Great vegan menu options - Edit
You can choose a meat/fish/vegan menu that includes onigiri, miso soup and a salad with protein (beef/fish/tofu). The tofu dish was with teriyaki and really tasty. The place is really cute as well. Loved it.

Yummy lunch set - Edit
I thoroughly enjoyed a healthy and varied vegan lunch set with teriyaki tofu (the veg main rotates), a spread of vegetables, and plum onigiri. There are a couple of vegan onigiri options as well as vegan and gluten-free baked goods, which I didn’t try. Veg menu items are clearly labeled.
Read moreFermented fruit syrups are homemade and delicious. The kiwi was refreshing and the passion fruit was delicious and also a tad sweet.
The owner speaks English well and was friendly and engaging. Highly recommended if you’re in the area.

Nice vegan option in Jimbocho with friendly staff - Edit
Pamoja offer a healthy vege lunch plate which is all vegan if you choose one of the several vegan onigiri options, my favourite is the fresh peppercorns onigiri which is quite a unique option to have in Japan for onigiri. The other vegan onigiri options are all tasty.
Read moreIt is however quite expensive for a small plate. I always order an extra onigiri to fill myself up and it comes to over ¥2000, so not a cheap lunch!
Pros: Delicious and healthy, Friendly staff, nice relaxed atmosphere
Cons: High price for small portions

Friendly and delicious - Edit
After 10 days in Japan I finally found tofu teriyaki! The vegan lunch plate was very good and the staff asked if we were vegan or vegetarian to clarify if eggs were okay. Lots of great onigiri options that go beyond the typical ones that are vegan. Seems to be run by a small team so give this place a try to support them!

Amazing Onigiri and Coffee! - Edit
The solo staff was very nice and helpful. She pointed out the vegan options and we ordered a Salted Rice, two Fresh Peppercorn, and an Ume Onigiri. She even made sure we could have the seaweed wrap. The onigiri was so soft, warm, and delicious. They are hand made on the spot and it was a fantastic and much needed meal. The rice is fluffy, with a little chew, which is exactly what I wanted. We also ordered an Americano and it did not disappoint. Great quality coffee. Everything was fantastic and I hope to be back before we leave Japan.
