Amazing broth - Edit
I tried the cold ramen at Coachella and I can honestly say it was the best ramen broth I’ve ever had. If I’m in LA again, I’m 100% going here!

OMG - this is the best ramen ever - Edit
This little ramen counter in the Grand Central Market is like something out of Blade Runner (which was filmed there). It's owned by a winner of Top Chef (Ilan Hall) and they make a ramen using sunflower seeds and miso. It's incredible. They have gluten free options. Everything is plant based and super delicious.
Read moreThere's some amazing appetizers; a beet based "spicy tuna" and a to-die-for avocado on crispy rice, which is a must have.
I would go there every day if I could. Open at night on Thurs - Sat. Closes around 3 PM the rest of the time.
Pros: Food, Ambiance is great, but it's not a date restaurant.
Cons: Parking

NYC pop-up - Edit
Ok so I haven't actually been to the LA restaurant, but I had a chance to try their food when they had a pop-up in New York City a few years ago! Absolutely amazing, the boiled egg was so realistic!

We only tried two things but they were super yummy. Friendly staff, good prices. It doesn't get any better than a 100% vegan ramen shop!

Fresh and delicious ramen - Edit
Wow! I loved this place’s “interpretation” of Dan Dan noodles, it was spicy and delicious. The Garlic Ramen was superb, the ramen itself was fresh and chewy (in the best noodley way), I liked the broth and extra props to the melt-in-your mouth vegan eggs! Highly recommend getting an extra egg for your bowl. I only wish customer service was a little friendlier, or else definitely 5 stars!

Greatest vegan broth ever - Edit
Truly astounding all-vegan ramen restaurant with the greatest vegan broth ever, and one which undergoes a long and studious cooking process to make it so. All the side dishes on the menu are similarly fantastic. Try the vegan "hard-boiled egg" in the ramen--a true curiosity!

Very flavorful. Must try vegan spot - Edit
You know the ramen is good when the vegetable broth is irresistible too. Highly recommend the original vegan ramen from here. It’s what I got and it did not disappoint.

Superb Ramen / Cool Location - Edit
This is the newest restaurant in LA's legendary Central Market. Now has OnniPork available!
Read moreI ordered the poutine and OG Ramen. The Ramen came with a vegan hard boiled egg. Although the egg looked like the real thing, the experience was like eating gelatinous sesame seeds. I cannot say it was exceptional tasting, but fun to try. I cannot stand the taste or smell so eggs, so it felt weird to see a hard boiled egg in my bowl of ramen.
The broth was strong and flavorful, and a bit on the spicy side which I like. The noodles were very fresh, and there was little broth which I prefer.
Other than the egg being a bit odd, the ramen itself was excellent, and some of the best ramen I have ever had.
The last and only time I have had poutine was in Vancouver, Canada, and it was very unusual to see a Japanese restaurant offering this dish.
I highly recommend this restaurant.

The ramen was great, really well-seasoned. We don't love eating hot soup out of plastic containers though.

100% vegan - Edit
I was in DT near the last bookstore for a side job when we finished we were all famished; despite it being 95 degrees I had to have Ramen. So we all went over to Central Market. The options were amazing, a little overwhelming only because I expected there to be like 2 or 3 items to choose from. To keep things moving I asked what was popular and was told the garlic or the spicy ramen. 2 of us got the spicy 1 order of garlic, and an order of the cold noodles with their “pork”.
Read moreThe spicy broth was amazing so much flavor not just heat. I wish there were more mushroom pieces I loved the flavor and texture. My friends really enjoyed their food as well. I think next time I’m placing a huge order to take home and enjoy over it all.
Pros: 100% vegan, Variety of flavors, Fresh ingredients
Cons: Seating is hard to find

Best vegan ramen! - Edit
I’m not usually a big fan of ramen when I get it in Omni restaurants. I often find it to be disappointingly bland and nothing special for $20. This was much better! I tried the vegan pork and vegan egg with spicy broth. So good! I devoured it.

Ramen Hood - Edit
Review from 2019. Finally made it to Ramen Hood after seeing all of my Yelp friends posts...I just had to try the vegan egg. Overall, the vegan egg was more novel than flavorful, but it was good and very creative...the yolk even popped once pierced.
Read moreI ordered the spicy ramen, which was not spicy at all. If you're between this ramen and the garlic ramen, I'd suggest going with the garlic ramen for more flavor. Nevertheless, the broth was still tasty and it was clear they had put a lot of thought into the recipe. The noodles were thick and cooked just right (firm).
I took advantage of the combo deal (one ramen, one side, one drink for $15) and tried the poutine banh mi fries. The fries were good but I felt they lacked toppings...only the top fries had a slight amount of cheese and sauce on them and the bottom were missing out on the poutine party. I appreciated the bottle of jasmine green tea with my ramen.
Overall, I'd head back, but might try a different time to avoid the 30 minute line.

Hard one - Edit
I was over the moon to try this restaurant. I'd hadn't heard much about it but I loved the concept. First parking is impossible. (at least pre-covid it was) Then when I finally found the place, I couldn't find the actual restaurant. Then it's not really a restaurant, just a few seats around a counter. I thought that if you have to jump through all of these hoops, the food will probably be amazing. The food was fine at best. Nothing stood out or was special. The place was so loud. Ultimately it was just eating OK food and an insanely crowded venue with nowhere and terribly expensive parking that was far away. I'm going to give it another try, but it was rough for me.

great ramen, great appetizers - Edit
Located inside the Grand Central Market and has a ramen bar for sitting at, otherwise you use the communal tables and take it "to-go". The egg isn't interesting aside from the visual factor. The ramen is great, but sometimes the broth is a hit or miss. Highly recommend trying all of their appetizers. Sometimes they allow people who ordered outside food to sit in the bar which is common place in the market, but personally it's absolutely disgusting watching carnists chew down on animal flesh when you're trying to enjoy a nice vegan ramen at a vegan establishment.

Lived up to the hype - Edit
Am I the 100th reviewer?? Whoot whoot!
Read moreI love ramen and this place made my heart sing. Located in a historical urban emporium loaded with food vendors, the atmosphere added to the experience. Given Covid-19, they have a smaller menu and you can't sit "at the bar." We chose the Cold Ass Noodles (does not have broth), Garlic Ramen (requested a spicy base), OG Ramen, Togarashi Tater Tots, Avocado Toast, Vegan Egg, and Bahn Mi Poutine.
Our 3 ramen dishes were amazing and fulfilled my longing for vegan ramen. The noodles are thicker than usual and I liked it. The vegan egg and Avocado Toast were delightful. I found the Tater Tots to be way too salty and the Bahn Mi Poutine has daiya cheese which I really don't like, but my husband devoured it.
Pros: Great price, Hip atmosphere
