Good Food, Bad Service - Edit
Had a 5:30pm reservation on a Tuesday. Arrived at 5:23 and there were only a few people inside already. Hostess sat us at the tables in the front across from the bar. Everyone else who came in continued to be seated in the back so not sure why we were up there but we were fine with the spot. About 15 minutes later we noticed no one had come over to us yet. Waited a few more minutes and my sister kindly asked one of the guys at the bar if someone was coming to take care of our table. He said he would find out. Another 5 minutes go by and nothing. I went up to the hostess and kindly asked if there was a server for the front section because we had been here for 25 now and no one had come over to us once. She said “there’s only one waitress”. I totally understand and we are never the type to complain or anything but 25 minutes is crazy and we watched groups of people who came after us get served. She notified the waitress who came over and told us she was so sorry for the wait she didn’t know no one came over to us. She was very nice and said she would tell them to expedite it. We just didn’t want to wait another half hour because we clearly had been forgotten about. We ordered the volcano roll and the Japanese steak. Food came quickly and it was very good.

Decent, but Not Memorable - Edit
We visited this place and it was good, but nothing extraordinary. I feel like it’s more about the experience than the food itself. Overall, it was fine but not particularly memorable

Review: Planta Queen
Read moreThe food at Planta Queen was tasty and well presented. The Hawaiian Crunch Maki had a nice mix of flavors, but was a bit too sweet for me. The General D’s Cauliflower was flavorful, though also a little on the sweet and salty side.
Overall, both dishes were really good—just slightly heavy on the sweet and salty for my taste . Still a great place for creative vegan food.

Loved the toasted and pressed sushi - Edit
Food was delicious. 10/10 would eat again.
Read moreThe food came quickly but service was slow, even though I was one of two people seated at the bar. Took a while to order and had to flag the staff down multiple times over a ten min period to bring the check. They might have been having an off night though.

Excellent - Edit
Vegan sushi was so good and the broccoli peanut dish was outrageous. We'll be returning. Also had a happy hour deal the day we went (Monday) and the rolls were $9 each

Best vegan asian - Edit
In my opinion, this is the best “upscale” vegan asian cuisine in the city. I love almost everything on the menu, including the drinks. The ambiance in the restaurant is also great, I prefer to sit upstairs rather than downstairs which feels more crowded.

Delicious Asian food - Edit
Everything we tried was great, I actually liked that it arrived at different times whenever ready since we shared small plates. Service was a bit on the slow side but great for a nice lunch! They were very accommodating of my brother’s sesame allergy as well.

amazing appetisers - Edit
sister date 💕 we ordered the firecracker wings and bang bang broccoli to share and oh wow!!! these were so delicious, we could have eaten them all over again. for mains i ordered the korean chick'n sandwich, which i actually regret ordering as i thought it would have had more asian flavours but was just a vegan chicken burger in a bun with some kimchi - a bad ordering on my part, the food was still delicious despite this. my sister got the truffle fried rice which was also very yummy. i'd definitely recommend this place and would love to come back to try some of the other appetisers and order myself a better main next time. the cocktails and drinks here are also great here - loads to choose from 🥂

Greeted with an extensive menu full of wonderful offerings. It was tough to decide. Busy place but good service. We had the bang bang broccoli, crab Rangoon, stacked potatoes, General D cauliflower, crunch salad, and Japanese steak. Everything was wonderful!

Amazing - Edit
Took awhile for us to get seated but they were nice enough to give us a free appetizer. All the food was amazing - the appetizers are definitely the star of the show. And the matcha cheesecake is to die for.

Planta queen continues to wow. I'd only been to their Toronto location before. NYC has a similar menu. The food and drinks are excellent. I wish I had one of these restaurants closer to where I live

Consistently delicious food and great staff - Edit
Planta Queen is one of the most consistent vegan restaurants in NYC. Everything I've had here so far has been tasty and the portions aren't skimpy, which is much appreciated. On this visit, a friend and I ordered the tofu 'salmon', Japanese steak, crispy 1000 layered potatoes, baby gem green goddess salad, carrot cake and banana pudding. All delicious and the Japanese steak was the best preparation of the Chunk Steak I've had so far from different restaurants.
Read moreWe were sat in the dining space below the main floor. It has a different feel but nicely done too. As always, the staff were friendly and professional. My only criticism is that the music is always too loud. This makes diners raise their voices to be heard which creates a cacophonous atmosphere. A quieter vibe would make for a much more pleasant experience.
Planta Queen is one place I feel confident recommending to anyone. If you're someone who's hesitant about trying plant-based food or knows someone who is, Planta is the place to dispel any fears of bland, unsatisfying food. Come and enjoy!
Pros: Delicious food, Good value , Friendly staff
Cons: Music too loud

Never a bad choice - Edit
This is the 2nd Planta I’ve been to, and it seemed pretty much the same. Maybe the only difference for this one is that the vibe in this location is excellent.
Read moreFor the flavor/price ratio it didn’t blow me away, but my non-vegan friends liked it. Definitely best experienced with a group so you can try a lot of dishes.

The spicy tuna roll was so good. Also the beef and broccoli, I would've never suspected mushrooms (as a mushroom hater). Drinks were very yummy too!

Grateful to have this option late on a Sunday night. First time visiting any of their locations and it was perfect for sharing a few starters and a cocktail. The crispy rice is delicious. I look forward to sampling the other dishes in the future.

Upscale fine vegan dining - Edit
The food here was exceptional. This was upscale vegan dining at its finest! So many plates to choose from. I especially loved the crab Rangoon dip, the volcano roll and spicy tuna hand roll. This is definitely a special occasion location. I was a bit annoyed to have to wait 30 minutes past my reservation to get seated, and the portions could’ve been a little bigger but overall so amazing.

Delicious Vegan Sushi - Edit
I came for Planta’s Monday evening sushi all you can eat and discount deal. I had a “crab” Rangoon, a variety of sushi and the big cookie. The “crab” Rangoon was good however the addition of a vegan cheese would provide extra flavour, a variety sushi which were all delicious and the big cookie. I was not a fan of the cookie as it was quite dry and lacking of flavour. Unfortunately there were problems using a coupon that the restaurant had promoted which took some time to resolve and their app (on which the coupon was present) was glitching throughout the evening. #Veganuary

Always love Planta’s food. They don’t write it on the menu, but they use Chunk meat for their steak and the flavors are like no other—the sesame, bok choy, onion, furikake, its just awesome!

The three of us shared the Baked Crab Roll, Queen Caesar, Bang Bang Broccoli, 1000 Layer Crispy Potatoes, Udon Noodles, and Singapore Noodles. For dessert we shared the Pumpkin Cheese Cake. All were delicious, perfectly prepared and presented. Efficient and friendly staff. Lovely ambiance. Very popular too.
