I really liked the nasi lemak here! The butterfly pea rice is so pretty. Delicious food for a good price.

Maybe Next Time - Edit
The Yong Tau Foo is fine but lacks some flavour. The ingredients lost theirs as well (or had little in the first place). The rice is tasty though! It might come down to personal preferences so we want to try different dishes next time.

Located on the second floor of vegan-friendly Fortune Centre - Edit
My first real meal in Singapore. Not going to count airport fare here. Lucked out that our hotel was just down the block from Fortune Centre, a hidden gem, and a vegan-friendly food hall. Pine Tree is on the second floor, tucked to the left when you go up the escalators. They carry the usual Singaporean dishes like nasa lemak and yong tao foo plus daily specials. The gracious server helped me through the menu, especially the noodle options. I’m a noodle fiend. With these dishes, you can select which type of noodle you want, from thin rice vermicelli to the thicker kway teow. You can also specify if you want your dish stir-fried or as a soup (dry or wet). I ordered the prawn noodle soup with flattened hor fun noodles. The broth had an umami flavor without feeling heavy, and I love this style of noodles. The dish tasted like I was in Singapore which is exactly what I was looking for.
Read morePine Tree is one of many options at Fortune Center, so it’s in good company. If you’re vegan in the Bugis area, this is the place to go.

Cold chicken chop noodle - Edit
Been eating here over a decade. Noodles standard dropped gradually and sauce is not as flavorful… sad to say. The chicken chop with the noodle is not even reheat, it is cold, not worth the $7.

Decent food for low prices - Edit
I had the green Thai curry. It was filling and tasted good, although I've definitely had better Thai curries.

Still a good place of you want cheap but tasty Asian food.

Wide selection - Edit
This was open over CNY wish was a plus! I ended up ordering the chicken rice as they were out of nasi lemak. It was quite nice and I really liked their mock chicken with bean curd. The whole centre is filled with vego/vegan options so it's hard to pick just one place! I think they all had very similar offerings and were all still quite nice.

Air-Conditioned Seating Area - Edit
Apart from selling yong tau foo, they also sell local dishes and daily specials. Allium-free, though it's unclear whether some dishes contain egg and/or dairy. Personally feel the portion isn't very value-for-money. There is a separate air-conditioned seating area.

Superb Variety, good flavours but steep prices! - Edit
Prices have been steadily increasing to the point that I find it very unacceptable. Flavors has always been great for all dishes since 2008, and owner brother (cannot call him uncle) has been friendlier and generous before. Now a bit colder(maybe older), with expanded seating space.

Poor service, overpriced. - Edit
I ordered Yong Tau Foo with green curry, and it was just 1 bowl worth, and was charged $15. I'm fine with that, if it was good. But the curry was VERY diluted and the potatoes were barely cooked. Literally RAW. Friendly owners don't count for anything when your cook is too lazy to do his job properly.

Located on the 2nd floor of the fortune centre. Good variety of local food. Staff are friendly. Thunder rice is average. Yong Tau Foo is still the star of the stall.

Laksa Yong Tau Foo - Edit
They have another outlet at Lucky Plaza, tried their soup base Yong Tau Foo and wan ton noodles there before, the Yong Tau Foo paste here tastes exactly the same, quite special, perhaps this's the so-called Hakka style, though not really to my liking (i prefer Greendot, Veggie House or Thunder Tree that kinds of Yong Tau Foo paste), their laksa is not spicy and taste quite special too, overall still ok for me.

Happy staff and happy food - Edit
All the Aunties here are friendly and welcoming, and seem to enjoy what they're doing which is always nice. We ordered quite a lot! The Nasi Lemak, which was very nice, a noodle dish (one of the specials, but I can't remember the name), fried wontons and tau hu goreng. Way too much food! I couldn't eat all of it, because there was too much. The tau hu goreng was nice but had a sweet sauce on it which I didn't like entirely. My highlight was the Nasi Lemak. Very affordable prices and friendly staff. Bonus in my opinion!
