Nice fast food food

My friend and I had a great time here. The food is great! The portions are quite big.
The interior is clean with a nice ambience as well.

Nice fast food

It’s great that this place offers so many options you wouldn’t be able to find elsewhere. But personally, I didn’t find it as good as most reviews say. The food was only lukewarm, and I expected more from the flavor. It was good, just not incredible.

An off night

We dropped by for a quick dinner at 6:30 and most of the dishes were finished. Everything tasted good, fully vegan, but it is as expected: American Chinese fast food. General Tsaos “chicken”, chow mein, chop suey etc. Fine to fill a hungry stomach but nothing to write home about.

Pros: Price, Food

Cons: Cold dishes, Limited choice

Good but nothing special

To be honest after seeing the reviews I was expecting more. It was tasty but nothing special. And to our disappointment all dishes were not properly heated. Which I found strange since we arrived just a few minutes after they opened.
Prefer authentic Chinese food.

Great every time

My husband and I LOVE Oscars! It reminds me of childhood(Chinese takeaway or a cheeky panda express). Portions are generous(on the big side) and we feel the price is fair too.
Flavours and textures are yum yum yum.
Busy on the weekends of course but a weekday is usually really chill and not so many people. As with any place check their instagram for updates on days off etc.

Pros: Flavour, Portion, All vegan

Very good American-Chinese experience

Very good experience overall with a lot of vegan options that are very difficult to find around, especially in Tokyo.

Pros: Variety of vegan substitutes options

Cons: Not too many veggies

Best Chinese VEGAN food in Tokyo🤘🤘🤘

Oscars served up at least 7 entrees or more displayed in front of you to choose from! The flavor is so delicious that I went back for a second plate!

Pros: Freshly made entrees!, Variety of choices, 💯 Vegan!

Great food

Went there like three times during our stay, never had American Chinese food but I imagine this is close, if only all Chinese places were veggie

Good Food

This delivered on solid American Chinese food, but we found it overpriced given the experience is basically the same as a Panda Express. It was certainly good, but as other reviews have mentioned, the food is left out in trays so it may be cold/slightly stale if you get something from an older tray. If you're craving classic American Chinese dishes, it's worth a trip (plus the surrounding area is very fun).
For the record, the pina colada is not worth 800yen

Pros: Good menu, Good flavor, Surrounding area

Cons: Coldish food , Slightly overpriced

Cool Place but cold food

Cool place but the food out of the big wok was mostly cold. Not sure if it should be like that but we did not like it that much.

Pros: All vegan , ICE CUBE ice cubes

Cons: Cold

It’s the vegan Panda Express in Tokyo…

This place is quite literally a vegan Panda Express. I ordered their Lunch Deluxe plate with 3 mains. I tried the General Tso’s chicken, the mapo tofu and the beef with broccoli. Everything was good, but don’t expect anything fancy here. The restaurant space is pretty clean with interesting decor.

Pros: Quick and dirty Chinese food , Nice restaurant space

Cool Place

Laid back vibe, service was good and staff were cool. Pretty cheap and lots of choice. Food was tasty.

The area this was is was also really chill and nice. As a tourist in Tokyo I enjoyed it compared to the busier areas.

Vegan panda express

It's vegan panda express. You to up to the counter and ask the guy to shovel some rice and mains onto your plate. Mains include broccoli and beef, kung pao chicken, mapao tofu, etc.

Delicious

I'm not American so not too familiar with Panda Express, but this was just what we needed after a night of drinking

Edit after going on a less hungover day: It is very salty and oily, as you can see, just beware of that fact 😜

Delicious and filling!

Went here on a rainy day for some fabulous vegan American-Chinese food. Options are great - I had the chow mein, brown rice, orange chicken, chop suey and jasmine green tea. The venue itself has room to improve, but the food was exactly what I was after 😊

Delicious food and nice atmosphere

Nice place with tasty food.
Even though there is officially no gluten-free, the staff was nice and checked everything and was able to find out an option.

Pros: The food is really tasty!, Cafe surrounded by green area

Cons: There is no allergy sign in the menu, A little number of gluten-free options

Big portions and delicious food

I had the general tso and beef with string beans with Chow mein and it was all really good. The only bad side is that, as someone said before, although the menu said that the meal combo comes with a drink after paying I was told that you have to order it separately.

Pros: Big portions , Many choices, Really good

Cons: The meal set doesn't come with a drink

Fantastic food but has room to improve

The good: THE FOOD!!!! Everything was fantastic, with the chow mein and the orange chicken being exactly like the non-vegan versions I used to love. The funky atmosphere and cool music are nice too.

Could be better: The line moved slowly because the it took a long time for the staff to process everyone’s orders. Hopefully this will improve as they hire more folks and those folks gain more XP. Music selection (hip hop/ rap) was cool but a little loud.

The menu is deceptive too. It claims the Lunch Deluxe comes with 1 side, 3 mains, and 1 drink. After finally receiving our orders and paying, we asked the staff for our drink cups. Then she said the drinks are free only on weekdays. This was not written anywhere that we saw, and no one mentioned it when checking out. We were given a dinky paper cup for water that we couldn’t refill without asking them. Surely an “American” restaurant can include a drink with a combo meal?

Still, the food is amazing, and if they ever make a Yokohama location, I’ll be a regular. Thank you, Oscar, for existing! #Veganuary

Yum!

The food was very tasty, a few dishes were a bit too salty though. They serve jasmine green tea with your meal which was really refreshing (you can also get soda). The server was very nice and spoke a bit of English. They were very helpful with nut allergies.

Pros: Yummy food, Friendly staff, Affordable

Cons: Some dishes a bit too salty

Vegan American Chinese

Perfect for a nice tasty meal - you can choose your sides (noodles or rice) and then choose how many mains you would like! I had orange chicken with half rice half noodles and really enjoyed it! My partner had general tso and kung po chicken and they all tasted good! Nice chilled atmosphere. I love that it’s all vegan and there’s lots of choice! Oooh and they also have Dr Pepper on draft 💞

American setting, Chinese food

This restaurant in the renewed area of trendy Shimo-Kitazawa is pretty much exactly what the bio says: an American style diner, serving Chinese style food. All plant-based. Nothing fancy, just good and animal friendly Chinese meals like Kun Pao “chicken” or Chop Sue.

Delicious Chinese American Food

Back at the end of December, after hearing from a few friends about the newly opened Chinese American diner in Shimo-Kitazawa, I did not wait and went for lunch the very next day. I had looked at the menu ahead of time and had high expectations for junky flavor.
We ordered two Lunch Deluxe lunch combos with a mix of chow mein and fried rice and General Tso's, Kung Pao "Chicken", Chop Sue, Orange "Chicken", Salt n' Pepper Stir Fry and Mapo Tofu.
And while most of the food was really truly delicious, especially the chow mein and the different types of "chicken", the amount was quite pathetic. Nothing like an American diner. The Salt n' Pepper Stir Fry was nothing but soggy crinkle cut fries with pepper and some veggies. The fried rice was really bland - I'd order regular rice or brown rice to avoid all the grease - it would taste the same.
On top of that, the menu stated that there was a free "egg" roll or "egg" drop soup with purchase, but that was not the case at all.
The staff was stiff, awkward and a bit unfriendly. I don't know if they were still getting used to the job, as the restaurant had just opened. I will go there again to give it another try, as it seems like others had a different experience. If the service has improved, I'd be happy to change my review and rating.

Smiling maskless faces are the best :-)

Great selection of vegan Chinese-American food. My fav part of the experience was to be greeted by maskless staff members that offered smiles and great conversations😄It is really great to see the faces of the people who make your food, and I really appreciate all the staff members working there.

The food is very junky and oily, and can be a bit dry if you go later in the day and it was cooked hours prior, but I liked it when it was fresh. They make it easy to make a mixed plate and I am not angry at the price. I do wish they would accept cash, not everyone want so pay cashless.

I love that Ice Cube was there too!
If you need to go to the restroom, it is located in the room around the corner.

Pros: Smiling faces, Ice cube, Big selection

Cons: No cash payments

Great for cravings, just wishing there was more veg

This all vegan place definitely scores 10/10 for matching the brief and promise. I’m not American so can’t compare but I guess this is what American Chinese food is like haha. I especially liked the orange chicken which is a must try. Only reason why I wouldn’t give 5 stars is because the fried rice was a bit dry (maybe it’s supposed to be like this?) and the chow mein was greasy (again maybe supposed to be like this). Still, great that they’re giving vegans options when an unhealthy healthy-ish craving occurs.

See menu for prices. Also, be aware: CARD ONLY, NO CASH!
