day, soup with a salad and flatbread. Delicious mix of flavours in the salad and soup. Lovely taste to the flatbread. The white 'coffee' was also a delight.

We had two flatbreads and the soup of the day, it was delicious. For dessert we had the tiramisu cheesecake, which was actually the highlight. The owner was very friendly, too! The vegan options are clearly labelled. You sit in a really cozy atmosphere there!

Best vegan restaurant in Nice/South France - Edit
We had a family meal here a few days ago & absolutely LOVED it. I can’t fault the experience in any way. The restaurant is in the old town area of Nice & as soon as we stepped into the restaurant from the mid-day heat into the cool, air conditioned restaurant, we had a fantastic time. The owner, Daniel, was warm & friendly & explained the menu concept to us in fluent spoken English (we’re from the UK). We had delicious flat breads with melon gazpacho & a delicious quinoa/rocket leaves/salsa-type dish. It was original, extremely flavoursome & good sized portions. Service by all staff was efficient & friendly. The decor & ambiance was inviting & even the bathroom was clean & fresh too! Thankfully Daniel encouraged us to have desert & I’m glad we did. We shared a tiramisu cheesecake & some fig & geranium ice cream.
Read moreEverything we had was vegan. We’ve been vegan for years & have never eaten restaurant food as creative, original & delicious as this, it was obviously curated with so much care & imagination - it had Ottolenghi style vibes but more vegan options & attention to detail. For the quality of the food we had, in the location, I felt the meal was very reasonably priced. We don’t have anywhere this exciting here in London, other than French restaurant Gauthier Soho. An absolute treat to visit Saj, I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. It’s also the only vegan restaurant in Nice which is open in the evenings. Well done Daniel, you have an outstanding restaurant.

This must be the place - Edit
We ended up going here on a whim and are so glad we did. To say the experience was amazing is an understatement. The owner and the staff so clearly care about the food they are making and the customers they are serving. They explained the food incredibly clearly and asked us if we had any dietary restrictions (so rare in France). The inside ambiance is calm and beautiful. The food was amazing, highly recommend the tiramisu cheesecake (vegan!). AMAZING value.

Fresh Lebanese sandwich salad soups, small restaurant in old town - Edit
Fresh made, pleasant competent service, fluent English spoken. Sandwiches served in baskets. Look out for upsell and what you order to receive what you expect. It’s small restaurant so understand but can be deceiving.

Great service and special dishes! - Edit
The owner is super friendly and explains a lot about the dishes they serve. I love it! I had two flat breads, one with spinach and one with chocolate and banana as desert. Both were fantastic. The price per dish (without desert) is around 10€, which seems pretty fair to me. Will visit this place again!

Wonderful experience - Edit
SAJ is a lovely, charming restaurant in Nice's beautiful Old Town. They serve vegetarian/ vegan dishes from Libanon, Greece and Cyprus. The owner is Libanese. It was my first experience with this kitchen so I asked the friendly waitress what she would recommend.
Read moreI ordered the Emincés d'epinards. Some kind of flat bread stuffed with spinach, sumac, onions and spices. This was so tasty I wanted to try more so I also ordered the vegan tapas. Again, absolutely delicious. For me the portions could have been bigger, but my apetite was huge though. The vegan chocolate ice cream was a delight. After the dessert I tried the white coffee, which I now know, is not made from coffee beans but orange blossom mixed with hot water and cane sugar, on my behalf. Normally with honey.
Too bad SAJ is not all vegan, but I can surely recommend them!
Pros: Many vegan options, tasty, Charming place, lovely staff
Cons: Not all vegan

Good spot for a light lunch - Edit
My partner and I both had the salad of the day- mine without the cheese- which was a nice way to get some fresh vegetables in. We also shared one of the vegan flatbreads (there are several to choose from) which was fine, although I sort of wish I had held out for some socca elsewhere. Overall a decent spot though; the owner speaks English and it’s very easy for both vegetarians and vegans to order.
