So good! - Edit
I ate a smoothie bowl and pumpkin cake. The Smoothie bowl was great as it usually does. The pumpkin cake was perfect. It was sweet enough and soft.

Nice but room for improvements - Edit
Nice big vegetarian/vegan restaurant, not easy to find. Entry point of Mandala street, small allee, 2nd floor. Some spots are very dark, menu is sizeble but very difficult to read and quite dirty to hold. Soup was not particular good, rest ok.

Can’t get enough of this place - Edit
Delicious healthy meals, great for sharing starters and their coconut banana lassi is so good! We came here for Christmas dinner because we knew it would be the perfect place for a delicious vegan feast. Very comfortable place. And they have heaters! Which is a welcome treat in the winter months!

Delicious - Edit
I had the falafel with hummus, tahini and fatoush salad. It was truly delicious and incredibly filling. The prices here and mid to upper range for Nepal but still reasonable.

Very cozy restaurant in the center of Kathmandu - Edit
I really really liked this cozy, relaxed place, not only for its delicious food but especially for the relaxed and cozy atmosphere. You need to take your shoes off and sit on huge pillows which makes it such a chilled place. We tried a lot of the food during our stay in Kathmandu and everything was really delicious. The menu is inspired from the middle east with Israeli dishes like hummus but also features typical Nepali food like Dhal Bhat. The restaurant is vegetarian but many options that are either vegan or can easily be veganized, they serve plant based milk for hot drinks, gluten free options available as well. Very recommendable! :)

The decor is very touristy, but don't let it fool you, the food is absolutely amazing. Nepal is full of yummy vegan food but OR2K is definitely a stand out.

Kinda touristy - Edit
We went just the once as it was kinda touristy with the dishes and prices. It has a good WiFi connection and the food was pleasant enough. We were just looking for something more local

Great options - Edit
They have a few vegan options and some dishes that can be veganized. However my favourite part is the atmosphere of the place. It's great for coming to hangout for an afternoon. Most of the tables are on the floor with pillows so you can just relax and it's great.

Great spot! Creme brûlée a must try!! - Edit
Good food and a nice vibe, we loved this restaurant in Thamel. Although you sit on the floor, it was still comfy for my 6 foot 5 frame, which isn't always the case in some places. We went here a couple of times and tried different dishes. The smoothie bowl was amazing as was the vegan shakshuka. The staff were helpful and told us everything that could be made vegan. The vegan Creme brûlée is a must try, it was amazing and we wanted to go back just for that!

Beautiful vegan restaurant - Edit
Although a little hard to find, the food here is top notch! I personally didn't like the Buddah bowl I had, but the middle Eastern dishes were incredible, and their deserts were to die for! The Oasis smoothie bowl was especially tasty. Also serves delicious drinks, both alcoholic and not. However, a little pricey (just hummus and naan/ chapatti is 290 npr)

2.5 stars - Edit
The place definitely has a cool vibe, there’s a big variety of dishes - all vegetarian, many vegan options. The food itself is very average. I tried all sorts of meals there and only liked the salads and the French fries. I ordered soufflé for dessert and it came completely burnt and tasteless.
Read moreBesides the food the service there is very disappointing. Not enough waiters for the whole place and they were very indifferent to us.
I would recommend this place if you’re looking for a place to drink something or chill for awhile, but definitely don’t expect much of the food and service.
Also it is mostly packed with people and it’s kinda noisy so if you’re looking for a place to work quietly or read maybe not the best option.

Deservedly popular with great food and ambience - Edit
Having been in Kathmandu for a week now, this is my favourite place in Thamel so far. It has two large rooms on two levels, both nicely and inventively decorated, and bright. It can be very busy, so a little loud, at times - but that gives it a lively feel. I have enjoyed my various menu choices which include vegan options. There are old comments here about poor staff attitude, but I think they don’t apply any more. I have found the guys very responsive and courteous, and speedy enough. They have replaced plastic straws with paper, and I applaud that choice.

Good atmosphere, bad service - Edit
Service is exactly as described. Very absentminded. We met a few friends here and arrived after they ordered it took a while and some gesturing to get the attention of the wait staff to order. Saying this, it didn’t ruin our experience at all. Food was good. We shared the OR2K combo platter. It was too much food for two of us. The atmosphere is very relaxed. Very nice for a dinner with some friends and a few drinks. Music level was fine.

For our shared meal 2 big Everest beers bill came to 1700ruppees. Not too bad

Overrated - Edit
Unfortunately OR2K is extremely overrated.
Read moreIn addition to their food being flat-out average, they are overpriced, and their service is definitely the worst I've experienced in Nepal.
I'm not one to complain about service. I really don't care as long as I get my food. I don't need someone to check up on me, be polite, etc. However, the service here is incredibly slow and incompetent. When I went for dinner, I counted 8 waiters literally standing around doing nothing while myself and several other diners were trying to get various things.
I tried their falafel and their veg pakoda. Both were just average, under-seasoned, and neither was hot.
I wouldn't return.
Pros: Ambiance, Large vegetarian menu, Vegan options
Cons: Slow service, Overpriced, Pretentious

Cozy restaurant with lots of vegan options - Edit
This place has mixed reviews but I personally loved it. I have been here so many times with my friends during our time in Nepal. Love the “hippie” atmosphere, sitting on the floor and the paintings on the wall. Food is delicious and there are lots of options for vegans and they’re clearly marked on the menu. Service is a little slow though but the place is always packed.
