Lots of veg options - Edit
Small cafe with friendly staff and many veg options. Heads up that the bread has egg in it.

Delicious non-Asian options - Edit
If you're looking for a dish without rice, this is it! My partner and I were excited to have mashed potatoes for some variety, and both dishes we ordered were very tasty and affordable.
Read moreBe aware that portions are quite small though so you may need to order multiple courses to fill yourself up!
Pros: Some variety of options
Cons: Portions not that big

Food wasn’t really tastefull - Edit
The food didn’t taste very good.
Read moreIt was not tasteful.
Although there was a sauce in my bowl it did not had a good taste.
Also had some rainbow rolls with peanut sauce but there were also really boring.
Wouldn’t recommend.

Delicious poke bowl - Edit
The dish I had, the poke bowl, was really delicious and fresh! And loved the mint ice tea. I will definitely go back to try some of the other items. BUT a major challenge was how loud it is. It is located on a busy corner and you sit right on the road. I was eating alone so it was ok but I wouldn’t take someone with me if I wanted to visit or have a conversation.

Tastiest food in ubud - Edit
I LOVED the food here. I ate in and got mushroom stroganoff and was soooo tasty! I also got a grab of the cashew curry which was nice too.

Note - not fully vegan! - Edit
I just asked out of habit and she told me all the noodles dishes are not vegan due to egg noodles.. doesn’t look like the menu has changed, it seems these dishes have always been non-vegan just not clearly marked in menu. On a closer look the dishes on that page only are named “veggie ramen” etc. not vegan.
Read moreAlso noted they have yoghurt in their smoothie bowls? So be aware!
However, tasty food with loads of options! Nothing special, but fresh and nice. I like that the taxes are already included in the price.

A bit of false advirtising. Was bummed when they said half the menu isnt vegan.

Same! And I feel bad for the people before us that had the ramen thinking it was vegan 😢

Although the restaurant itself could do with some tlc and a makeover, the food was absolutely delicious! I had pho/noodle soup and my husband had the chickpea curry and we both loved our food! One of our fav meals in ubud! Very cheap too!!

Amazing bowls - Edit
I ordered the protein bowl and damn, it really came with lots of protein. Lentils, chickpeas, tofu and edamame. A dream. In combination with the avocado dressing it's just perfect. My boyfriend had a dragonfruit smoothie bowl and it left him happy and satisfied. We really enjoyed this restaurant.

If you're in the Ubud area, I would definitely recommend checking it out - Edit
Pumpkin & Beetroot Cafe is a charming spot with delightful road-facing seating and a welcoming ambiance. The attentive staff provide swift service, and the menu offers reasonably priced dishes. If you're not fond of lizards, I'd recommend opting for the road-facing seats as there tends to be quite a few around. I was pleasantly surprised to discover a rejuvenating vegan Mango lassi, which I had been searching for, for quite some time. The Vegan Caprese was flavorful, though I believe the Tofu could have been stir-fried a bit to enhance its crispiness. The Lentil Burrito was appetizing and fulfilling enough for a single person. If you're in the Ubud area, I would definitely recommend checking out Pumpkin & Beetroot Cafe.

Mixed bag - Edit
A number of vegan options to choose from at standard Ubud prices. Some are good, others not so much.
Read moreCurry with mashed potatoes was a personal favorite; good combo of flavours and textures, and filling. The fried noodle dish, meanwhile, was among the worst meals I've had in Asia; overcooked vegetables, undercooked noodles, and generally just tasted like a pile of soy sauce.
So I had mixed experiences here. But it seems popular, so maybe my bad experience was just an off day.
The restaurant is open to a busy street, and it can get noisy. The staff is friendly, and they take credit cards.

Super sweet and helpful staff, it’s on a bit of a side street which made for a bit more of exploring. Food was delicious, some dishes were small but still a fine size and everything tasted really nice

Best vegan food in Ubud - Edit
This a small cafe but excellent staff and even better food. We had our first meal in Ubud at this place right after visiting Monkey forest. We liked it so much that we went again in the evening and again same consistent quality of food and service. Must visit and must try .

Good spot with tasty spot and nice atmosphere. I ordered cashew nut stir-fry (tofu with vegetables and cashew in sweet sauce with mashed potatoes) and it was good. Staff is polite, food is not long to wait and not expensive.

NOT EVERYTHING IS VEGAN - Edit
Beware that somethings have egg or dairy in them like the breads. They claim to be vegan/plant based but are not fully. Decent food flavours.

Ein kleines schnuckeliges Restaurant, mit direktem Blick auf die geschäftige Straße. Das ist auch schon direkt der große Nachteil, es ist nämlich sehr laut, aber mit der Zeit gewöhnt man sich daran.
