Amazing food, cozy place - Edit
A really amazing place just a short walk from the city centre. The food is made with love by the owner herself. We had the soup of the week and the vegan tartar as a starter and the famous lasagna as a main course. Everything was really tasty! 10/10

The nicest time here! A gourmet feast! - Edit
I had a delicious and friendly experience at Sandra’s!
Read moreI ordered a Coke Zero, and asked her for her recommendations:
The croquettes
Her “Legendary Vegan Lasagna”
And the raw cake.
I trusted her and got all three and omg so good.
The croquettes manage to be light while satiating my desire for a fried food and their flavor was great as well as the aioli. I got the spicy and the heat isn’t too much!
The lasagna was quite robust and had a very wonderful depth of flavor with great umami and the creamy “cheese” on top was delicious.
And I wasn’t convinced by the description of the raw cake when she recommended it because she said it was “guilt free” and so fresh. I wanted to be a little guilty but ultimately I trusted her and it was SO GOOD.
Sandra, the owner, was happy to chat with me and she seemed thrilled to have someone there who was enthusiastic about her restaurant and her cooking. She has been vegetarian since she was a teenager and vegan since 2012 and she is the chef and also most likely the person to greet you upon your arrival. Some other reviewers have mentioned her assertiveness about people not using the bathroom unless you’re eating dinner there, and there’s a sign on the door saying that it’s a restaurant, not a tapas bar. Ignore the bad reviews, just go there for dinner. It’s gourmet and worth every penny!

The best food eaten all holiday! - Edit
We visited here a few nights ago and everything we ate was just delicious!
Read moreWe had the lasagne and Greek pastry, both were delicious. The pastry had a gorgeous creamy cheesy flavour filling and was so good!
I said to my husband whilst there I wish Sandra had a cookbook we could take home as I'd love to be able to eat her food all the time!
Staff were also so friendly, nothing was too much to ask and we had a lovely chat about vegan food. It was really obvious a lot of love has gone into the restaurant and the food itself.
Definitely recommended 100%!

Delicious food and lovely staff - Edit
This restaurant serves absolutely delicious, original and homely food. The owner, Sandra, is lovely and very accommodating. The two mains we had were amazing, and we took a delicious raw dessert back to our hotel to eat. It was a lovely evening and I would highly recommend it to anyone staying in Palma.

Get the Croquettes! - Edit
This fully vegan place is cute and ran by an adorable Mexican woman who makes the food with love.
Read moreI had the croquettes to start with this spicy sauce which was one of the best things I had in a long time!
Also had the black bean burrito and the tiramisu. All delicious, and I can't recommend it enough!
If I had to be critical I think the tiramisu could have been better. It was slightly sloppy and I didn't get the different layers that I was expecting so the texture was a little off. The taste was still very good.
As others mentioned, it is clearly stated that you need to order a meal here so you can't just come in for a drink or just dessert.

The worst vegan experience - Edit
The worst experience I’ve ever had at a vegan restaurant.
Read moreThe service was shockingly rude from the moment we arrived. We came specifically for dessert after already having dinner, but were aggressively told that this was “a restaurant, not a bar” and that we were expected to order main courses. When we explained we weren’t hungry, the waitress/owner raised her voice, grabbed the sign from outside, and waved it in my face to prove her point.
We left without ordering anything.
What makes this even more surprising is that the restaurant was completely empty. Instead of welcoming paying customers, they chose to drive us away.
The place also looked run-down, with no working air conditioning and a shabby restroom. I can’t comment on the food because we never got the chance to try it, but the customer service alone was enough to ensure we’ll never return.

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Rude customer service , Shabby decor, Not working air conditioning

Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m sorry that your visit ended on such a negative note, but I believe it is important to clarify what happened for future guests reading this review.
Read moreYou arrived at the restaurant shortly before closing, after having already had dinner elsewhere, and wanted to come in only for dessert. At that time we were already closing and our kitchen service had finished. Sabores de Sandra is a restaurant, rather than a bar or dessert café, and we cannot keep the restaurant open beyond our advertised closing time for a dessert-only visit.
You were also carrying drinks purchased elsewhere and intended to consume them inside the restaurant. We cannot allow outside drinks to be consumed on our premises, as this is prohibited under the conditions of our commercial insurance.
Regarding the air conditioning, it had been switched off because we were already closing; it was not out of order.
I’m sorry that the conversation felt unpleasant to you. That was not my intention. However, explaining our closing time and the conditions under which we can operate is not the same as refusing service to paying customers.
We welcome our guests with great care, but we also need to respect our closing time and the conditions under which our restaurant is insured.
I’m especially sorry that you left without trying our food, as the culinary experience is at the heart of what we do.
BenjaminBuchanan
I’m sitting at Sandra’s restaurant right now and there is AC, chic lighting and decor, and best of all is Sandra who has been so sweet and genuine as the owner, chef, and probably someone who gets a lot of walk-in traffic from people looking for a bar. She’s been vegetarian since she was a teenager and vegan for years and I had such a lovely time here. I hope that on your next visit to Mallorca you may get to experience something similar.

Disappointment - Edit
This is the worst experience in a restaurant I've ever had. I've never never seen such poor service. Instead of the staff politely saying that you need to order a full course, they started speaking in a rude manner and pushed the chalkboard in my face. Is it that hard to be polite? Even excluding the rude staff, the restaurant's overall look was also ugly. Be better than this.

We are sorry that this is how you chose to describe your visit, but we must respectfully correct several inaccuracies.
Read moreOur restaurant has a very clear concept. We are a restaurant, not a café or dessert bar, and we do not serve guests who have already dined elsewhere and wish to order only desserts. This policy is clearly displayed at the entrance.
Your group also questioned our policy regarding outside beverages, which are not permitted inside the restaurant. The sign was simply shown to explain our house rules after they had been challenged. It was never "pushed in anyone's face," and we reject that characterization.
We always strive to treat our guests with courtesy, but we also expect our house rules to be respected. They apply equally to everyone.
We understand that our restaurant may not suit everyone's expectations, and we respect that. However, we believe it is important that reviews reflect what actually happened rather than an exaggerated version of events.
We wish you all the best.
Jacob23
When you want to call someone out for something you can either do it politely or impolitely. Speaking to someone impolitely removes potential customers. I was more than willing to buy a full course takeaway if you were polite which clearly wasn't the case. You cannot expect me to dine in a restaurant which treats me without respect. Also if you want to be formal then don't add a sarcastic remark at the end.

Good and tasty - Edit
We ate with 4 people and really liked the food. The owner was so kind. I saw a dessert on Happycow and asked the owner for it. She didn’t have the cream at the moment and offered to make it with pistachio cream. And it was amazing!! Really good and tasty dessert.

Toll, dass es komplett vegan ist aber.. - Edit

Expensive prices and lack of hospitality - Edit
We were so excited to visit this place during our vacation and walked all across Palma in the heat with our 4-year-old and 7-month-old baby just to support a local vegan business. Unfortunately, it was a deeply disappointing experience.
Read moreFrom the start, the atmosphere felt very cold. The owner’s first words to us were simply: "I don't have a high chair." We told her that was totally fine, as we didn't need one.
When we tried to order, things became incredibly difficult. The menu is in a high price range with dishes over €20, and there are no options for small kids. Since fries were listed with the burger, we politely asked if we could order a side portion for our 4-year-old. She flatly refused, saying: "I don't have that." When we pointed out it was on the menu, she just replied that she only sells full dishes exactly as written.
We were completely taken aback. We would have gladly paid extra for the fries and were ready to order two expensive mains and drinks for ourselves, easily spending €80 . Refusing a simple side of fries for a small child felt incredibly rigid and unwelcoming. Her arrogant attitude towards our family made us feel like a total nuisance, so we decided to leave without ordering.
As a dedicated vegan, it makes me sad to write this. Even if the food here is great, people should not be treated this way. This absolute lack of kindness and cooperation is hard to understand, and I honestly feel a business with this attitude does not deserve its HappyCow partner status.

Cons: Extremely unfriendly and cold service, Lacks warmth and hospitality, high price range with zero flexibility

Dear Markus,
Read moreThank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review about a meal you ultimately never had.
You are absolutely right about one thing: at Sabores de Sandra, we only serve the dishes that appear on the menu. We do not operate as a fast-food restaurant, and unfortunately our kitchen is not equipped with a secret emergency stash of children's fries hidden somewhere behind the lasagna.
As for hospitality, it is true that my first words were "I don't have a high chair." This was simply an honest answer to a practical question. In retrospect, perhaps I should have opened with a dramatic welcome speech celebrating your heroic walk across Palma in the heat.
You mention being prepared to spend €80. While we are always grateful for customers who choose to dine with us, the value of a guest is never measured by how much they intend to spend, but by the mutual respect shown during the interaction.
What saddens me most is that an entire judgment about kindness, arrogance, hospitality, and even our HappyCow status was formed without tasting a single dish, ordering a single drink, or spending more than a few minutes in the restaurant.
Fortunately, the hundreds of guests who have actually eaten here are in a better position to evaluate the food, the atmosphere, and the service.
We sincerely wish you and your family a wonderful continuation of your travels and hope you found the fries you were looking for.

Lovely service, mixed overall experience - Edit
It truly pains me to give only 3 stars.
Read moreWe were warmly welcomed, and the owner was friendly and attentive throughout our visit to the restaurant. Unfortunately, what I didn’t enjoy was the atmosphere. I didn’t really feel like I was sitting in a restaurant, but rather in a school or university cafeteria.
And then the Prices.. They felt rather high for the location and the overall quality of the food. My boyfriend was very enthusiastic about the Lasagna. He said it was really legendary and deserved it’s name.
I had the Quesadillas and found them okay, but they had a somewhat strange aftertaste.
The next day, I ended up in bed with a stomach bug, while my boyfriend felt fine. Of course, it’s impossible to say with 100% certainty that it was caused by the food, but it does seem plausible.
Additionally, there was a cat walking around the restaurant. I don’t mind this in general, but with regard to hygiene, it did make me a bit uneasy.
