Good ramen but expect to wait - Edit
Only one vegan option on the menu but it was tasty. Flavorful broth and housemade noodles. Always a line out the door no matter what time it is, so expect to wait. I just thought the toppings were a bit weak.

Yes they don’t only serve vegan, but their vegan ramen is by far the best I’ve ever had. So much flavor and their handmade noodles are out of this world. Super delightful staff and owner. Very kind and welcoming.

The only spot with vegan food in Takayama - Edit
Their vegan tomato ramen is totally worth the wait. It takes a bit to get inside the place and for the food to be done, but they make the ramen and broth from scratch. I arrived at 12 and got the last possible serving of vegan ramen, lucky! So arrive early to get it.

They serve the spicy bits on a seperate plate so you can decide the level of spice yourself. It is quite good, but I cannot handle such high levels of spice, haha.
The staff was super kind and asks your country while you wait, to which I said the Netherlands(Oranda in japanese). When serving the food they said "have a nice meal" in dutch which was super sweet. They also thanked us in dutch when me and my wife left.
Overall, highly recommend it!

A good vegan option at last - Edit
We’ve been in Japan for a week now and struggled in various places to find a vegan dish. This ramen is truly vegan and tastes delicious. Maybe not as cheap as some options but the restaurant is clean and well furnished in a natural style with local staff. Pay and order on the machine as you walk in, but they do accept cards if you ask.
