Overpriced bar - Edit
Trader Joe’s next door has picnic tables. Nothing like Planta in Brentwood (which has great pizza). Outdoor seating is a hot commodity here. The food is bland and unfilling. Half the menu here is drinks, despite the name “Cocina.” They do not have the oven We had the “lobster” (heart of palm) rolls, on par with Wienerschnitzel. We also had the 5 croquetas, which were decent, but not 16 dollars decent. The restaurants layout is also very unsettling, constantly people moving around you in the front. No view unless ur in the very back.

Very good upscale vegan restaurant + plenty of GF options - Edit
Great experience overall. Required a reservation, which was quick to make online. Staff was all super friendly. Got seated outside in a comfy booth, which was super vibey at sunset on the marina. Server Zach was great, food came extremely fast in well-timed courses. Music was a little loud but otherwise was a perfect visit.

Excellent - Edit
Open layout right by the water. Great views friendly staff.
Read moreThe food comes out as made. The tuna wasabi nachos were delicious and unique! The French toast comes with a heaping pile of cream! It kind of tastes like a funnel cake. The truffle udon noodles were super great. I went with non vegans and they really liked the b fast burrito.

Vegan sushi is always fun - Edit
They do a great job on so many things but the watermelon tuna sushi had way too much rice. This is worrisome because it is a dramatic change from before. Is it indicative of the decline?

Beautiful views of marina - Edit
Always enjoy Planta, no matter the location, but this one has beautiful views of the marina. Favorites are the torched and pressed sushi, crispy rice and the best was the spicy tuna tacos.

Taste matters - Edit
While many vegan restaurants are closing or adding meat and dairy to survive, Planta is thriving. It goes to show that taste matters. If you want to be successful in vegan world, you have to work hard, be a top chef, and be creative in the kitchen.
Read morePlanta has that. It has top chefs, pleasant atmosphere, and the most that matters is the food taste is incredibly delicious.
I doubt it that their customers are all vegans but customers just keep coming to this restaurant. It is not cheap eating here but it seems that it doesn’t matter to most people as they want to get what they pay for.
We enjoyed Firecracker Roll, Bang Bang Broccoli, Udon with mushrooms and black truffles, French Toast with blueberry compote, and desserts: banana pudding and big cookie. The cocktail I tried was Herb Your Enthusiasm which was delicious too.
Pros: Yummy food and drinks, Service , Atmosphere
Cons: Parking, Noisy

You probably work for the restaurant maybe you own the place because honestly it's not worth it to go spend money over there I'm vegan for 40 years and this is the worse foods ever!

I don’t own nor work for the restaurant. I like and you don’t like it, is fine. It’s a free country so there is no need to pass judgement about my taste and be a nasty person.

My favorite restaurant - Edit
Planta Cocina in Marina Del Ray is I think by far the best or makes it in the top two best vegan restaurants of all time. The location, the food and the service couldn’t be any better. Never disappoints. Only con I’d say is that there can be a bit of a wait on weekends, but other than that, I’d recommend any vegan to visit this restaurant.

Went there for our anniversary dinner and we were thoroughly satisfied. Service was great, food was awesome. Will definitely go back and will enjoy their patio sitting facing the marina and would enjoy the sunset.

Devine! - Edit
After celebrating my birthday at Planta Queen in Chicago, we knew we had to try Planta Cocina while visiting California.
Read morePlanta never disappoints. We had reservations for lunch and were able to sit outside on the patio. Both inside and outside dining areas were exquisite. The entire restaurant was so beautifully decorated, it was hard to decide whether or not to sit inside or outside.
We were a party of three and were able to try 6 different dishes thanks to the power lunch special. As always, the food was devine and the ambiance was just as pleasant. It’s hard not to feel like royalty while dining here.
When we finished our meal, we were brought out a plate of three, oh so decadent, Chocolate Chip cookies. They were gooey on the inside and crunchy on the outside.
We will certainly be trying out the other Planta locations, as this has now become a staple restaurant for us.
Pros: All vegan, Gorgeous decor and location , Large menu, delicious food

Long awaited and worth the wait! - Edit
Seeking to try as many dishes as possible, we each ordered the lunch combo consisting of a starter, a main, and a cookie. The Dragon Roll and Brocoli Tempura were simply outstanding - both in texture and flavor. The quesadilla was strong in its mushroom flavor and tasty. The table was less enthusiastic about the Sunset Roll (a lemon and taro combination). Overall, this was a great dining experience - the setting is stunning, food fresh and creative, and the service attentive. All in all, well worth the wait to get here.

A consistent favorite - Edit
We love Planta since we stumbled across it in Toronto, and have since eaten at the Toronto, Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Marina Del Rey locations. The food is consistently good at every location we’ve been to. I have two favorite menu items. The torched and pressed rolls and the truffle miso noodles (I have to have gluten free noodles but the regular looks even better!). My husband loves the burrito. #Veganuary

We tried several shareables - the torched and pressed, 1000 layer potatoes, and black garlic tofu- all delicious. Next we tried these:

TRUFFLE KAMAMESHI

The cavatelli was spicy without much other flavor and the kamameshi was a fancy fried rice. Next time, I’d stick with the sharables, which were incredible. It was a lovely experience- we dined outside with heaters and our dog, great sunset view.

I've only been to this Planta once (and once in Toronto). I don't know who is behind the chain. but they are doing an incredible job. both restaurants were beautifully designed. and both served fresh, flavorful and innovative vegan food. it isn't junk food. and it's certainly not priced for the masses. but hopefully they will show non vegans that healthy, plant based food can be elevated to fine dining. #Veganuary

10 stars! - Edit
Planta Cocina is one of the most beautiful restaurants, if not the most beautiful one, I've seen and been to. But it doesn't stop here. The ambiance is ah-may-zing! The staff is attentive, quick, and so friendly. They truly like to serve people and make your stay the best time ever. I had the dragon rolls for starters. Unreal. I think the best sushi I've ever had (and I've tried quite a few places). My main were the Udon noodles. Perfection. So, if you are in OC, do yourself a favor and go to Planta Cocina (don't forget to RSVP via their website, super easy to do) and enjoy pure deliciousness and go home with a full heart and happy taste buds.

Made a reservation at this place not too long ago. Tried the location in NYC before so excited there was one back home. The food was just as good. The Udon and the broccoli are the highlights. Sushi is not bad, but other vegan sushi in LA is better. The only thing that was annoying (but wouldn't subtract a star ) was the wait, even with a reservation. We got there exactly on time for a 7:30pm reservation but didn't get seated until 8pm.
