Amazing taste but too expensive for the portion sizes

Beautiful place, very well decored. Great variation of comfort food dishes. We went with friends so we can only discuss what we had (my and boyfriend and me). The only thing we found was that the portion sizes were too small for the price you pay. My boyfriend got the stew (large size) with cheezy fries and this price was 25,5€. Then he got a (on the small-sized) waffle with one scoop of ice cream and chocolate sauce and this cost: 8.50€. The flavours were amazing but they could definitely work on this. I got two hot dogs and per hot dog you pay 14,90€. Again flavours were amazing, but I think around 12€ would have been better for this or perhaps they could triple the salad in size. The only thing that lacked a lot flavour in my opinion was the home-made lemonade for 5,50€. We totally get it that times are tough for everyone but we also have to drive x-amount of time to get there, also pay for parking, making this trip expensive for what’s essentially a more luxury form of fast food. However much love and respect to the owners because they have grown their business so much over the years.

Pros: Delicious flavours, Great range of options to choose from

Cons: Price versus amount you pay

Great food - some hiccups

Appetizer: cheeseballs - lovely
Dinner: meatballs w/tomato sauce & sweet potato fries. When the food first arrived the meatballs were cold, the fries were awesome tho. They immediately replaced it with a fresh (hot :)) serving. We also had the volauvent & cheesy fries which were great.

Pros: Versatile menu, All food we tried was good

Cons: Ordering thru QR & having to pay instantly, Some startup hiccups noticable

Not worth it

We reserved a spot for the opening of its restaurant in Ghent.

The appetisers came in a timely manner and were good, however we wonder if the sausage wasn't simply the Garden Gourmet sausages.

We then waited for almost an hour for our food, another table of 6 people close to us never got their food and left. We asked to double check our food and then finally it arrived.

We both ordered vol au vent with apple sauce, ketchup and I ordered sweet potato fries.
What we got were two vol au vents with salad, no sauces and regular fries, without any mention of the things that were missing.

When asked, they apparently were "out of" sweet potato fries and apple sauce.
We had to ask again for ketchup but it never arrived.

The fact that we had to ask explicitly for these things were a bad experience in itself.

On top of that the quality of the vol au vent was very poor, I suspect it's made with chicken pieces from de Vegetarische Slager. The sauce was crumbly/sandy and honestly Ikea's version is better than this!

Pros: Cheese Croquettes were good., Personel was friendly.

Cons: Food took way too long., We were not informed of things that were out, Food quality was below the bar

Delicious “traditional” Belgian food

We were so lucky to visit the pop up restaurant! 100% vegan with not to many options; all of them traditional Belgian frituur food which was amazing!!

Lovely food & staff

I tried their all-vegan Gentse Feesten pop-up 3 times in the past week and we're already going back tomorrow. Big fan of the vegan version of the 'Julientje': a local specialty with Belgian fries, satay seasoning, Flemish stew, mayonaise, sliced 'viandel' crispy sausage and crispy onions. The stew was rather sweet, but as a whole I think it came together really nicely. I also liked their bitterballen: make sure to ask for mustard, cause who eats bitterballen with mayonaise? 🤔 The cocktails were also nice (especially the piña colada), and for the desserts by Junglicious I always love the baked cheesecake. All of the staff was really friendly too, so I'm excited about this pop-up turning into a real restaurant by november. It might already be a new favourite in Ghent. 👌

Yummy in my tummy

Pop up fast food bar during Ghent Fest - afterwards they will close for renovations and will return with their permanent concept November 2023.

We had the cheese croquettes and the Julientje (fries topped with home made stew sauce, mayonaise, fried onions and frikandel).
Cosy interior, great food (deliciously greasy), friendly staff! Will def come back.
