I regret not coming here sooner. If you want the full vegan breakfast sandwich rather than bagel and tofu cream cheese then this is the spot. Wish I lived nearby cause their grocery selections are awesome too!

I had perhaps the best breakfast sandwich of my life here. I’d 100% recommend visiting the deli here, getting a soft serve ice cream, and some vegan goods to go as well.

ahhh pumpkin soft serve !!! it was v v sweet but also so festive and delicious ! yummy snack i had yesterday and i was sooo excited 2 try it and they didnt disappoint !! its all i had so idk ab everything else but ill def b back 2 try more stuff !! i wish they had more indoor seating tho loll it was hard eating soft serve outside haha i was freezingggg !! thx sm 4 the yummy treat^^ !!

My first stop after arriving back in NYC for breakfast was here at Orchard Grocer, a vegan grocery store in Chinatown with a robust deli menu.
Read moreTheir menu is filled with traditional and bagel sandwiches - all clearly marked with ingredients and mode of carb. You order with the staff at the front and wait for them to call your order.
I went with the Edith ($12), their take on the NY classic bagel & lox, and also ordered a side of their Mac N Cheese ($7). The bagel was massive - I had forgotten how thick these were in NY, but it was very much reminiscent of lox with the marinated carrot.
The mac was also good and a hearty side. Everything was great but very heavy, so don't feel like you need to finish it all in one go.
Since you're inside a grocery store, there isn't much space to sit and eat. They do have a small counter by the door that fits 2-3 people where you can eat and people watch.

I haven't had soft serve in the 10+ years I've been vegan, so it was fantastic to find this store and be able to have one again. The cream was great, but I was particularly impressed with the cone - it was thick and crunchy, much better than most vegan cones I've had before.

These sisters know how to make a sammie!! Cute little vegan grocery store with deli counter offering creative sandwiches. We got their version of a Reuben which was grilled and divine. Outdoor seating available too.

OMG their vegan croissant sandwich (the Miles?) was so good I nearly died. Instead, I just burned my mouth so bad because the sandwich was so delicious I couldn't wait for it to cool down (it was served very hot). It took all the willpower in the world to avoid going to Orchard Grocery every day for more of this amazing sandwich. 😋

I've had vegan soft serve all over the city and orchards is hands down the best! They always have a new seasonal flavor and all are good. My favorite is the pumpkin flavor in the fall 😍 definitely ask for the chocolate shell over your ice cream!

Large selection of deli items and large selection of vegan groceries. Small little place. Has a bar inside that fits 2 and a seating area outside. My wife had I got the Monty and the Edith. Seitan mortadella olives and bell peppers and carrot lox créame cheese bagel. Both were really good! Can’t wait to try something else again!

Amazing Food & Service! A Must in NYC! - Edit
Visiting Orchard Grocer is a must each time I visit NYC. I love knowing all of the offerings from the deli and in the shop are vegan. My favorite sandwich to eat is The Marlowe. It is hands down the BEST vegan Reuben I have ever had. The flavors are spot on. I also love their breakfast sandwich on a vegan croissant. What a delicious way to start the day! The soft serve ice cream is creamy and yummy and always a special treat.
